You should try scaling the mass of the particles down with higher particle counts so that you get similar physics but at a higher resolution. Otherwise looks great!

Hi this is the first thing I've seen in my life that has me convinced that at some point video games will be indistinguishable from reality. It might be a while. But if that's what you want from your video games, you're looking at the technology that will bring it to you. And not just realistic destruction, eventually it could mean stable dynamic animation (controllable rag dolls), truly interactive environments instead of pre-programmed interactions this is how we accidentally recreate real life in computers. And yes, I mean accidentally.

imagine how this can be incorporated with weather... for example if it just rained the dirt would break apart and appear more clumpier, but if it hasn't rained for awhile then the dirt block would appear drier and break more easily.
