I mean... "intersection" ist pretty easy. Build a little 2-3 blocks stairway for the Orientations and leave normal and upside down flat to build a door into the Stairway. Done

You need that mod or texture pack where the blocks textures are always moving. It can be worse than having nausa.

You should've build a big cube and live inside. Everyone would have their floor, and you could easily see each other and determine where whose platform is. Water or basic block stairs could be used to move.

the Additional Placements mod allows you to place stairs and slabs vertically

Someone needs to make a mod that allows a custom void world type to work correctly with this concept, so you can actually fall and die in the void automatically when sideways, instead of needing to manually trigger it. The closest thing is an old mod called Starminer which added planets with gravity that automatically adjusted all the way around them and the gravitational field only pulled you in within a distance of the planet. Later versions also featured a space dimensions that you could get to that had no gravity unless in the field of a planet, so you could fly from planet to planet with a solar fan. Unfortunately the mod was never updated past 1.7.10 or something like that. One could take this idea, but specify a 3D “height” around the 0,0,0 coordinate that would define a cubic region of the world that is considered in-bounds. If you leave that region, it would be like falling into the void. Then just allow parameters to be specified like what the global gravity value is, or forced gravity values per player that ignore global gravity or gravity created by planets.
