Obviously it's not going to be historically accurate. It's a Minecraft Creepypasta at the end of the day. Btw, the British started to take interest in Egyptian mythology, it's history, iconography, and artifacts starting in 1869. The British military occupied Egypt in 1882 to protect financial interests in the country, culminating in a violent war. Britain won, restored the Khedival authority in Cairo, and established a 'veiled protectorate' over Ottoman-Egypt until the First World War. They wanted to control the economy at that time and profit off of it. Of course, yeah, they were genuinely interested in Egyptian bloodlines and artifacts, but not really till later on. The English first landed in Egypt in 1801. A threefold invasion of Egypt began. British troops were landed at Abu Qir in March, while the Ottomans advanced from Syria. Shortly afterward, British Indian forces were landed at Quṣayr on the Red Sea coast. The French garrison in Cairo capitulated in June and Menou himself at Alexandria in September. But after that, it sort of just dwindled down till the 1860s. Even ini the 1830s British lads were discovering pyramids and exploring them, but due to the poor equipment during that era, not a lot of excavation happened. In 1830, one of the first discoveries occurred in the when a British Egyptologist found laborer's graffiti indicating that the pyramid belonged to Khufu. Later excavations uncovered two boats buried near the Great Pyramid. But true discovering of artifacts started to take shape toward the early Edwardian era, 20th century, from about 1900-1930s\40s. King tuts tomb was found in 1922 by Howard Carter. He did get the town Kharga right, and it's an actual city in Egypt with ancient tombs. And the period, 1931, was around the time archeologists were uncovering things in that area. But other than that, yeah it's completely historically inaccurate. The dialogue in chat is not how they would have really spoken at that time or acted. I'm not criticizing the video at all, it's a Minecraft video. Just making a point to aballoons comment. When you set a video, book, or movie in a historical setting it has to be historically accurate, depending on the subject though of course. The video is awesome though, a new take on this type of thing, it was pretty scary, good acting, and awesome setting, awesome horror. But yeah. You can't say you are a historian if you don't know a farthing about history bud.
