4:28 That's not the total height of the tower, that's the total height you raise it up by. If you make the total height 11, it's not tall enough. The total height is 12 for the left tower, not 11, like he makes you think.

When you mention the stairs you put down earlier in 11:21, you never actually told us to put stairs there, it’s just random holes with no explanation

Tip for the people using this for the big Castle tutorial: use stone for the towers instead of bricks, Bluenerd uses stone as the base for the castle so if you use stone it will match a little bit better than if you use stone bricks

First I want to say hope you are safe and healthy . Then I want to say I love all your designs , I think they are best online . BUT on these gate towers your numbers are off , you said 11 & 22 . They are 12 & 23 . Not a big deal but when a person is trying to follow a long then things don’t line up . Then you check and check again and you can’t see where you went wrong and it takes the fun out of it. When you would build each section for the first time and count it was better . On this you say how high and go off camera and do it . Not trying to bust your chops, just pointing this out . If you want bust my chops go for it .

Yup! Great builds and very approachable tutorials. But besides an occasional block count error, there's another thing to watch out for folks... If you're using this video in conjunction with the main series for the entire castle build, beware of the different floor plan in this "Gate" video. Here we see 5 sections of 5-block-long double wall staggered >BACK< from from the gate build. In the main series the floorplan has 3 sections of 5-block-long double wall staggered >FORWARDS< from the gate build. Also, the points where the first sections of double wall attach to the gate build are different in each floorplan. One last thing, the gate build uses stone bricks as the main wall material, while the castle build uses plain stone. Minor point, since the walls all get a big texturing facelift sooner or later. Thanks for the videos BlueNerd! For me this is a great way to learn Minecraft - I'm a noob on day 4 and starting to build this castle in survival mode. Love it! :)

K so just a quick thing that i noticed BlueNerd. When viewing your first video titled How to Build Medieval Castle (episode 1) you very clearly lay out the foundation of where the walls and towers are supposed to go. You then go on to direct people to this gate building video which is very well done. While watching though I noticed a HUGE irregularity between the two layouts that you have shown us. For example, when you display the first image of this video that shows how that gate's foundation looks, including the wall that is connecting to the left, it is VERY different from the image that you showed in the aforementioned video (How to Build Medieval Castle ep1). It is a huge conflict between the two images and i have tried to wrap my head around how i could possibly manage it but the differences are to great to overcome that big of and error. I hope you see this message and can maybe clarify exactly how the true foundation is supposed to be because this is a castle that i would very much like to build.

I’ve always wondered if it’s possible to make this gate work with red stone without needing make it look really ugly some of the other red stone builds I’ve seen. Plus, I play on the switch, so it’s like impossible to stack working blocks without going through a total hassle. But either way, I’m super I’m pressed with your creativity and details!

⚠️Attention⚠️ If you’re watching this video after finding the medieval castle video and you’ve already laid it all out you need to know that the layout in this video is vastly different and theres no need to change or fix it so it looks like the pattern in the video so if you’re going to layout the patterns use the one that has the whole layout in the actual castle video.

at 8:00 there is a missing fragment where you decide to change height of the toweres from 11 and 22 to 12 and 23 (visible on the 08:15 full building capture, you can count Polished Andersite)

This is so annoying, I just spent so long trying to figure out what was wrong with my build just to finally realize you gave us the wrong height for the towers, and that the floor plan is different in the other video.

If anyone is starting on this before the main castle tutorial. The pink/blue/red/yellow layout is different on this tutorial. Just make the layout from the part 1 tutorial of the castle then come back to here and build according to that layout.

Edit: sorry never mind I think I figured it out! If anyone else is confused, all I did was copy the same thing he did on the front of the gate and do it on the backside as well (the upside down stairs). That tiny little detail made everything line up! It’s funny how such a small, easy to fix thing confused my brain so much lol, my bad! Hi, love your videos/builds, but I have a question that I’m sure you’re sick of hearing lol.. (or if anyone else can help please do). I’m in survival and VERY confused. Trying to build the castle but you said to go here for the gate first. Got confused around 7:11 right after the spruce planks and you cut out the 3 by 3 in the brick wall. Noticed it didn’t line up and looked weird on my end. I’m reading the comments, and I know you said to just use the floor plan for the castle and build the gate as shown here, but I don’t understand how I’m supposed to DO that when it’s different? It’s not the height for me that’s the problem (so far), it’s that the towers are pushed forward in this version. I’m about to take down these 11/22 towers and try to figure out how to fix it. Kinda frustrated. Thanks for anyone’s feedback
