It's been 14 years since my first Minecraft video so to celebrate we're kicking off a brand new survival series starting with the classic "How to Survive Your First Night"! Hope you enjoy!
I remember watching your tutorial videos in elementary school, now I’m in junior year of college and I still love your vids. So glad God has blessed and increases you
your attack of the B team series has been the single piece of non game media that has brought me the most joy, ever (it’d probably win against games too if we didn’t count Minecraft)
Ahhh! My childhood is back! You were the one that taught me how to play Minecraft as a child Paul! Starting off with Survival Island with your wife, and Survive and Thrive! So nice to see this revamp! 💖
I did not grow up playing minecraft. When my children asked me to play with them, I was at a complete loss... until I found your series. Thank you for helping a middle aged mom enjoy this unique game with her kids and make some great memories!
I generally try to ignore the recipe book and still use shaped crafting even to this day. unless something takes a variety of materials it's still usually faster and it feels like one of those things where the book is initially faster but with practice you will be faster doing it the manual way.
I learned to play Minecraft as a 11 year old kid from this channel, back from the original survive and thrive series. Now I’m about to turn 25 watching this at work. Time flies.
This is the best return of classic PSJ we could have asked for. 14 years flies by when we're having fun, doesn't it? I'm very glad you're still here and making videos.
I started playing Mine Craft in 2012, and Paul's video tutorials taught me how to play. I've been playing ever since. I loved the "Attack of the B Team" and "Revenge of the C Team" They are what got me into modded Mine Craft. Sadly, I've lost some of my early worlds to power outages and game crashes, but I'm still playing. I still call them spy chickens.
Your 'Survive and Thrive' series was my tutorial for Minecraft before I started playing it myself and even now years later, I still use the lessons taught in that series for how I play my games. Good to see a remake of this series for modern Minecraft.
I don't know how to explain how nostalgic this is or how much it means to me, but this is so awesome. I remember when I was just a little kid watching the series, and now I am a fully grown adult. That is so crazy.
An elegant video for a more civilized age. Before the dark times. Before the recipe book. In all seriousness Paul You were a major part of my childhood and this video brings back tons of memories. Thank You !!!
Your Survive and Thrive series is how my husband and I figured out how to make a zombie xp farm with our kids when they were little. Although they are no longer little (my oldest is 21!), we all have fond memories of watching your Survive & Thrive series and also the ones you did with your family!
Your survive and thrive series got me into Minecraft around 13 years ago. I started watching when I was around 7 and I am now 20 and almost done with college. Growing up with your content has been the best, thanks for all the nostalgia!
Hey Paul, I'm in my 20s now but I was watching your videos when you released your 2011 survive and thrive series, when my parents wouldn't let me get Minecraft on our family desktop. I lived vicariously through your survive and thrive series, and I showed your videos to my dad to try to convince him to let me get Minecraft! (although it didn't work...) I dropped off from watching your videos a while back but when this popped up in my feed I had to come back. I can't describe to you the wave of nostalgia when I heard you introduce yourself. Thank you for the amazing memories, and welcome back to RU-vid after your break!!!
I remember when I was a youngin' watching along each episode of your original Survive and Thrive series and learning more and more about Minecraft from you. It's crazy how time flies. I may know a vast number of things about MC now and have done so much in the game, but I'm still just as excited for this revival S&T series as I was for the original way back when.
My kids and I were there with you surviving and thriving all those years ago. Another generation learns the wonder of this game… We’ll be joining with you! Thanks, Paul!
I begged and begged my mom for Minecraft on my 9th Birthday after watching the old series. 23 years old now, you can’t imagine the nostalgia I felt seeing you pop up on my feed. Love you Paul.
14 years ago I was 54 years old and bought Minecraft for my grandson. I searched RU-vid for some "how to" instructions and stumbled on "How to Survive & Thrive in Minecraft". I just turned 68 and still play (my grandson got tired of Minecraft a few years ago, so I don't play as much as I used to). But dude, I can't even begin to tell you nostalgia I'm feeling right now. Thanks for introducing me to this amazing game, and I look forward to re-living my "youth" by watching your new series.
What a nostalgia hit! I had never played Minecraft before your Survive and Thrive showed up as a recommended video, I have put in so many hours since then. Thank you so much for introducing me to this amazing game!
The Return of our King! I remember watching the og survive and thrive. Season 2 was my go to for years, i think ive watched the whole series at least 7 times. I love your videos Paul, your awsome!
I still remember back when your tutorials were on the official Minecraft website. I was a 12 year old kid when I first found your videos. I'm now a 24 year old with a wife and a job and I could not be more excited about this video.
Oh man the MEMORIES! My family discovered Minecraft around 2013-2014, and Survive and Thrive was what got us into playing it! We're continuing to make memories playing the game, and still sprinkle in several of your different names and expressions for things when talking to each other ("hidey-hole," "spy chickens," "organ-i-zize," etc). Nowadays, Minecraft is what connects me to my family while I'm away at college. I'll never forget the thrill of first playing the game after watching your series for almost a year beforehand! Thanks for revisiting the series, and I hope it can make some new memories for even more folks who have yet to experience this awesome game!
Oh man the nostalgia here is strong, you had asked to hear our stories in the premiere so here's mine. I was just a dumb kid who saw someone else playing Minecraft and really liked the idea so I got it of course, however I didn't even know you had to hold left click to break a block so I spammed clicked and when that didn't work I kind of got upset lol, and that's when I looked up a tutorial and found your second "How to Survive and Thrive series" which is where you taught me even something that simple. I've been a huge fan since and have taken many of your common and simple tactics to heart, like putting torches on the right wall in caves to help me get out or your hotbar layout, they're so engrained into me that I didn't even remember it was you who taught me those things until watching this, so thank you for all the memories and here's to making many more ❤.
Very excited for this reboot. I found your channel 3-4 years ago so my son and I could learn how to play. We have made many memories playing Minecraft together. He even always calls us the pink sheep clan. Always love your content.
Talk about Nostalgia!!! In my early 30s and I remember watching this in high school, man talk about a blast from the past. So excited to see this return!
Is it true?!? MY CHILDHOOD RETURNS! Been here for both Survive & Thrive series! And who can forget punchwood island!? Some of my closest friend groups fondest memories were made on the Punchwood Island seed that you shared! Thank you, Paul for everything!
Even though I don't play modern minecraft anymore (I usually play 1.6.4) I'm glad this series will be here for people like my little sister when she eventually starts playing Minecraft. I only hope that the adventurer's spirit can be uncovered within her as it was me all those years ago. Thank you for being such a big and important piece of my childhood Paul. You're the best.
Coming back for another Survive & Thrive is such an incredible and nostalgic experience. Thank you so much Paul and your content has been really special to me for almost 12 years now!
Has it really been 14 years, I can't believe it. I remember watching these as well as Man vs Minecraft series. It's amazing how much the game has changed over all these years. I still follow your advice about placing a slab 7 blocks above oak trees, though I use glass planes now, so you can't really notice a floating block in the air. Loved watching you again, thanks.
I feel sooo nostalgic right now. Even tho I'm not a regular Watcher anymore I still like your content, your calm and friendly beeing. It feels so warm and cozy watching you survive and thrive. Thank you Paul.
19 years old here, I only have the fondest memories watching your 1.0 Minecraft Survive and Thrive series as a child! Well, now I've finished high school and it's been 10 years since I discovered your channel, I'm so glad you're back at playing Minecraft!
You taught me how to play Minecraft when I was 11. You were the first Lets Player I ever consistently followed. I think about the hidey hole from your first Survive and Thrive series every time I make my first little emergency night time hut in every world I play in. I remember all the builds and locations from your original Survive and Thrive series. I'm now 23 and I still love the game immensely. It is so special to me that my RU-vid feed has brought your videos back to me. Thank you for your incredible contribution to the video game community and years of service to the world. You have undoubtably taught many generations of game lovers the enjoyment of a silly block game that somehow manages to still be profoundly meaningful even after so many years later after the original release. Thank you ❤
YES! Survive & Thrive is back!!! You are my favorite Minecraft RU-vidr. You taught me everything I know about Minecraft and I can’t thank you enough. I started watching your videos when you made the “Survive and Thrive” 1.0 series and It helped me so much. Keep up the good work and god bless. ❤🙏😁
I watched the OG i found Minecraft and fell in love with it. Then started watching video's and found your survive and thrive and that sealed it for me. I'm happy to see it come back 14 years later is crazy but its safe to say. That for the past 14 years i have been enjoying your content thru many stages of life.
I'm going to get a tattoo of a Spy Chicken in honor of you. I started watching your first survive and thrive in 2012, and that led me to play Minecraft. You have been a major influence in my life, and I love your videos.
It's crazy to me that I was 11 years old when you started your series back in the day. I'm now 25yrs old with a completely different life and goals. This is definitely a nice hit of nostalgia to see. I used to watch the old series with my brother all the time. I look forward to seeing more of this series and hope the newer generations enjoys your content just as much as I did when I was young!
Paulsoaresjr, I watched you second season on how to survive your first night after the alpha one. You are the one that taught me how to play Minecraft. The series also is the reason I found you. Thank you so much Paulsoaesjr!
I remember watching the first series so long ago, then getting the game and slowly learning along with your videos. All the friends and memories made along the way. Thank you for everything you brought and continue to bring!
Thank you for years of entertainment and joy. You will forever be the Let’s Play Master, a Minecraft Legend, and in my eyes, one of the best content creators on the planet. Now at 24 years old I remember your original survival videos, you playing with your family/kids, and now continuing to spread the wonders of Minecraft for the future generations.
This series was such a huge comfort for me as I was figuring out how to play Minecraft myself (since my brother wouldn't teach me) I'm really happy to see it come back with how many additions there have been since the last series!
I can't believe you're still making these Minecraft Survive and Thrive series!🤣 I've seen your series waaaaaaaaaay back in the good ol' Alpha days! I don't think you remember me orthe tower you built way back then, but I'm the guy who gave you the idea of naming that tower back on your Alpha series Cloud Tower because of the clouds moving through it!😁 Great to see you still making these videos, even though I haven't watched in a number of years. Seeing this series still going brings me back to the memories of the Alpha version!
Oh my GOSH! I've been playing minecraft for 14 years now. The original version of this series is what helped me grow my love for the game. Thank you so much for everything. I'm currently in high school. I watched your series when I was just a young boy, and it really shaped my love for the game. Thank you!
My family and I have been watching your channel for almost 13 years now! My son introduced me to your channel, and I was hooked, my daughter has grown up watching your content, she is obsessed with Legend of Hoodie! She is now 16! Which means the first time she saw you she was three! Thank you for being such an amazing content creator
I watched your first video when I was 6, I have little over a month until I turn 18, still can't believe it. I just wanted to stop by and say thank you for introducing me to the game that shaped my childhood and teaching me how to play it. Best of luck Paul!
I still remember watching your Survive and Thrive videos in 2012 when I was a kid trying to learn Minecraft. I still look back on it fondly, and watching this video from university made me feel that again. I'm so excited for this series!
You introduced me to Minecraft. Over 10000 hours of Minecraft later and I’m still playing. Best purchase of my life! I still remember refreshing my feed to see if you posted another video from your original series.
This is like a throwback I swear... I was just talking to my mom about watching the first episode of your original series back when I was 9... I am now 23 and I am baffled... You were and still are one of my biggest heroes and inspirations for being in the film and media industry. I cannot believe you are rebooting... and the Chicken Invasive Administration (CIA) is after you (those filthy spies)
Crazy to think I started watching you when I was 11 years old. I'm 24 now. I remember your first survive and thrive video to this day. Your house on the hill with the murder holes... the nostalgia is real
The original series is how my siblings and I got into Minecraft and I still reference it to this day and refer to my starter base as 'hidey hole' in each new world. I'm so excited for a new chapter
I remember my brother getting minecraft for his 6th birthday and we were both absolutely lost. We spent hours watching your videos, trying to figure out how to play. This video brings back some of my favorite memories :)
The original Survive your first night introduced me to your channel way back when it came out, so after watching your videos coming up to now it sure is a treat to bring back those old memories. : )
When I was 14, I used to walk to my local library after school everyday to watch your newest videos since I didn’t have a computer or smartphone to enjoy them on. This video brings nostalgia to the max
So much has changed since the original series, both in the world, in Minecraft, and in the personal lives of yourself and your audience Even still, you have a brilliant way of bringing comfort and ordinance to a game and community that has become anything but
It was really this day fourteen years ago? Boy, how time flies... Thank you so much for all the great memories and teaching us all we know. Can't wait to make more with you!
I was 10 years old when I started watching, from the very first episode. I still remember how cool I felt when I showed my friends the “P.I.S.S. (Personal instant shroom shelter)”, and mining every block of stone around my first Diamond vein just as you taught. 💙 I’m 24 now, graduated from college, have a career in the game industry, and Minecraft remains one of my favorite games of all time - if it weren’t for you, I don’t know if I ever would’ve played it! Thank you for everything, Paul, and I look forward to watching this whole series all over again.
Before my family had a computer strong enough to run minecraft, I was absolutely enamored with your videos as a kid. I still remember how your base looked from all the way back in MC 1.3, and how you were so excited to mess around with trapdoor hooks of all things! Seeing this video makes me so happy. Thank you so much
Oh man. I was just barely into middle school when I watched your original How to Survive series. Genuinely a fundamental part of my childhood was watching your channel.
I’ve watched the original episode and that was the beginning of my journey with Minecraft. 14 years later I’m playing with my son Paul. Thank you for your videos and welcome back !
I was 13 years old when I watched the first series.. now 27. This brought back good memories - I really loved this game then and watching Survive and Thrive series as well as the Man V Minecraft. Just all around great memories. Thank you Mr Paul.
Woooo! some PSJ survival Minecraft! If there’s one thing I love more than surviving my own first night in Minecraft, it’s watching you do it Paul! Hope you and your family are doing well! Thank you for all the enjoyment you’ve provided over many years!
