I would like to ask if there is problem with distance from killing chamber to each spawner. Isnt greater than 16 blocks therefore spawners are disabled? Is there option to do room with spawner vertically smaller to avoid disabling spawner due to greater distance?
Yes you are correct, in this example I was using a second account to hold spawns while another account was able to use the killing chamber. You will always need to be within 16 spaces of the spawner block to activate it. So to answer your question, in theory the size of the spawn room does not matter, it's the location of the player. In the video I tried to cover how to move the spiders around and build the killing chamber that will collect xp and items. With all worlds being different I wanted to give the tools to be able to make a custom design that works for you. A tip if spawners are inconvenient could be to pick a spot to stand that is within 16 blocks of all spawners and mark the location. Then once you stand their for a minute or so the spiders will spawn and you can move to the chamber and kill them, not as efficient but still more than a single spawner. Sorry for the long respawns but I would like to pin this comment because it answers some good questions, so thank you for asking!
@@stststudar2663 You really should’ve prefaced the video by saying that… What’s the point in modifying all these water streams and canals if the farm ends up being just as, if not more inefficient than other multi-farms anyways? No offense because you seem like a good guy… but it’s a pretty massive oversight. The video should be titled, “2 player spawner farm” or “very close multi-spawner farm”
@@cskelly3783 I think most people who are looking beyond the basic "here's how to make a single spider farm" realize that the spawners have to be relatively close together to make it work. It's just my opinion, but I think the video is fine as is.
Just wanted to say thank you to everyone who has enjoyed this video!! I never expected it to blow up out of no where the way it did. This might have just inspired me to keep making more tutorial videos for you guys. Much love to all of you amazing ppl!
How you link the spawners together has really helped me with a mega-grinder where I'm able to pick up and move the spawners. Thanks to these canals I can move spiders from 60 cave spider spawners with ease where other designs would get clogged very fast. Thank you! Some tips for others - TEST YOUR FARM IN SURVIVAL. Spiders path find to the player despite not being able to reach the player. In creative this doesn't happen and can cause inconsistencies if you're doing some complex. Spiders can fight currents when the water level is pretty low (tailing end of the water stream). Try to keep the distance from source block at most 6 blocks. You can further refine the spiders into a column where sweeping edge will kill them in a single swing without having to move by crushing them together in the kill chamber with pistons periodically.
thank you, this is so great man! it's so helpful to see how the spiders won't cramp to the sides! phil (Ph1lza) did a shoutout to you btw, a lot of people are coming from him
Very nice design! One recommendation for the killing chamber: If you put sticky pistons on top of the second row of slabs from the end, you can activate them to block the spiders from running away when you hit them. I found that to be the finishing touch that really makes this farm shine. Thanks for the informative video. :)
I haven't watched the video yet because I'm here thanks to a stream, but given all the positive reviews (including one from my Comfort Streamer), I can't wait to use it! :)
first off, thank you so much for this video (just realized I'm a bit late, lmao) around 6:00 when you've talked about the "normal spiders" - could you eventually clarify the dimensions? By 5x3x3, do you mean the spider funnel being 5 wide, with a height of 3 and having every 3 blocks a new elevation? I genuinely didn't understood that part properly, sadly
Putting a half slab on top cuts your rates about nearly 6%. It's quite easy to just put a calibrated skulk sensor set to "mob spawning" and put a dispenser with a water bucket in it and some fence gates to direct the flow to reclaim that spot as well as flush the spider off.
I'm playing on the caves and cliffs update on ps and excitingly enough I explored a mineshaft and found six cave spider spawners within close proximity. Six! They have the potential to be funneled into a single xp farm, I'm trying to figure out exactly how I'm gonna do this. It would be truly a gesture of great kindness if I was able to somehow recieve your help in this! But that is very unlikely and I am aware of that! Thanks for the vid, it's been a great help so far!
