I used to play with friends, they praised me designing all sorts of Redstone contraptions. But now they play alone and just copy Mumbo Jumbo and Illmangos designs because theyre better.
i am 2011 kid and even i think what happened is freaking bad , i grew up watching exactly all of those guys ( not dan really tho ) really hits different
I started to know Minecraft through Stampy, then I got in touched with Popularmmos (Or Pat) and DanTDM. But Popularmmos are the only youtuber I'm stuck with them most because of their Mods challenge and playthrough even in the 2015-2016 (The Downfall of Minecraft) his channel still holds very strong with millions of views. Now it is so sad that Pat and Jen had a break up, Pat get to the point where he was arrested and everything doesn't feels the same anymore. Pat don't want to have children but little did he know that he has made millions of children having a good childhood and one of them is me
The xbox 360 days of MC were my best moments me and my brother sitting on the floor building laughing having fun me and my brother were always trying to find ways to add mods to the xbox never did but we did get modded worlds it all came to a end when our xbox stopped working hours of time gone years of progress gone It was the golden age for me
@nuts for dinner well yes my brother did transfer his account to the xbox one my worlds are lost cuz he doesnt know the password and we throw away the xbox once after he transferred his account
Same, though I played alone since I didn't have an extra controller. The disc reader broke or something so I could no longer play Minecraft after that. I remember making some really nice stuff in creative mode, like this really cool modern mansion that was pretty huge and original. I also remember making a Doctor Who phone call booth thing. The kind where when you go in it leads to a much bigger room inside of it. Made that through just pictures from the series itself. Rip all that progress.
The problem with only focusing on minecraft's past is that you never improve things in the present to make a better future. That's why minecraft has hit a new dark age, because we see the good times of minecraft as just nostalgia instead of something we can create.
now is a great time for the community to create a new golden age. the last few updates have been incredible. a major cause of the original drop in popularity was at least in part because of s string of awful updates.
You do realize that most of the players are old enough to have a responsibilty and the generation of this current time is like an immovable spear (its my own metaphor)
The amount of power that the clips gave are, making a man break into tears. Edit: it's not the RU-vidrs who ruined the nostalgia of the game, it's the community or fan base ruined it.
Back in 2014, I was in a relationship with someone, we were quite young back then. Every time I hanged out at her house the number 1 thing that we did was play minecraft on her Xbox 360 for hours, it was like a hobby that kept us entertained together. The relationship ended in 2016, but every time I played Minecraft after the break-up didn't exactly feel the very same. Specially when I tried playing with someone else, I eventually kinda faded away from playing the game due to a lack of motivation, the fan base becoming cancer and..yes, the fact that without her it didn't feel the same. It just makes you realize how such a well done game can make you feel without you even realizing it. By the time 2021 came I got the game once again, but after seeing so much degenerancy within the community I didn't really play it that much. There was only one reason which got me to play it once again this year. *Her.* We recently became friends once again, and we decided to start playing Minecraft once again, and it is something I really needed after not touching the game for so long. It dosen't even matter if we're in a relationship or not anymore, as long as I'm having fun with her in this game is all I could ask for. The game lives on because it is still fun to play, but it struggled to deal with the mixed community it now has. Remember what Minecraft was.
It's good to know that you both rekindled with each other. Also do you wish things could be like the way they were back in 2014 or do prefer your current state.
@@goawayddd9799 That's complicated question, to be honest I don't know if I really want to. Things have changed these past 8 years regarding my likes and hers respectively. I actually did have feelings for her back when I first wrote this comment, however now I'm between yes or no. One thing to note is that our relationship ended because our own classmates bullied us to the point we no longer wanted to be in a relationship anymore. Basically, we could handle internal issues but not the external ones of our relationship. I was happy with her, but we both have a fear of repeating history again. And if being in a relationship dosen't make her happy I can't bring myself to insist. For now, I'd rather preserve our friendship instead of risking another relationship doomed to fail. Then again, who knows? Maybe she really wants to and I'm just being anxious.
It feels like Minecraft is going back to where it once stood. Down to be just the game with all the children. But heads up, Mumbo Jumbo, Grian, Hermitcraft, etc. still is a thing.
having a younger brother and seeing what creators are like now through him makes me extremely sad, I miss creators like dantdm, stampy, and popularmmos, I honestly hope things get better
@@averagetf2player277 The old content creators are literally the same as the new ones, you only *think* the old ones were better because you were young.
This is one of the few Little Dark Age edits that can almost bring me to tears. I will forever miss the good old days of Minecraft, and I hope that all future generations can enjoy this game and its community as much as we all did.
I feel bad for those who experienced todays age of Minecraft content creator’s just goes to show how lucky we are to have grown up with such a great childhood unfortunate that most kids nowadays won’t experience that same childhood as we did
We aren't kids anymore. The brightly colored world that we knew has faded away and the new world we inhabit has shown it's darker side. But even despite all the heartache, we still tend to drift and fantasize over the long gone past.
Yeah, it’s just sad to see the present because it would never be as fun as the past. I live in the present but still looks back at the past, for there is only happiness back there.
@@Imperial_Navy03 The reason why there is so much toxicity in those communities is because of RU-vidrs like dream who don't moderate their communities and thus allow the toxicity to grow. If they had done anything sooner, then the toxicity and the cringe issue would be FAR less severe than it is now. And hasn't techno's minecraft career started in like 2015 or somewhere along those lines. So I wouldn't really call him a new gen content creator.
You have managed to encompass nearly everything that I hold so dear from those times long passed. Bravo to you. The only thing that I regret not seeing here (from the English community at least) is LogDotZip's old Attack of the B Team let's play. I don't know what it was about it, but its levels of nostalgia rival much of anything else for me. Aside from that, the only thing that comes to mind is an iconic house from season two of a Russian let's play from 2014 who moved on past Minecraft long ago (TheBrianMaps, Very Scary Adventures for those who actually care).
Is it wierd that I genuinely started crying when seeing all the nostalgic things? Also Rip skydoesminecraft his fall was the hardest but he was one of the greatest.
my first memorable build: a 4-5 story hotel like thing that was a 4x4 on each floor on my dad's Samsung galaxy grand prime. I loved it when it lasted. I would always think of what to do since I built it in a swamp but could never get far due to the phone overheating. still have the phone but no saves...
Forge lab's 100 days are genuine, Been watching him since he had 4.4k subs, Loved his videos, watched him grow over 4million, Truely unscripted genuinely wholesome personality, Love my man
@@quietboy6593 I mean, you can always go back to the old console versions of the game if you have the disc, and play those three game mods again, you’d have to do it split screen because I’m pretty sure it’s dead.
This actually put a tear to my eye, the nostalgia is insane with this game, To the young kids not knowing our childhood, this current one will be yours…
Hermitcraft is still an ongoing series and I am thankful for that. They'd inspired me to start playing minecraft again with my crew and it was amazing. The dream smp stan are also slowly dying and their cringe cultures are fading. We might see and experience the renaissance era for minecraft soon.
the game feels too full and less like a sandbox now in my opinion, old minecraft had that charm where you could do whatever you wanted without really needing to progress
The fact I had watched lots of let's plays, mod showcase, custom maps and other machinimas even horror films based on Minecraft since 2010 never leaves my mind.
I wish I could go back to the good old days, I remember being 4 or 5 years old when I found Stampy on my dads phone downloaded Pocket Edition and actually enjoyed the game, but now it’s filled with nothing but dull and boring content creators with no imagination what so ever, I miss the old Minecraft and I want it back
@@jimmywhite6863 I mean I have nothing against homosexual people. However nowadays i have a feeling that lgbtq is used as a hype train, as a childish desire of ability to stand out.
Yogscast got me into the game back at 2012, I remember I binge watched their Shadow of Israphel series. Through Yoglabs I knew about mods and started watching other people like PopularMMOS review mods.
kinda sad the yogscast didn't end up in this. it feels weird they were one of the biggest channels on youtube for a good while but seem to have been completely forgotten.
@@Yingyanglord1 Yogscast showed up for a single frame about "the downfall of Yogscast" or something ridiculous like that. Such a lukewarm take since they've mostly just grew with their audience. Do wish we at least got one frame of the OG surival series base though.
@@miss_bec exactly. many of the narrtive based minecraft stuff we have now *only* exist because of what shadow isrpaheal. "Who are you who does not know your own history" moment
Seeing stampy really made me feel sad also i remember when the shop was first made and i bought the chinese mythology pack i think it was the first one it is so nostalgic. 😢
oooh...the good ol memories...i remember watching so many minecraft vidoes as a kid, literally watching PVZ mods all day long, literally watching pokemon mods, believing in herobrine, minecraft animated songs, the good old days of monster school, trying to create the aether protal....so many good memories....
Netherite just makes you knock back resistant so you can’t really escape if your getting attacked by your friends that’s why diamond is better and is og
2010s is the golden age for minecraft for kid like us born in 2000s , i watch them many years ago but now as an adult i feel minecraft nowaday is not like in old day , let's just good thing don't last forver
"you either die a hero or you live long enough to see yourself become the villain" Welp 2016-2019 the time the game was dying but this death was gentle and kind Goodbye old minecraft the game veterans will not forget you
The absolute joy of being able to say I enjoyed this game during the jungle update with my school friends on our own private PvP server. Still play it now and again, but the simplicity back then was just bliss.
1.13 was honestly the peak of the community, it was modern, breathed new life into the game, a big update that added a lot, but kept the original feel, nowadays they spend a whole major update on 5 things that dont even feel like they belong, like seriously wtf is the sniffer supposed to be? shit looks like a badly made mod? also, the minecraft resurgence on youtube (Dream and the cringe clan), hadnt begun yet, but there was still a thriving community of builders and actual SMP players (hermitcraft, sci-craft), even through to 1.16 things were pretty good, and honestly, I remember watching a video from Dream when he still had less than 10k subs, and he wasnt cringy, he wasnt fishing for views, he was just a dude enjoying Minecraft, thats what it was. people simply enjoyed this nostalgic game, remembering booting into it on your old shitty ipad back in 1.6, making a house out of diamond blocks, feeling that sense of discovery when you find out about the nether and the end, and that sense of disappointment when you find out that the aether isnt a real thing. for all of its life up until 2019, the MInecraft community was all about having fun, and that was what made it so pure, honestly I would give anything to go relive those days for just a brief period. because lets face it, we're never going to get it back, and minecraft is not going to have another resurgence, its just going to die, a slow, and quiet death, the best selling game of all time will be nothing but a past footprint on the internet, and a mention on Wikipedia.
I know that feel. You need to take a rest. Then when creativity hits go and make masterpieces. Minecraft still can be fun. Altrough not as fun as back in the golden era...
Ssundee and Tommy were some of my favorite minecraft youtubers before they became what they are now 😭 And captain sparklez and his songs will always have a special place in my heart ❤️ Sad to see that the Minecraft community has declined
I remember when Minecraft was just that. You would hop on and open up your survival minecraft world and the only creatures were pigs, cows, chickens and sheep. When the music was peaceful. When minecraft youtubers made nice videos showing off their houses and created let's plays. Where did my childhood go.
I miss finding out was minecraft was and then watching the yogscast play it in there survival series. I miss team crafted and all the other groups before they broke up. I miss the time before all the controversies happened. But honestly in some way despite the nostalgia of going back I dont want to see the downfall again. Minecraft is far different now compared to beta and in some ways it is better but i miss being creative with all the limitations at the time, the buildings were more creative like having parts of your base floating or having lava walls in your basement. Now it seems everyone sticks with just detailed houses or "modern builds". Maybe one day we will get another "minecraft" game.
I played Minecraft as a kid. It was my favorite game of all. I’ll always remember stampylongnose, TheDiamondMinecart (Or just DanTDM) being a part of my childhood. Minecraft will always be the gem of gaming.
Honestly I was a very young kid when I started watching all these Minecraft RU-vidrs like Stampy Popularmmos SSundee and others, what a good era of RU-vidrs
Bro the old Hunger games 💔 Still remember my 8 year old heart going nuts watching Sparklez spot Antvenom amongst the trees by that cliffside and the battle that ensued! I always wore full dia but with an Iron helmet because thats what AntVenom had when he won 🤭
