While i like the gardens, and the vibe, what significance does it have to the greater game? The deep dark gives loot and lore, why should we need to go to the gardens, other than wood? Thats my question. Woops just watched the video.
I'd think that the Mojang team has stuff in the works to make the place more important. Remember that the Deep Dark started out as nothing more than a sculk-y cave with small cobblestone rooms when it was announced. The Pale Gardens will likely receive unique loot and maybe a structure, but it's still not planned to the point that it can be announced. As a wise internet person once said, "Let them cook."
y'know when the director said they made it live action because nothing else minecraft had been live action before i was like "yeah you maybe think there was a reason for that"
People are being way to harsh about this update. I don’t understand why people are so worried about it being small, we already know that there will be a second one this year plus I’m sure there are a number of feature related to the creaking that we don’t know about yet. I suppose the update could have been a little bigger but hay we got a whole new wood type in a color we’ve always wanted because let’s be honest birch wood is not white. I am worried about the movie though, they really should have animated it.
the problem is anyone could easily make a mod that allows you to find said wood type, or make a datapack that changes the shade of wood, this was their 15 anniversary update, and instead of doing something fun or big they did potentially the smallest thing they could've think of
What if instead of being called the Creaking it was called the Freaking, and instead of chasing you when you weren't looking it got freaky when you weren't looking?
Strong disagree with this not being what players want, at least from my end; I love the original fantasy aspects in Minecraft (so Pale Garden wins out over, say, Birch Forest or Swamp for me) and I want more exploration in the game, so a new biome and mob is kinda great, especially if we get one update like this every few months Sure I still want big overhauls like the Nether update, but I don't think there's anything wrong with the Pale Garden or Creaking or new wood and plants
@@Jamer-lc3vv They'll get to adding more stuff in future snapshots. If ya think back to when the Deep Dark was first announced, it seemed pretty lackluster as well. Give this update some time to cook, and it'll be great.
You want more exploration, but really what is here to explore? The scenery? The new blocks? I get that its not technically zero content, but its not much either. The Deep Dark at least had the Ancient Cities, the Pale Garden has nothing practical besides the mob. Its just another new biome with no actual use besides variety, they could release a dozen more and it still wouldn't really change the game. Most of the things you can do don't give real rewards outside of personal preference
At the end of the day, this minecraft live and the reaction tells me that the minecraft community really doesn’t know what they want. There is nothing mojang can do to “earn back their trust”. I have a strong feeling that even if a end update was announced yesterday the community would still be as divided as it is now. The problem isn’t that Mojang announced a small update, it’s the unrealistic expectations of this community and the inevitable disappointment. People knew changes would happen and yet they still got their hopes up for and end updated just on a whim. No real leaks suggesting one, just because someone said it and everyone set their hearts on that. I’m so sick of seeing this community eat itself every time change happens. All I have to say is thank you Mojang, for continuing to support this game and this community, even when they don’t always support you.
I genuinely really like all the new stuff and I greatly enjoyed the live (aside from the movie stuff). People saying they miss the mob vote are genuinely insane 😭
I feel like the mojang devs that do actually wanna bring complete updates with loot and new features are very limited due to their superiors, wich sucks
Am i the only one that enjoyed it? I really liked the change of pace, and the return to a more behind the scenes look as opposed to a show. And i Honestly feel way relieved about the movie after that trailer and all the talk
This is probably just a crazy theory, but the fact that in the movie scene they showed Mamoa crafting that random recipe with no context in the trailer, as opposed to showing Jack Black making a sword, (which is something we're all familiar with) makes me think that the trailer was just a big troll. Honestly this already looks 10x better than the movie. But idk I'm probably just coping hard right now. I want this movie to be good lol.
Saying they want to do something different with the movie while doing what most movie companies who haven't played the game would have done anyway is not different. And it certainly doesn't make the high brow project they make it out to be.
@@Jamer-lc3vv it's not an anniversary update, it's a small game drop that comes this year, along with bigger updates in the future, this isn't even 1.22 this is like 1.21.3 or 1.21.4 pls stop crying
It's just sad that they change the themr of Minecraft Live because of things that happened in last live. Unlike some others before, this live seems to have less content, and why is it? Because community will scream at them when they add more clips and stuff. It's even decreases the length of the live. Vu really changed the way he talks, i know he's not the host but not being a host doesn't gonna take you hyped attitude especially if it's about fun things. Mob vote is gone, which is something that good for this community actually, cuz we don't need everyone to scream at each other. They be calling mojang lazy to give decent update while also complaining at them when they give big changes and calling everything "not minecrafty". They literally said they will add more stuff in future and there will be next minecraft live, but yeah ppl be "whatever" and start screaming for lack of new things being intrduced. Everytime they add decorative and variety block, ppl gonna call it useless. Community asked bundle for years, when it releases they call it useless and stuff like "shulker exist". You don't even know the purpose of bundles if you comparing it with shulker box. Even tiny texture changes that mean to be good like ore texture variety gonna be called " this is not minecrafty". The community aint even grateful with what they've got. At this point, im glad they still updating the game
My main thought during basically the entire update reveal was "PLEASE let this be just be super unfinished." It feels like it has potential to be a cool new area, but as it stands I just can't imagine giving any real fucks about it beyond getting my hands on "birch but good"
A good chunk of the Minecraft community seems to be a bunch of privileged jerks when it comes to the game. Ever since Mojang catered to what the fans wanted in Minecraft (the mob vote), people still want and expect Mojang to continue catering to what THEY want in Minecraft. What these people don’t realize is that Mojang could care less about what we want, but they don’t. Mojang continues to add things to Minecraft, and whether we like or dislike it or think the update is good or bad, we should still be thankful that Mojang still cares about Minecraft and continues to add new features to this already great game. The company creates the customer and not the other way around.
The pale forest should have a fog aura to it whenever you enter it BTW the movie director for a minecraft movie looks more like steve than Jack Black 💀3 seconds after and I realize I wasn't the only one to think that (💀intensifies)
We already had the end update how does literally zero people realize? Besides there are areas of the game that hasn’t been updated in much much longer which should be updated more often
I don't understand the take of "oH hEy tHeYrE uPdAtInG iT fOr fReEeEeEeEe?!?!?!" It's like... No shit! It's a live service game, it's whole means of remaining relevant is tied to its updates, and I don't know why people are bringing up the fact that the updates are "free". Yeah they're free because they're updates, it's not DLC. If a game ever tried to make you pay for updates, that game is going to be trashed immediately. When it comes to live service games, updates are not a gift, they are an expectation, so don't think you're not able to criticize the updates just because we don't have to pay for them like this is some kind of dystopian future
Minecraft doesn’t need updates to stay relevant, just to keep around the lowest common denominator players who are halfway out the door at all times. Stop developing the game for them and take some extra time to make less but more fleshed out features and the game will be just fine. The player numbers will go down, but they will still be high, and we can go back to having a healthy and respectful community.
They don't HAVE to update them though, as they gain next to nothing from that; this is the most popular game in the world with the largest active playerbase, AND it's 15 years old.
Yeah they already are they optimisée the game a lot made data packs way more powerful and easy to use, they fixed TONS of bugs and are experimenting with Redstone and minecarts Feels like a lot
Minecraft live being pre recorded is only about as bad as mrbeast faking his videos (note mrbeast did a lot of really bad things, and faking his videos isn’t really that bad)
at this point, i could completely understand if the mc team just goes "f this we gonna stop doing anything for this game" (wont happen cuz microcok wont let them)
Minecraft's direction has completely changed, actually i feel it has no direction at all now lol, i would kill to go back in time and make it so Notch never stopped working on Minecraft after 1.0, he made all the good decisions and after Jeb became "the new Notch" the direction shifted to a more boring game and it has all been disappointments from there with only 2 updates being actually good and creative... the aquatic and the nether update.
even as someone who didn't see any leak, this shit is disappointing, unless the second live is like 50 hours of content this will be a really weak update... The update is once again a biome with no reason to go to after getting the tree... do they really not see this obvious problem everyone always goddamn mention every time they release a useless biome or structure??? legit just an excuse to have yet another recolor of wood, at least if the creaking was interesting in any way but it's just a weeping angel that's super easy to see and kill and not scary at all... "Mojang is releasing smaller updates now" well rip the end update then, ig they put effort into the nether update, saw they had to actually work for that and just decided to give up :p
i like the creaking cus you cant beat it with just a sharp 5 sword, so its a start to somewhat countering just sweeping through everything with enchants
POV: You: *coming to the Pale forest* The creaking: *hidding beeper in the forest waiting for you to come in* You: *stays near the edge of the Pale forest, grabs some new wood, few saplings and blocks* The creaking: *still waiting for you to go deeper in the forest* You: *got few new block, turn and go back home far from the new biom* The creaking: D: You: *farms the new blocks (no need to go back)* The creaking: D':
If the Minecraft movie really wants to depict Steve accurately they need to have the actor drink multiple gallons of milk without flinching otherwise the movie is unfaithful to the established lore.
Maybe there's something wrong with me... I just... Don't see the joke. I don't see why people are so disappointed. I found the idea of update so interesting, and I just feel people are mad because they want to be mad. But again, I also never found the "bugrock" jokes funny, so maybe it truly is me...
wouldnt quicker turnaround for updates favour small, inconsequential features additions, since they won't have as long to consider their impact on the game?
I expected the gardens to have flowers, bushes, bunch of stuff! Maybe even more mobs, but nope, just some trees and moss. Basically go, grab a sapling and moss during the day, then get the frick away
Don't give in, Phoenix. They're doing it on purpose to try to make you regret challenging them, by adding dumb things literally no one was asking for, instead of wildly popular requests.
What makes or breaks this update for me is if they continue the trend of updating the resource pack/data pack functionality to fit with the added features. Because custom sound control and custom world/biome sky enviroments would be amazing for map makers.
Again that feels like a new "If you find a lost city can you please bring me some sculk blocks?" "if you go into the end please bring me some wings please and some of the pickup chests!" "if you find that white wood area please bring sapplings..." moment. A lot of people I interact only visit that place once or even never. Some player don't even know that you can respawn the dragon. (10 years plus each of them). Builder: White wood yay Explorer: "I fetch you all sapplings the one time per server I visit that place." Redstoner: Is this a night detector? Griefer: nice.
2:12 mojang is working towards a more modded feel. For example, the deep dark, the trial chambers, the wolf armor, and more. They observed the community wanting an updated version of the dungeon, so they did it themselves. They see things like the cave dweller so they made this new biome.
This is a really cool update I love scary things, I think people should stop complaining, it takes time to make an update for a game, and everyone decided that Mojang is lazy because they changed the color of the oak planks, because news flash ALL THE WOOD PLANKS ARE RECOLORS OF OAK.
Honestly this Minecraft Live wasn't necessarily shorter than others, it just didn't spend tons of time on other topics, like other games or community stuff. I'd bet if you compared core Minecraft-centered video segments between this and the last few Minecraft Lives, it would probably be pretty similar. I actually hated the 1-2 hour Lives that spent half their time or more talking about things other than the main game.
I hate how everyone acts like each update has to have a reason to exist other than it adding cool blocks and fun lil features. Mojang has to be careful with what they add nowadays because it risks changing minecraft in a way that players will not like, tanking it's playerbase Like mumbo said, "Modern minecraft wouldn't add the creeper, but modern players wouldn't accept the creeper either"
man... I'm tired of seeing Mojang come up with these frankly amazing ideas and then barely expanding upon them Deep Dark had so much untapped potential, and so did archaeology, and now this? This biome feels like it could be so cool and unique but right now it's just a grayscale vintage 80s movie with some weeping angels...
Terraria announces the final, final, final update adding 290412 new items, 212 new enemies with bosses and end-game content, perhaps even biomes. Minecraft announces.. recolored blocks and some new enemy that virtually does nothing, has a silly new mechanic that adds nothing to the game and drops nothing, great addition, i can't think of anything better than using up my computers resources to compute another useless biome 😍
I had an idea for the Pale Garden that might make it worth exploring farther than just for the trees: The Pale Fountain. Its a structure that randomly generates, maybe once per Pale Garden Biome. Idea is mainly that it will either have treasure or you can go down it to an underground cave with some stuff inside.
