I’m going to list some things that are incorrect or a mistake I do not mean to be rude I just want to help 1 the bell is sideways 2the first wheels should be as fallowed 2-8-4. And that’s all I hope I helped :)
Thank you for pointing it out! This is my decision to not make it inaccurate to the real engine I find the leading and trailing wheels to be too small given our steam 'n' rails options so I focus on making it look good proportionally in Minecraft form and keep the aesthetic of the train. Do apologize, apparently I forgot to mention this in the video 😅
BWHAAHAHAHA YES I WAS GOING TO POINT THAT OUT bro put polar express in the title and thought he wouldnt be absolutely harassed by train nerds cool ass build anyway tho
Pro tip: there are a lot of sfx of the Polar Express cause of a game ror the ps2. You can download those sounds and replace the train sounds from the Create mod and you will got a 1:1 polar express
I love the movie soo much, thank you for such an awsome tutorial, also i would love to see more train stations and maybe a grand train station as a tutorial
I've 3D modelled a hyper accurate model of the Polar Express and yeah, this thing looks legit. Very good looking. Might even build this exact one on my own worlds. Thanks!
it looks great and i would build it too if only this boogey extension mod worked on my pc. and as a fan of this movie i need to say that the first bogey was actually a single pair of wheels and the last (on the engine) was a double pair but i understand that some boogey settings are not available to do
Actually the Polar Express is a Baldwin 2-8-4 S-3 class Berkshire type steam locomotive, not a 4-8-6. And the headlight is supposed to be recessed in the smokebox door.
Of course! I tried few different designs with a shaft and some girders but it protruded out the side to much so I remove it for the overall looks of the train 😑
Hello dear author, can you please tell me the name of the mod in which you change the appearance of the wheels? In the create mod and its addons there is no such change window
I can't seem to find the hull block anywhere in my pack. I'm using the steam and rails one but I can't find it. Any ideas? The mod pack I'm using is create perfect world by Mr beardstone.
@@MadenPlay(deep breath) (sigh) The Polar Express is a 2-8-4 Berkshire steam engine. Two leading wheels, eight drivers, and four trailing wheels. You do what you want with your design, but if you're gonna do something like this - with an actual real-life basis - it's better to stick with the original.
@@jamesgroccia644 I am aware of that it's 2-8-4 engine but to translate something into Minecraft I have to consider balancing the aesthetic and proportions to accurate details as well, which is why I go for the larger extra wheels on leading and trailing because the accurate 2-8-4 is weirdly small in Minecraft. Do apologize if I forgot to mention this in a video.
Thank you for pointing it out as many others! I do have reason to not make it inaccurate to the real Baldwin engine I find the trailing and leading wheels to be too small with 2-8-4 given the options we have so I focus on making it look good proportionally in Minecraft form and keep the aesthetic of the train. Do apologize, apparently I forgot to mention this in the video :)
Only Polar Express fans will like The Polar Express RU-vid video Edit: Polar Express fan would have to ride a real Polar Express also known as Pere Marquette 1225 train or you can name it The North Pole Express
Just want to point this out, if you have bogey options, the polar express is a Berkshire type loco, so it has 2 lead wheels, 8 drivers and 4 trailing wheels
Could you please make Union pacific big boy #4014 with the 8-wheeled bogeys. oo⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️-⚫️⚫️⚫️⚫️ the O's and circle's are the wheel arrangement. 4-8-8-4.
Hello again, I'm playing in 1.19.2 now and what key bind did you press to select the bogey type? Stuff were different in older versions edit: oh wait nevermind I was just missing some mods haha 😂
I don't use modpacks, I installed the mod individually. All the mods are in the descriptions and they have forge versions you can search up the same name in curseforge
You are the first other person I’ve seen use andesite door as small separating wall in the locomotive cab after me, I hope that little detail gets more known, because I think it makes any cab look 20x better. Very nice train.
Thank you, glad you like the train! I'm actually not the first person to use the door technique, I'm sure I've seen it from quite a few creative builder on steam 'n' rails discord so credit goes to them :)
@@MadenPlay maybe that was my train then, if it was the Big’o’Steve you saw it from, cool to see you noticed it since I haven’t heard anybody else talk about it, and you’ve implemented it so well into your design. Never expected it to be noticed but I’m glad you did.
@@idkusername2795Oh yes! I just re-checked, it really was your train the Big'o'Steve from the extended bogeys submission! Thank you for the technique I'll give you the credit in the description :)
I just noticed u still took the time to put in the credits even tho I told you u can not, sweet of you. Excited for the second part of the vid, I always enjoy your trains.
Ah yes! I have that installed but I didn't really like their cowcatcher design that much so I didn't use it 😅 apparently I forgot to mention it too, thanks for a reminder!
how do i put those mods together cuz i use curseforge when i create modpacks for myself and since 2 of the 3 mods in this video aren't from curseforge i dont know what to do
I tend to use mods that work for both forge and fabric so that everyone can follow my tutorial Extended Bogeys doesn't work on Fabric at the time while I make this video
Looks amazing, only thing thats bugging me is the wheel configuration. Sorry, about to rant as a locomotive enthusiast, so apologies in advance. Polar Express, based off Pere Marquette 1225, has whats known as a Berkshire configuration. Meaning 2 leading wheels, 8 driving wheels, and 4 followers. I know you might be limited by the leading wheels due to creates train bogeys, but the follower issue can be fixed by replacing the 6 wheel truck under the cabin of the locomotive with a 4 wheel one. And maybe the front can be fixed by paneling or something to hide them better under the pistons. Looms amazing otherwise in getting the look and feel of it
Thank you, that would be very helpful if anyone would try to make it accurate to the real engine! It's funny because I actually started out first thing by placing 2-8 and of course 4 trailing wheels from one of the steam 'n' rails bogies, but when I build the rest of the engine then I realize it looks ridiculously small 😅 Hope I can come back and fix it later, if we ever get more wheel sizes or addons though :)
Polar express only has two wheels in the front not four. It’s a 2-8-4 Berkshire, and there is a real train in Owosso Michigan it’s based off of. Pere Marquette 1225, runs from Owosso to Ashley and back for a nice roughly 2 hour train ride.
Thank you for pointing it out!
Hello, wonderful build! However, I tried to build it, I downloaded the 3 mods and i cant cycle through the bogey types. Could you enlighten me on how to place the 3-axle bogey on the tracks? Thanks, Lefteris.
Hello and thank you :) so make sure that you have steam 'n' rails installed, then in-game you would press and hold alt key while holding a train casing, the interface should come up
@@MadenPlay Your welcome! Its a little bit confusing because I only can place the standard bogeys and the "comically large" one. Is there a special button combination to place them or another mod that I have to install? I have the Create, Create deco and Create: Steam 'n' Rails running on forge. Is this the problem? Thanks again forr your help!
