Minecraft Pro Plays Terraria for the First Time 

Edit: I will not be continuing my Terraria series. The spoilers and backseating have really ruined the game for me. I can't find it in me to get excited for any of the bosses anymore since I'm basically spoiled on all of them at this point lol (Hell, some have even started spoiling the Calamity mod bosses). And I've received countless comments of people harassing me for playing the game in Normal rather than Expert/Master, and tons of comment forcing me to play a certain way. I still like Terraria, don't worry. But I feel that I have to finish it off-stream if I want to continue liking it, so that's what I'm going to do. Remember not to call Terraria as "2D Minecraft", people were really mad when I made that joke once heh. I'll be livestreaming every Sunday, Wednesday and Saturday 1PM GMT, but it won't *only* be Minecraft, I'll be streaming variety. And if you're wondering, no, I didn't quit Minecraft, anytime I say that in this video, it's as a joke, I'm just a bit burnt out from it so I wanna mix things up a bit for now. :)

Randomly found this video and as someone with 1700+ hours in terraria I have to say you are doing pretty well! The game is incredible, it has an enormous amount of content and with so many types of weapons you won't get bored for a long time. Additionally terraria wasn't afraid to add lots of furniture and even paint so you still have a lot of options when building The main problem with terraria is getting started. The guide npc helps by giving out hints but there's a lot that you need to learn on your own. That makes the game more special in a different way though If you want to continue you should build houses for npcs and slowly prepare for bosses.And most importantly, have fun!

I’m a Terraria veteran who recently got back into the game after losing a terraria hardcore world (master difficulty, meaning most difficulty aspects are tripled), and seeing Xay just gush at the game has made my day. I’ll call it my reward for finishing finals. Also is it a coincidence I just got back into terraria yesterday specifically and this was posted YESTERDAY?

One of favorite things that I love about Terraria is that the devs will actually listen to their community. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think someone suggested to add poo blocks and they actually added them.

I Hope this becomes a series. Having played both games on and off since around 2012 or 2013, Terraria can give you the biggest rushes when you unlock more progression, and the boss fights get so crazy by the end you sometimes need to mine out flat Arena's to fight them. TLDR; I've beaten this game twice before, and i hope you have a fun time on your journey

You can kill the guide, but you need to get his voodoo doll first, which can only be obtained by digging into literal hell and killing a demon carrying one. If you equip it, you can hurt him. If you drop it in lava, it kills him instantly, but watch out. Alternatively, you can craft a flymeal, but you need 5 stinkbugs, a gold/platinum broadsword, and be near honey. The flymeal can hurt any npc.

Two minutes in and he's already pissed at the Guide for opening doors at night. Truly the Terraria experience

Very cool stuff! If you're ever interested, consider trying out Starbound. It can be summed up as "Terraria in space", but with it's own mechanics, gameplay and even lore.

Terraria has thousands of times more content than Minecraft and more mechanics, so many things to do. If you get mods it can literally change all the mechanics of the game and add way more, it's absurd. It's like if Minecraft listened to it's fans

I love how he immediately gets a good first impression when he's told that he can drag the sun Also put walls, a light source and furniture (aka a chair and a table) in the house and make another house, then get some money so the merchant can spawn When the merchant spawns i recommend going for the mining helmet so you barely need torches (you still need them for making suitable houses tho)

It's kind of insane how many Quality of Life improvements Terraria has over Minecraft. Not even going into the gameplay loop of Loot > Fight Boss > Progress, but just the QOL things, like the fact of items stacking up so high, you can quickly stack items into and out of chests with a single click, trees completely fall down by breaking the trunk, GRAPPLING HOOKS. And every time Terraria updates, they add SO MUCH NEW STUFF, new items, new furniture, new weapons and armor, new enemies, new bosses, new biomes, updates to biomes that have meaning. Meanwhile Minecraft has a "vote" where you get a chance to add one of three mobs, or a forgettable update to a single biome.

If you haven't died to the dungeon guardian you haven't experienced terraria. Lets be real, it needed to happen.
