READ before you build this or if you’re having no mob spawns problems. 1. This farm will NOT work if you build it exactly the way he does in this video due to the AFK platform height. Build or move your AFK platform, depending what stage of the build you’re currently at to: Y190. (I originally built mine at Y200 like he said to and got zero drops after 20mins of AFK. The reason it will not work at AFK position of Y200 is the Mobs will de-spawn 6 blocks above the killing platform of hoppers in midair.) Mobs will automatically de-spawn when they’re more than 128 blocks away from you. 2. At Y190 I got 314 Gun powder and 22 string with 20 mins of AFK. That’s about 942 or 14.7 stacks per hour, with about a stack of string. Plenty for my needs. I played around and changed the half slab & Trap doors to pillars to Glass, and it really didn’t impede the spider rates that much. 3. Recommendations: -Place torches on the spawn platforms as you build and leave them and install ceiling trap doors as you go. Leave yourself a dirt escape path off the bottom spawn platform. Hopefully you have your elytra or drop into the water if you built over a deep ocean. -Do not place the water buckets in the dispensers as go, like he mentions in the video, until you’re done with roof and timer clock. You’ll have problems and will have to dig back down and reset the whole thing. I found out the hard way. -Use bottom slabs for the roof saves a lot of resources buttons are expensive unless you have a bamboo farm. -Build an item/water elevator using a dropper and soul soil bubble column to bring all your drops up to your AFK platform. Easier, plus you get to see your farm in action, well the drops at least. -I Increased the dimension of the roof from x13 to x26 (Think this helps with the pack spawning) -After you install the last dropper above the observer on the roof, grab your 8 buckets of water and dig down to each spawn platform and install the water buckets. Repair the ceiling as you work your way all the down to the 1st platform and leave the torches. Clear away your dirt escape path and go back to the roof and turn the timer clock on. Most of the torches will end up in your collection system. 4. TheySix does state in the video at 0:20 “NOTE (IMPORTANT) if you’re Playing on 1.19, I recommend you to start the building at Y-100.” Based on the mob spawn rules, this should allow the farm to function as expected. 5. TheySix- if you have an IMPORTANT recommendation, please build the farm per that recommendation bro. The way you built the farm in the video didn’t work for me. 6. I know I’m beating a dead horse, but I have to say it: 9000 drops per hour is click bait - false advertising bro, this is an easy way to start losing folks. If your farms work well, people will mention you in videos etc. (how I found you) and will seek you out legit. Final Thoughts: The video looks and sounds great as always! I was a little confused at 2:09 when you said: “then make 8 rings in total up to the top.” I built it wrong first and left out a ring. I basically had to count all the rings you made several times to get this right. In situations like this pausing the video and providing a pulled back shot of the construction would be outstanding and helpful to your viewers. A great example of this is what you did at 6:28. Also, the more detailed you are in the build process, the less likely we are to make mistakes and leave negative comments etc. All in all, the farm will work great once you get the spawn height set correctly, everything else I mentioned is just added spice. absoloutely astonishing farm ! detailed schematics and farm works great. Only thing for future viewers to keep in mind is that you should put the roof trapdoors and water buckets before building the main farm roof

The order of which you do the steps is quite interesting. I recommend putting the trapdoors on top when you build the layer. It's faster and also you don't have to risk blowing yourself up and all the things around you when doing it later on.

Great video! here a personal tip to all people building the farm if you have difficulties with the slabs&Trapdoor pattern: i like to orientate myself with the glass. one slab directly touches the left glass block of the two glass placed at the end of the platform. from that slab, you simply go two blocks down, place another slab, then go two left and place the third slab. for this approach, you obviously need to place the glass before though. i also find it easier to incorporate the glass while building the platforms, instead of replacing it :)

This is incredible. Definitely an end game kind of farm. Would recommend putting the trap doors layer by layer, and if you have night vision huge plus, because the farm gets very dark. I AFK for 2-3 minutes and got nearly a full stack. Highly recommend the build, and I'm on 1.20 beta. Also huge plus is shuckler boxes and a elytra.

this farm was is pretty good, for anyone who is building the farm there are some really easy improvements that you can find in the comment section, also place the trapdoors while building the layers cause if you don't it can get kind of annoying placing them at the end.

pro tip: when building this farm place all of the trapdoors before putting the roof on. all the mobs will spawn and you will not have a good time trying to place everything

I actually came from ANOTHER vid with the same schematic of creeper farm. But this one does an amazing job of explaining each step and providing a clear view of all the parts. I will be making a response vid about this one on my channel, but I wanted to give my thanks personally for providing a good instructional video.

Love it! I made it but without trapdoors or slaps because I wanted a mobfarm. If anyone is having problems with poor drops jus lower the afk spot like 15 blocks, at Y200 my mobs were despawning like 3 blocks before the hoppers. I also put soul campfires instead of carpets.

A big problem that I was having is that its not working. To fix this I did 2 things. 1st thing I did was extend the repeater red stone clock until there's a 4 block gap between the longest extent of the roof on both sides, 2nd is just make the roof square (you should use slabs since it costs less than a bunch of buttons and blocks). Hope this helped!

One question: i wanna build it in 1.19 ans you said you recommend building it then on y lvl 100, but if I want to build like 15 layers the top will reach probably like y lvl 180 or something like that. Do i still have to build the afk platform at y lvl 200?

If you get like 5 gunpowders total after 20 minutes try to afk in y-150 it works for me and im in in 1.20.1

Note: this farm does not work on Bedrock. The water system that is. Instead place a cat with a nametag in the middle and trap it between 4 trapdoors and a slab above it. (Make sure to trapdoor the outer blocks so creepers run off). Doesnt go as fast but still produces a fair amount of gunpowder.

Hey there, I have done everything the tutorial says. I have triple checked the placement of slabs and trapdoors, but still spiders are spawning. (1.19.3) I was wondering if it was a glitch as they seem to be spawning on top of the trapdoors

Great tutorial! The farm works well, and it has great drop rates. My only problem with it is that you shouldn't put the roof on until you have the trapdoors put down. It's a nightmare to place trapdoors when you have creepers constantly spawning. The farm works great, but just keep that in mind before creating the farm.

I see that you reply so I am gonna try to ask here. While bulding from your recommendation at Y = 100, I found out that after making 8 rings with the water platform above it (part 4:44), few blocks are freezing due to the biome (I did not expect that it could freeze or that I am at the warm / cold biome border). Might this be any sort of a problem for my bulding? I am not gonna continue building b4 you replay, thank you!

This farm is an absolute BEAST! I built 9 Layers without the trapdoors and now it gave me around 8 stacks of gunpowder, 32 strings (somehow), 5 stacks of bones and 7 stacks of rottenflesh after only a short 20 minute afk session! I am definitely looking forward in building more or/and converting the killing chamber into a manual one so I can use looting!

Really great farm but please tell us earlier that you need 4 of these for the 9000+ per hour and also place trapdoors when building the layers so mobs dont spawn.

For some reason I’m getting very poor drops, only ~20 per hour. I built the farm in a cold ocean but made sure all of the caves were flooded/spawn proofed. followed the rest of the tutorial perfectly as far as I know. I also made sure to set my render to 7 while I afk. Any suggestions on improving rates?

note to anyone trying to build this: MAKE EXTRAS. you will lose glass without a silk touch pickaxe and you will misplace items due to the sheer amount of them you need to collect

I realised spiders can spawn in the middle 3x3 where the dispenser is so I placed a slab so spiders can't spawn there

Maybe you could tell at the begin of the video that you are suposed to build 4 of them to get 9000+ gunpowder. Now i gotta do it 3 more times for all the powder i tought i would get by one farm.

Hey there! I used this farm a TON a while back and i got so much gunpowder! However coming back to it in 1.20.4 (Java), it still runs but much much much less efficently. I often feel like the creepers only spawn when i leave the afk spot to go down and check how much gunpowder i have gotten. Any new updates to the designe to fix this probelm? My afk spot is 118 blocks above the base of the farm, does that need to be changed? Thanks

its a great farm but a few of the steps should be switched around dealing with creepers while trying to place trap doors and fill dispensers is a difficult task

The farm seems good, it's just you should have said to put the trapdoors first before the roof.

Another way to get the creepers off the platform without dispensers is to put a cat in the middle and trapdoors on the edges. Just be sure to name tag them so they don't despawn, though I don't think tamed cats despawn.

I built the farm the exact right way. Quadruple checked. I turned my render and simulation distance down to 8 and keep trying to afk but I get nothing when I afk. I know the thing is working cus when I fly down to the farm it starts spawning creepers. Do you think I'm out of the mob spawning range? I built the room at y=200 like you said. Any guesses?

I have a question. I built this farm in 1.19 for 25 layers (as mentionned in the video) and the top of the farm is already far above y=200. Where should I build the afk platform?

I built mine exactly how you did and yet im getting almost no creepers or gunpowder. I built it in 1.18.2 in a cold ocean collection system y =63 and afk room y=187. I did build mine not in a deep ocean, and about 200 blocks from land. Do i have to light up all those areas to make it work?

Hi there, Java 1.19.3 Player here. With the Redstone clock, once I turned it on, it didn't dispense the water properly because the repeater changed back to being deactivated after a second. This caused for the observer to be reactivated so that the water from the dispenser only went about 2 blocks before disappearing, what can I do to fix this?

I play on java 1.19.3 so I start the build at Y=100 like you say in the video, but my farm ends at Y=180 and you set the AFK level at y=200, I need to go up 100 blocks more or I need the afk point to y=200 that is only 20 block over the end of the farm? Thanks and sorry for my bad english

It was great for my server and helped me a lot but i messed it up in between but fixed it with some mechanics but thank a lot though!!

How to fix spider spawning : When placing the glass, instead of placing one near the slab, place it in the midlle of the 3x3 area. To be more specific, where there is two adjacent glass, keep the one in the end and swap the side of the second glass with the block on the other side. And for the alone one, just put it in the middle bloc of the edge of the platform. In summary, keep the pattern (timecode : 6:29 ) but instead of turning counterclockwise , do it clockwise ! I hope it can help some of you guys !

question, what simulation distance do you need it to be? And do you exactly need to build up 200 blocks up in the air (not the cords)

Do I need to have the afk room if i have spawnproofed everything? Wouldn't the creepers spawn normally in that case? I would much rather have my farm in the background while i do other stuff below it instead of having to afk

i built 25 layers and creepers are also spawning but the water from floors fall to the platform where creepers fall and stops them to go into the hole(the fence gate area). Do i need to increase the number of repeaters or any other kind of change? Please tell. Even with 25 floors i made my afk spot at 200 Y do i need to increase it? I am at 1.20.1 and my render chunks are 10(i dont know if these things matter)

So I built this farm with my friend. Your tutorial was extremely unclear. We struggled quite a lot, because the way you explain your stuff is trash. Also the order you built the farm was chosen badly. I really disliked, that you say it produces about 9000/hour, but thats only when you build 4 of them with the max amount of platforms. But at least it works, but not as good as promised.

I Made this farm with a total of 28 layers on 1.20.1 (hypixel smp). It produces around 600 powder per/h. The lowest point of the farm is y = 100 and highest y 218 and therfore i afk at y = 228 (render distance 8, sim distance 10). No spiders spawn and the farm has no other problems in its build. Is there anything im missing, afk hight? Please help

if i want to make 4 farms how would it be positioned next to each other its not clear in the video. do i place them so the water circles touch or something else?

After the RIngs, what you mean about that 1 block going up. Are you meaning that you place the next area on the height of this 1 block or above this 1 block?

so i just built this in my world and i was on 1.20 but in the video it said “go up to y-100 and start building if your on 1.19” and so just in case i did that to get better rates. So would that be good to do that?

I built it on my 1.16.5 hardcore world and even though I put max entity distance on it only works really slow. 6 hours of afk at y 200 brought me 5 stacks. (I built 20 layers). How can I fix this or is it really only working in 1.19 as the title suggests?

Im from 1.19.4. Everyting works good! I was worried about this farm, but after building im glag that decided to make it like yours! Really simple, expandable and easily modifiable farm. 10/10 in my opinion. And i cant understand people who say that farm does not work 🤨🤨

So I built my farm on bedrock. But I made I work by turning around the observers and putting the timer at the bottom of the build. So now it works perfectly fine on bedrock.

Looking to make this farm as Part of a build if instead of building a massive roof I use stained glass around it instead will it still work the same?

figured out my problem, I was at y lvl 250 and not 200. after you make that change the farm works wondersssss

If you afk at y 200 then the mobs despawn before dying to fall dmg because the spot they are supposed to die on is 135 blocks away, outside of the 128 mob range.

The dispensers seem to not be working I have set every repeater to the correct tick (4) and I have turned on the subtractor for the compractor im not sure if i did something wrong (im playing a server with 18-20 people sometimes online btw. Hopefully you can help me thanks. Note: I found the problem the observers are upside down lol.

This is a good farm and it works but guys build the main roof last I bulit before I put the water in so everything spawn so it was a nightmare but good video still! Keep it up

what should the render distance be? as well as the simulation distance?

Ive built it as you have, however no matter how many times i replace and resort the water dispenser its not working at all. Playing on JAVA 19.3, creepers are spawing fine its just the dispensers.

I would recommend saying that the 9000 per hour rate is when you build 4 modules at the beginning of the video.

on the spawning platform can you replace spider blocking slab and trapdoor with glass in the floor and trapdoor in the roof?

What is the glass for placed in specific locations? It prevents mobs spawning on it, but for what reason?

i think i have did the same thing as you did but turned up my farm got problems at the water flow. where's the water goes down from each platform. as i knew, water can travel up to 7 block. but still the water flow goes down to another platform where's the creeper can climb up the water. Second, i've afk for a while to see the results but there's nothing. the redstone item didnt works for me and i need to do it manually where's i need to push the lever to open the water system. i tried to fix it same like you did, but still the redstone doesnt work. hope you can help me. btw im playing at java 1.19.

I have a portal at the collection system because my base is far away. Should I spawn proof it? Or is it not needed to be spawn proofed
