actuly I think it sota is. if you pull every item out of the container you could count them one by one on a presure plate with like a hopper minecart. also afterwords you could put the items back

If giant containers were made they could have special "terminals" on the sides which output their comparator signal strength to defer the problem onto them (yay).

@@Door_Maker the only way to read containers is using comparators, but since this is comparatorless that's not gonna happen

@@CraftyMasterman how not , you can place blocks inside container trough them goes redstone using repeaters , then you can turn in digital values using coder and then digital to analog , obiosly it wont have same space like chests or other but it should work

Honestly yeah it’s kinda scary how closely it resembles that sort of thing. But most redstone looks that way to be honest lol

That’s actually nostalgic, I remember when repeaters didn’t exist and I used that torch strategy to make a tnt cannon.

You forgot about the locking repeater function which makes it way harder

The repeated should be easy, you just need 2 Redstone torches

@@devonstaggs9470 you're forgetting the "lock" function, that almost nobody uses, but it is there!

@@helistorm98 but only repeaters can use the lock function and he said "repeaters without comparators or repeaters"

@@weirdtreats4855 and only comparators have the subtract function, but that doesn't make it impossible to recreate

you don't. people have been building logic gates in minecraft for ages, since long before comparators were added

@@nicolefischer1504 Because all of the comparator functions work on redstone signal strength you can can use one comparator instead of building a 4 bit subtractor or magnitude comparator (without A = B) so in those cases comparators can cut down on a lot of gates. Comparators can also be really useful for making compact logic gates

If he made giant versions of inventory blocks with a way of interfacing with the comparator, he could do it.

@@maxthexpfarmer3957 Not really, no; because that part about "with a way of interfacing with the comparator" isn't possible without using an actual comparator. The best you could do is maybe drop the items onto weighted pressure plates and then do the math on the results, but then the items would despawn after 5 minutes unless you recycle them. If they despawn, then the comparator would only work for 5 minutes and then break; if you recycle them, it would make the signal flicker.

@@IceMetalPunk I meant make a giant Chest that has Comparators reading whatever Blocks it internally uses for storage (like Barrels) and then sends that information to the giant Comparator through a Redstone signal.
