Minecraft content has always been popular on RU-vid and was the first genre to ever reach 1 trillion views. But as of recently, there has been a lot of dissatisfaction with the current state of Minecraft RU-vid. Minecraft SMP content, the most popular type of MC content right now, is on a decline as it becomes repetitive and unoriginal. So what's wrong?

Like Taking over the earth in minecraft and Wilber Soot's MC Earth. Not Like ParrotX2 and his LifeSteal SMP Series where he broke bedrock or blew up 2000 TNT. Not Tubbo / TommyInnit / or any other Dream SMP member. This is a new and original Minecraft idea like HermitCraft or LastLife with Grian and MumboJumbo. Survival is harder than Hardcore Minecraft because PVP is on.

Hermitcraft is standing strong and doesn’t look like it’s falling anytime soon Dream SMP was too ambitious and they should’ve ended way sooner than they did and then created a new season if they wanted Lifesteal fell as fast as it rose

Exactly the reason Hermitcraft thrives, the server is built around the fact that they're all friends, their individual popularity does not affect how the show is running, so the interaction was more natural and engaging. The members also mostly consist of grown adults, which significantly reduces the amount of unnecessary drama. They're also strictly PG friendly, making younger audience easier to get into. In contrast, Dream SMP (my perspective as someone who never watched them, you can see this as the reason why I'm not into them) was built around big names, like the late Technoblade (RIP) and Dream himself, naturally they are much vulnerables to controversy, also, when the core member wasn't there, it's hard to see them as one solid group, you can really feels it after Techno passed away and Dream got too much drama and controversy, rn most the members I know are focusing their personal career, which is good for them, but as a group, they are falling apart. The members are also generally younger creator with a lot of swearing, a trait that stopped being funny until you're 15.

I feel like a reason why hermitcraft ain't dying, is because it's chill. It isn't trying to be popular, it just wants to be with friends. Sure, there are new idea's to spice things up, but at the end, it is just a bunch of non-sweaty goober's having a good time :)

It's less that SMP content is dying and more it's that it's going back to the levels (and speed) of innovation that we had back pre-pandemic. A lot of younger and smaller creators are expecting height of hype DSMP levels popularity immediately, not realizing that if it weren't for the surrounding circumstances a lot of 2020-2022 SMPs wouldn't have taken off half as fast or as strongly as they did. Everyone just needs to slow down, play with their friends in a way they enjoy, and understand that odds they become famous are very very low

the thing about newer smps is that there is no story line its just mostly a copy of other smps and even if they have a storyline it is very very similar to the other smps. dsmp and lifesteal were good because they had a unique story line which was enjoyble for any watcher. Newer smps should try to make their content better for the viewers
