Obviously, Netlix's looks better, because it's a remake. But also, we know that the Netflix version isn't a game, while Story Mode itself is. But yeah, again, they did a great job enhancing the visuals.
So the one on Netflix was just made for watching. And choose choices of what the character will say? That's why I reset the original, which is cooler. Yes, I will complete this in 2023, 1 and 2
Having a multi-year long gap between playing the original game and the Netflix version, I never realized they remade the visuals, but it makes sense that they did thinking about it now.
Well Netflix didnt just “let it go” because they wanted to, actually Minecraft Story Mode was Netflix’s most viewed interactive movie, but Telltale Games the game company who made mcsm filed for bankruptcy causing there games licenses to be taken so Netflix had to take it down
The Netflix version just isn't the same, it was just pressing text options. I remember playing the demo in ps3 and during the sections where you could move around felt so special. The QTEs during a tense scene felt so engaging. I loved it but I never really got a full copy for some reason. I wanted to know what happened after they found the ruined base but never even bothered watching videos for it because I understood it wouldn't feel the same that way.
Dude same! I play on the Netflix version and it all felt so off! Like cutting off my fav scenes! And choosing just two options? What’s with that!? So I never got the chance to finishing it 😢
I think the Netflix one is pre-rendered, so it has better graphics, but its art direction was lost in the process since they didn't have the same artists
@@ChuckSploder i mean the game already actually has better graphics then vanilla Minecraft if you look close and compare, but the netflix version isnt running on a game engine so they can make it look as real as they want
@@sansdw7723 bruh, Netflix doesn't have gameplay, you only choose the answers, while the original game gives you more choices and freedom in exploration
I personally prefer the video game. Yes, I was introduced to it via Netflix but I like the lighting better in the game. I also really don’t like how a lot of things were removed in netflix, such as a lot of the choices and the swearing. There were even a few small scenes that were removed.
I liked the lighting better in the Netflix version, but I don’t like that for some reason the frame rate seems worse than the game. Also got rid of the old subtitles which I liked.
I remember MCSM, such a good game, too bad it got taken down from netflix and telltale games😔😔, it was one of the only games and series that actually made me emotional lol
oh yeah, good point, they could always buy it back but that would probably cost a lot. I think the new Telltale isn't gonna buy every IP as they did in the old Telltale days. (That's what got them bankrupt in the first place.) What the new Telltale is doing is making original games, they might do one or two collaborations but I don't think it's gonna be crazy or anything.@@FrizzOnDaEditzz
I think they did a pretty good job with there being less glitches (obviously) because its not running on a game engine but yk dialogue audio being more clearer if you compare to the actual game, and new animations and scenes etc
i miss both! tbh if mcsm returned, they better use netflix graphics cuz ITS AWESOME also the scene at like 5:02 for the netflix version should be in the game like actually
Im an OG, and I think it goes back and forth in quality. some shots look better in the game, but then other shots look better in the netflix version. I still prefer the OG though.
I did the Netflix version when I was younger, and I kinda wish there was more Netflix episode, I remember seeing the 5th episode, and being so excited for Season Two, and it never came, and I was very, very, disappointed.
1:10 the original game looks a lot better here imo, the nighttime lighting is better and the wither storm is farther away yet retains its massive scale
I have played the first season on my PS3, still got the disc. That game was a masterpiece. I also got to finish the second season before it was deleted...
@@BilbsyMore no, just pay attention to the wither storm parts, they seem darker and more terrifying in the game version than in the netflix version which is supposed to look better (which it does but in this case i feel like the game does it better)
A small detail about the Magnus/Ellegard’s death scene in the Netflix version of the game is they actually made them die by disappearing in smoke which is more accurate to deaths in normal Minecraft and the deaths of the Minecraft Story Mode
5:05 I have such a eerie vibe when I see this, in the Netflix version it makes it look like Jesse thinks he’s gonna die and he just accepts it, this never happens in the game. The music change makes it weirder too
Honestly, why Netflix removed Minecraft story mode, yeah, it was a bit cringe and when I first started watching it, and saw the start where you have to choose characters or something, and 11 year old me thought it was dogshit. Then a day later, I decided to watch it, watching episode 2 and it hooked me in. Then, when I finished watching all the episodes, I watch episode 1 and understood. Looking back, the nostalgia is strong. I remember when I was watching it, I was wondering why the characters can’t go into creative mode? Silly 11 year old me, those were the days.
@@Tyresaurusmy guess is they had the right to have it on their platform for a certain time, then it ran out. a company dying doesn't mean that the contract would be null and void.
I don't know much about the Story Mode... yet, but from what i know is that Netflix Version is rendered, per events and chapters. While the game version is actually rendered in real time using the hardware of your device (that being Xbox, Playstation, Wii U or Nintendo Switch or whatever.)
It’s really just a slightly interactive, way dumbed down tv show. You don’t have any control over anything but a few voice lines. Even the few choices of the original are stripped away. I managed to find a physical copy of the game on switch, I’ve had way more fun. Also, I’m pretty sure the Netflix version was remove a while back.
though the netflix one looks better on the contrary of looks, i think the original fits the enviorment more, its dark and mysterious, unlike the gloomy warm lighting the other one has.
Minecraft: Story Mode Netflix. A true legacy to the fallen game. It sadly was remove on January 1st 2023 and is the first interactive on Netflix to be removed :(
It was actually removed the 5th December of 2022 and I saw it disappear right I when went to see if it was removed and it didn’t but then an error happened but that error was the remove of the series
@@Mrjukesy I heard they got bought out by another company (which specific one I don’t remember), and I’m hoping they at least remaster the series. I also deeply hope I’m not misinformed on telltale being bought out by another company…
I really wish they finished the Netflix version of Minecraft Story Mode, it was really fun to replay the game that way and it just never got the second story of the first season. It also never got season 2. It's a shame, really
@@dracula0 40 minutes later, I have new information. It was removed in December last year, so it's already long gone, but an archive project here on RU-vid is keeping the Netflix version alive
It's Sad the Game got discontinued and Gone off Netflix. The only free ways to play MCSM is getting a Physical Copy on the Console Or getting "The Complete Adventure" Copy of the Game. That's the only ways.
Seriously though, when I noticed him ready to sacrifice himself I was genuinely surprised, I didn't know they changed scenes I just thought they increased the graphics quality and removed non dialogue gameplay
Hate the fact that in netflix version you can only pick like 2 options for out of 4 there is only like a couple times you can pick 3 options never 4 like in the orginal game
they weren't able to. they ran out of money and couldn't afford to run the servers or pay the workers, so they shut down. although I still wish they didn't run on investors. You can find a video on it somewhere.
Disappointing right, but the thing is Netflix didn’t just “get rid” of it. The developers (Telltale Games) filed for bankruptcy in 2018 causing their license for Minecraft Story Mode the actual game to be unavailable, the small amount of team left finished off the Netflix version which i think was discontinued December 2022.
Nah the original is better. I much prefer the gloomier atmosphere than the Netflix version. Yeah the Netflix version is technically more impressive but it's a lot more over lit and loses some of that atmosphere. ...God speaking critically about this makes me sound so sad.
The Netflix version is definitely better in visuals but not overall. the Netflix version looks better but the original is better overall because the Netflix version only had 5 episodes while the original had 2 whole seasons and also it's more of a gameplay
