It’s simply because actually PLAYING the game, it renders in real time, which cannot always bring the best results. Netflix however, is pre-rendered so you can even play it on a TV. And the lack of choices is clearly because rendering takes a LOT of time, and also connecting all of those MP4 files is (probably) insanely hard work.
They should really bring the original game back and put it in the Minecraft Launcher with the other Minecraft games on PC (and elsewhere for consoles of course). Keep the Netflix one as is for people wanting to play it, but give us the original, Mojang! Please 🙏
@@CelestialStar46 I haven't heard about that. Is that confirmed officially by Netflix? If that is the case, we won't have any more MCSM, as Netflix's version is the only one we can "play".
The only thing better about the Netflix version is it’s more cinematic scope/less rushed animating. After that it’s pretty disappointing. No alternate male/female Jesses, despite still having a male/female choice, weird choices like the one in this video where Lukas is just standing there like a dumbaxe, cutting down on some original game choices while also adding new unnecessary ones like this one in the video, and also ending on a cliffhanger in episode 5. I’d recommend the original (if you can still get it somehow), not this disappointing repeat.
Honestly, I find the Netflix version good; yeah, it's worse in a lot of aspects, but when you take into account all of the limits that come with a Netflix Interactive, it's super impressive that it even exists.
Wow, this really is the Netflix version. They even Race Swapped him too. LOL. For added context, yes, I know that in the original game, Jesse had different skin tones. I'm just doing the Netflix Race Swap Meme.
Visually? Netflix looks better with the lighting and nice shots. But in terms of layout, choices and gameplay? The original was best. We all know the animation in the og can be awkward at times but honestly I’ve grown used to it to where I can look past it lol.
I don’t know why Netflix had to delete Minecraft: Story Mode on December 4, 2022. It was great because I like Minecraft, I thought Minecraft Story Mode 2 was coming soon. but they had to delete it, So sad 😞
in the Netflix version it’s different there’s an option in the video where you can help Lukas or Gabriel and I thought that was funky and I passed out for a minute lol
When I first heard that MCSM will be available on Netflix I thought we will going to play the entire game with a remote controller (if you used an Android TV) but no. They decided to take more focus on cinematic but I still gotta appreciate TellTale for reanimating the game for Netflix while being closed down
original: runs on device (it can get pretty laggy) but overall great game Netflix: pre rendered video that looks great but just a watered down mess compared to the original
So did they just cut out every time the characters say "crap"? While the Netflix version does have nicer lighting and the the few extra animations do look nice, the way the screen goes black for a quick second after you make a choice is a major deal breaker.

Honestly if the netflix version was this bad i don't get why they didn't just make preset choices and then have it be like a long minecraft storymode movie or something and then have alternate versions of episodes to make up for the fact that you can't pick choices
@@KrainXPlayz while it's true the game is gone the disc isn't and there's a full episode edition if I'm not mistaken so the disc still exists if people can still find it
This is very misleading I would say that the demo has just nothing that the original has, the demo has better visuals better, lip syncing, animation… Telltale games should’ve been Netflix interactives I swear
the game has way more episodes, the netflix only has the first 5 episodes of S1, no S2. also more choices, nobody cares about the animation or super good visuals, the gameplay is important
