The game itself isnt shitty, it's the terrible fanbase that gives it a bad reputation.

The game can’t be considered shitty, nor good. It’s revolutionary for sure, but what makes the game good or bad is what people do in it. Minecraft by itself - a sandbox game with a survival mode and multiplayer, is by today’s (and 2009) standards, pretty bad. That’s why it became popular, you can do anything in it and the people can justify what really the game is in their own perspective. Of course, there is a ‘story’ in it that’s actually pretty deep than (((kill big bad dragon))). But I The thing what made it popular in it was because it was a canvas. Everything you make can be bad and good, fantastic or terrible. Everything is subjective. You can make a 4x4 house made out of obsidian and there’s still an excuse for it that it’s abstract. That’s why Roblox got popular. You can make a game IN the game, except that you can actually judge it. Maybe that’s why people want to compare the two games? By gaming standards Minecraft has a pretty damn good fanbase, but when it shined was particularly 2015 and then maybe early to mid 2016. It started to die in popularity in 2014, which made people target the game. But the fanbase tried to fight back, failing badly. Then a cycle began to form: People hate on Minecraft > Fanbase hate back > People make fun of the fanbase >>>>>… (and repeat)
