Welcome to our Minecraft Timelapse - Notre-Dame de Paris
We chose to make this Minecraft Timelapse after seeing a contest on Planet Minecraft, “Preserving World Heritage”. We quickly decided to use the “Notre-Dame de Paris” as our choice in light of the recent events where the iconic church represented in many variances of Cathedral builds across Minecraft and RU-vid, had caught a flame.
Some information on the Notre-Dame de Paris, the direct translation for this is “Our Lady of Paris” which is a Catholic Cathedral in Paris. This is an iconic structure representing French Gothic structures dating back to the 1100’s to 1200’s. This Cathedral was originally damaged in the French Revolution in 1790’s but reconstructed in the largest restoration it had ever seen from 1844 to 1864.

Our Approach:
We decided to take a detailed look at layouts and blueprint images to accurately construct Notre Dame as best as possible in Minecraft ( 1:3 ). The structure took around 80 hours for a solo builder working on it, focusing heavily on the emphasis of the details and attention to style. In order to achieve as accurate details as possible we had 10 hours of planning and prep-work in understanding how to approach the scale of the project and time lapse.
Due to time constraints, we couldn’t tackle the interior in time for the contest, but fear not there will be one made soon to fully complete this build. Maybe as another Minecraft time-lapse, who knows. This build fared us over 120+ man hours over the course of 3 days with 7 - 12 people or so on each day, working for 5 - 8 hours.
In Conclusion:
This was our first step as a company into the RU-vid space officially. We have so much more in store and can't wait to share. We hope you enjoyed our first Minecraft Timelapse and if it doesn’t look perfect, bear with us as we learn the ropes and hope to put out content repeatedly and get better with practice.
