TROUBLESHOOTING: If the horn does not work, there are a few things that might be causing it to not work. First, make sure that you are playing on version 1.12+. Because in previous updates there aren’t that many note block sounds added, it might change the way the train horn sounds, as well as the ability for it to play the sounds. Second, as far as the system itself, make sure that the note blocks are not directly underneath a full block, half slab or anything. Placing blocks over the note blocks will cause it to not play any sound. Third: This is a common issue most people run into, but sometimes the note blocks will not play depending on how close you put the comparator loop to the repeaters that are wired to the note blocks. When I was making and testing the design, I noticed that if you put the comparator loop too close to the repeaters, it will not work either (Important: turn on the comparator torch by right clicking it). I recommend moving the loop back and having it around 5 or more blocks away from the repeaters so that it functions correctly. Also make sure that the redstone torches are connected to each other if you put this design in the cab of a locomotive so that it will play. Additionally, make sure that you have note block sounds on in your ingame settings in order to hear the horns. Enjoy! -Frost
@@JacobHeiseiGojirayashazilla994 thanks, I will have to do that sometime. I think someone else came up with a design for a steam engine whistle, so I might be able to show it to crafty
Thx soo much I really needed this plus I know how to make any size train move in any direction using 6 command blocks 1 forward 1 reverse 1 up(for hills and bridges) 1 down(for hills and bridges) 1 left 1 right
Depending on what kind of locomotive you have, it would be very difficult to put the horn inside the locomotive. I managed to do it with one of my trains, putting the horn inside the train but it’s a tight squeeze wiring all of it.
Good, but have a problem, you forgot K3LA, P3, and Hybrid K5LLA Edit: how do you make the 1st generation K5LLA and 2nd generation K5HL and K5HLL! Note: K5HLL and K5HLB are the same horn!
The K5HLB is a rarer version of the K5HLL. A K5HLL is the same as a 3rd gen K5HL. They’re slightly different because the K5HLB uses a rarer 3B (3L) bell which plays at a frequency of A440Hz. On another note, I have added both the Hybrid K5LLA and the K5HLL as well as the K5HLB to my list of horns. Check top comments for entire list
Hi Craftyfoxe. I can't seem to get the horn working for my locomotive. I followed your tutorial exactly but I don't know why the horn doesn't work. Do you have any ideas for why the horn isn't working?
If it’s the comparator, you have to make sure that the torch behind it is turned on. If the note blocks are underneath other blocks, it won’t produce sound
If you would like to make more train horns, check the top comments in this comment section. I have made a list that I am adding onto with all of the train horns that I’ve made. Requests are for free
Hey CraftyFoxe, My train horn sound is like a clapping sound.. Can you help me what block I need to use on Ipad?? (if you dont have an ipad, think something a block I need to use) Thank you!
Would you know how to make any of these with a button? I’m working on an Amtrak P42 and I’m going with a button since in real life the horn is a button
