Minecraft Animation of a VIA Rail LRC train nearly colliding with a CP Rail Freight train head on in Smith Falls, Ontario, Canada 1993. The engineer jumps out of the cab and the train stops just in time.

In the 90's, that would most likely be a via coming from brockville Ontario. The CP would be F51 going to brockville because CN pays CP to give there cars back from the Smith's falls yard. Via the brockville sub, to then get to Manitoba yard in brockville Ontario.

What I have heard is that the CP train was supposed to stop at a signal and wait for the Via Rail to pass but the CP crew missed or weren't paying attention to the signals, so the CP entered the same block as the LRC and the video shows what happened next.
