Fun fact: Cave Generation back in the older versions of the game such as 1.0, were naturally much larger than the caves in the current versions of the game. Also back in 1.3, CTM maps (complete the monument) were becoming far more popular, and one of the more popular maps at the time, known as "Kaizo Caverns" from the Super Hostile Map series created by a map maker called "vechs" had many largely open caves in the map. So it does make sense for "The guy who hasn't played in 5 years" to believe he has seen this type of cave generation before. Though I will admit the natural cave generation back then was nowhere near as extreme, it was still far larger than caves in versions like 1.17. Why they removed this feature and made caves much smaller I am unsure of. I highly doubt this was actually planned, and is most likely just a very large coincidence, but it is still nice to think about. ^-^

Ways I ensure server longevity/activity: 1. Create special, but fair, rules (ex: map borders) 2. Plan competitions/events or set special achievements with rewards (ex: economic wars) 3. *BECOME THE ANTAGONIST OF THE SERVER* it keeps people on their toes

Also you missed a couple steps: Don't cheat with commands Don't make it all lore. Give the players a chance to get used to the server. I hate it when I join a server and it's all "Oh what side are you on?" Or "Are you getting supplies for the war?" I hate it. You can be the villain yes, but you gotta set up character boundaries with yourself. If your gonna take the villain approach then don't just be "Evil because it's fun." No. Create a meaning of why your evil. If you make it public then set up applications. No one likes a legit public smp. They die too quickly. (*Unless it's an anarchy server or a kit pvp*)

@@goldenskull1667 @Golden Skull Yeah, good point. I never made it too dramatic or serious and would treat my friends based on how wealthy or skillfull they were. And when I say "Villain", I meant like various schemes and pranks (my favorite was herding zombies from a spawner pipe and leading them off to friend's bases). As for "lore", hilariously, we only made lore after the events of our first world. The rest of the other worlds either had really loose lore or barely any. Last point, these worlds were with my friends. Therefore, these rules I made don't necessarily apply public servers.

Why there is not a “mod” type of guy? He is in every friend server: -he always has a texture pack. -forces everyone into installing forge. -and installs 100+ mods to the server. -and while everyone dies from like, a dragon or something he already has some really good modded armour, tools and weapons that make him almost impossible to die, and build like 69 nuclear reactors or some other crazy stuff.

The builder one is decently accurate. It's like: "Wow, house done!" And then i am for few minutes like: "Hmm" and then i tell to my friend how i am thinking about making a 1000x1000 giant castle and they are like: "Bro, it's been 100 minecraft days and you still haven't beaten the dragon" and i just answer: "Yea, oh did you hear about this next build idea i got that would be 1500x2000 blocks?" :D

Being a builder is actually fun. As most of the guys in our server tries to go adventure, I'm the only one left at spawn. I usually decorate it and people would trade blocks for my diamonds. The only netherite I have is my pickaxe hahahahaha
