First swing of the 6" Minelab Equinox coil. Using it at an old school turned community center on my 'Nox 600. Got a little hasty and mixed up my search modes, but was very impressed with the performance of the little coil. Impressive depth!

I really like this coil ... especially for park hunting. It's very quick and has great separation. Since it is so small I've been experimenting with the highest recovery setting (3). This seems to help with the separation as well. Very deep for its size. I now have all three coils and, honestly, most of my detecting time is with the 6-inch coil ... maybe when I get to the coast (beach hunting) I'll go with the 15- inch.

Always wrap the coil cord Over the shaft not underneath.

It can cause false signals it doesnt always I cause problems but if you watch one of the manufacturers videos they will tell you to do the same as well and i believe if you look in the manual it should tell you the same. To each their own though..if it doesnt cause you problems then there's nothing to worry about lol..I just bought the 6 in coil for mine last week and i have gotten where I prefer it unless in a big field or woods

I pretty much only use it in *VERY* trashy environments. The bigger stock coil does good 90% of the time.

Would love to see a test that shows much depth you loose by going to the 6" coil..But should be awesome in trashy areas

Silvar Hunter Absolutely! I just got it 2 days ago and *had* to squeeze in this quick trial. The small coil will probably stay on the 'Nox permanently.

Looks like this will be a killer coil. Hopefully Minelab will bring out other coils like a 9" DD coil and maybe other companies will bring out a range of coils .

68camaro Smaller coils are better for trashy environments. The small coil lets you get between the junk better.
