I didn’t see you ground balance the X Terra Pro like you did the Equinox. Pretty cool that it hung tight with the equinox.
@ifindmetal

I didn’t ground balance either machine , I never do at beach in beach Mode it’s set to zero automatically . I did forget to do a noise cancel on Xterra and I also used the mostly dry sand mode had I used beach 2 it might not have chattered at 23 I will test this again better.

Single frequency will ALWAYS outperform multi-frequency contrary to what some claim. It is the nature of the beast.

This was a HORRIBLE test for a single vs multi machine on a wet sand beach. Let’s see him using the single frequency machine during an entire outing. He would go crazy with all the false signals. Now in dirt, for silver, give me 5khz single frequency machine any day.

Very interesting. I just ordered the X-Terra because it was just to good to pass up at 269.00. It seems to be way better than I expected. I hunt freshwater lakes with my Garrett AT Pro and it's crazy sensitive on small targets. This 269.00 detector might become my main detector. I only bought it because it's I couldn't believe how much detector I could get for 269.00.
@ifindmetal
@ifindmetal Год назад
I run my sensitivity higher than most in salt water with this (18)to the point I will get occasional weak beeps but I also ran it at 15 sense for a bit yesterday and it had zero falsing there , to run beach mode it uses 8 kHz you can’t change frequencies if you are on beach mode but in fresh water I would think you could use the other modes and any frequency like 15khz that would hit small better
@charlesoutdoors2424
@charlesoutdoors2424 Год назад
@ifindmetal I just got the detector yesterday and ran it in park 2 because that only discriminates out iron and 15 herzt. Just what's needed for jewelry. Found a Stainless ring and some coins. Was getting small foil pieces plenty deep. This detector does everything my At Pro does and more for freshwater hunting. I could spend 1100-1400 dollars on a detector and it wouldn't give me anything more for hunting in freshwater. Minelab really hit back hard against the Simplex. Can understand why Nokta is upset.

On the Nox, beach 2 should be used when detecting in the water. Beach 1 is for wet sand, it's also more sensitive to low conductors than beach 2.
@ifindmetal
@ifindmetal Год назад
Everything I read on Beach 1 was Dry sand at salt beach for Nox and 2 was wet sand /water , but with this X-terra pro it says 1 for dry and wet and 2 for submerged water . I will go back and do another better test where I noise cancel both and do both beach modes , trying to do in water this early is pointless because the deposits aren’t there at this beach it was just replenished ( dredged ) this past winter with ten feet plus of sand
@p1315
@p1315 Год назад
@@ifindmetal It's probably been a long time since you checked the Nox's manual, I know it has for me, but it says right in there that Beach 1 is for "Wet/Dry" sand and Beach2 is for "Underwater/Surf". Honestly, any mode works on completely dry sand and when it comes to finding gold with the 600 on dry sand, Park 2 and Field 2 work the best. Do an air test and you'll see that those 2 will pick up small gold way better that all the other modes...by a good margin. HH

Friend, between the Xterra pro and the equinox 600, which one do you recommend?
@ifindmetal
@ifindmetal 9 месяцев назад
Well the 600 has advantages of using 3 frequencies at once but some would debate that it even helps , it definitively is super stable in saltwater , the Xterra pro has multiple frequencies also but only selectable 1 at a time , it’s decently stable in salt water too , the $600 costs around $600 US the Xterra is $279 US . The Xterra can use its line of coils or any of the ones for the Equinox as well where as the Equinox cannot use the Xterra coils. , if you have the money get the 600 if you don’t the Xterra will work great

@@ifindmetal Depth tests seem about the same on the X-TERRA PRO, Equinox and Manticore, I'm thinkin the one inch smaller coil on the X-Terra Pro may have more depth allowing for a higher sensitivity adjustment, not sure? I may just buy the 11" coil, I bought the Nokta Simplex six months ago but never used it, tho it may have more depth than the new Simplex Ultra as it works with 12MHz, I think Nokta is crazy raising the frequency to 15MHz. I think its funny how people compare the x-terra device like the *equnox600+* and say its better when you can just change the multi frequency to a single frequency like the x terra. i don't understand peoples logic. @@Grunty_Thirst yes at the beach in the salt water and heavy black sands it ( for me so far ) has operated the same I don’t obsess over the VDIs being rock stable like everyone else the thing with the Xterra is almost every person runs the gain too high you do not need the sens set high to get good depth with it The 8 kHz seems to work great in the water which is the biggest test I still use my 600 mostly because it’s got the shortest warranty time left

@@ifindmetal but what's the difference of the 8khz on the xterra vs the equnox? because on the equnox you can pick if you want all frequency used at once or you can use one at a time like the xterra. does the xterra have better software/algorithm for finding metals?
@ifindmetal
@ifindmetal 2 месяца назад
@@Grunty_Thirst the processor is definitely faster on the Xterra it’s only working on a single frequency at once , you can tell it’s faster by the startup alone when you turn on your 600 count how long it take to give you the Minelab beeps to let you know it’s booted up and then do it on the Xterra it’s almost instant as far as the 8 kHz goes allergy higher frequency is more responsive to small gold like what a stud earring would have but the 8khz is great in the salt some People have theory’s that in beach mode on the Xterra it’s actually doing SMF and that Minelab lies because most people are convinced that you can’t get a VLF single frequency to work in salt water and be stable I’m On the fence on that one either way it finds jewelry and coins just fine , it also does a better job at ignoring tent stakes than the 600 does

@ifindmetal
@ifindmetal Год назад
@@jasonobrien8861 who told you that ? Minelab says that beach 1 works fine in wet sand and 2 is for in the water and surf . As far as “ Needing “ to ground balance that’s bull first of all you have drastic ground change in sand conditions by just walking ten feet in mineralized sand so doing a set does you no good because two steps and it’s gonna be off, trackingworks perfectly , as far as depth goes as it is it picks up rings and coins easily at a foot you won’t gain much more and the targets aren’t deeper and even if they were you will be chasing the sand refilling faster than can you can scoop it in the wet/water, as far as noise canceling holding the coil up changes nothing the coil picks up interference where it’s being swung which is near the ground so why would holding it up make and difference if it’s not getting any
@Flossyrockstar
@Flossyrockstar 10 месяцев назад
Seriously learn the machine before making videos like this. If you want to see how much deeper the Equinox is drop the recovery speed down to 1. You will get 16-18 inches in wet sand. Try doing that with the Xterra!
@ifindmetal
@ifindmetal 10 месяцев назад
I know the machine it’s running at optimum setting for that beach it goes plenty deep enough , there is a limit of stability and depth LEARN that unless you like listening to contestant falses I’m not running the slowest possible recovery at a beach full of iron sorry , also ten inches in the wet/ water is about as far a you can dig effectively you would have to be an idiot to think you are digging deeper in the water where the sand immediately as you are pulling the scoop out is refilling . The Xterra has pulled foil wrappers at the Depths you are stating in the wet I have included it in a few of my videos , this comparison video was with the same settings as close as possible in fact I didn’t even do a noise cancel on the XTP and I had tracking GB on the 600 so it had that advantages as well
