I bought one of these last year and have been using it to heat my small 600SF condo as I only have electricity for heat. 5 gallons of Diesel lasts 5 to 10 days depending on how cold it is, and my condo is a balmy 74 degrees inside when it in the twenties outside. Love it! One thing I did notice and corrected last year, these heaters tend to coke up when run long periods at the lower settings. I run mine wide open until the condo warms up then set it to 3.1hz minimum... seems to not coke up as bad. Then I service unit in the summer with a rebuild kit (costs about $30 - new gasket, new glow plug & screen). I use electric fans and a ceiling fan to push the warm air around...

Well to be honest I am pretty impressed with this little Diesel heater and the price is excellent! Right now it shows a sale price of $128.99 with free shipping! I might snag one of these. Thanks Chris! 👍 .. After looking at their web site I see that they actually have an RV Style heater that has a different housing style and has four heat outlets that a hose can be added on to better direct the heat flow to where you want it to go.

I bought the same heater and took it apart for an RV installation. Pricewise for an 8KW it couldn't be beat. I've been using it as my sole heater for over a month now and loving it! I feel so much safer with it then running a Buddy heater. Cost wise Propane vs diesel cost I think it balances out pretty close. Vs Propane its a dryer heat and with the blower it circulates much better. I think I can regulate the temperature in my RV better with it also. I am in a 35 ft fifthwheel at around 3000 ft altitude in Arizona. It does get below freezing here at night sometimes. So far, it's done a great job keeping my trailer warm overnight on the lowest setting during nights of below freezing temperatures. My RV is older so it's no longer as well insulated as when new. I've also experimented with running used motor oil through it. I would recommend well filtering it and not mixing more than 25% used oil with either diesel or kerosene. It will run a fifty fifty mix but it gets harder to start. With the thinner mix it starts better and I think you will be less likely to gunk it up! Even at that I wouldn't recommend doing it all the time! A little here and a little there. Just a way to burn up waste oil as you get it.

I have a different brand but pretty much the same thing. The heater will definitely take the edge off and make it more comfortable to work but most likely you won't be toasty warm. I really like these heaters and even running at full blast they sip fuel. Great units that are budget friendly. I recommend getting a small fan to blow all the warm air that rises back down to the floor.

These are really simple. I have an espar and it's so expensive to work on at the shop. One year I decided to take mine apart and it just a ignition chamber, an ignition screen and a glow plug and a fan housing. Usually when they stop working it's from carbon buildup in the ignition chamber, or the ignition screen. It will smoke a lot before that happens. But you can buy the glow plug, screen and gasket kit for like $35 for the espar . And those are like $1200 new and to pay a shop to change those will be at least $600 for 20 minutes of work

I have a little different one but I attached it to a board and ran the inlet and outlet vents through the board so if my power goes out in the winter I can open my window then close it on the board. The heater sits outside with a 5 gallon can of diesel and a battery and it sucks air from my room, heats it, then blows it back in. It's basically the opposite of a window air conditioner. I also have a small solar panel and controller I can charge the battery with for an extended outage.

The diesel heaters are good, I have this same heater and they aren't actually 8kw the Housing design is the same for the 5 kw and 3kw and those new controllers suck if you are into tweaking the hz and fan speeds, changed ecu and controller on mine. But for that also depends on your climate, it gets -30c here so dialing it up helps. But all and all they serve their purposem I use one for my ice shack and heating the porch at the house in the winter

the 2k is probably better for a minivan. 5k will burn you out haha, you'll have to run it on low. Remember to run a tank on high through it every once in a while if you run it on low a lot, it will help burn out carbon buildup. 2k is definitely plenty for a minivan and it's healthier for the unit to run medium to max than low.

@@pnoon43 honestly it's fine unless you need it to be on 24/7. I got almost 20 hours of heat on my 5kw this week from ~ 1.2 or so gallons of diesel, running mostly on medium/low. It will ramp up once it gets even colder here and I will probably only get 12 hours off that amount. No clue what climate you are in but if the van is running 10+ hours a day then burning the absolute minimum of diesel you need to will be advantageous. I'm heating a small shop so I needed a 5k.

That is basically a portable version of a bunk heater used in OTR semi trucks. Those tend to fail because of the fuel pump or ignition failure. Really need to be sure to use clean diesel fuel or a fuel filter, on the trucks they feed straight from the fuel tanks and for some reason don't use fuel filters.

I have exactly the same heater from Vevor with the same display. There is an issue with the manual and the current controller software. You can't access the settings the way it's described in the manual. I guess they have made some sort of upgrade. The problem is stepping from the first setting (clock/timer) to the next. There is no way to get past this first setting so you never get to the rest of them. The manual describes another software version. For example the display is always on now. You don't have to press any buttons to light it.

8 kW (27500) BTU is an overrating. Most of these take around 0.35 to 0.4 l per hr, around 1/10 gal per hour. Which is around 4 kW.(13500 BTU) That makes sense, as these are copycat Eberspacher air heater, which came to market, when the patent protection ran out. And these were rated at 4kW. Still, it's a good heater for the price These things can be useful in power outages, a small hole in the wall, a capable battery, like 80 to 100 Amp hours, and it might run up to 30 hours on the battery with like 2 gal of Diesel/ kerosene (JetA1) or light fuel oil.
