Hello Shellie, I am so thrilled about your library of mini album tutorials. I'm a first time album maker and have found your tutorials to be definitely and absolutely the best. You are a great instructor and I've already registered to your store. Thank you so much for being an excellent teacher!!
Kenya - Thank you so much for your support of my tutorials and store. I am hopeful to have more inspiring mini album tutorials out quickly in 2019 after the holidays. Have a wonderful thanksgiving and Merry Christmas. Hugs
Shellie I cannot even begin to thank you for this AMAZING tutorial! You explain everything so very clearly from supplies used to the directions to the album and I am just absolutely loving your tutorials (as well as your Ebay store 😉) I cannot wait to be able to get the supplies I need from you to create one of your GORGEOUS albums! Thanks you so much for all you do sharing your time and talent with us! You truly are such a beautiful inspiration! Hugs
I made an album using this paper, but following a different tutorial, and it is beautiful. That paper is absolutely marvelous. I need to make another album and I would like to follow this one. I have never used this hinge method. Love the way you explain everything.
Well Shellie, I don't know how you do it but once again you outdid yourself. I say this with every photo album you make and somehow someway the next one is even better. When I see that you have a new video anticipation kills me. What are we in store for now. I have always said that I am like a kid at Christmas. Opening a present is opening up your youtube video. And you are definitely a motivator. No matter how I feel, when I watch your video I want to jump up and start creating. This photo album is beyond wow it's a huge Wow wow wee!!!!! Thank you so much for doing all this work. {{{{{{hugs}}}}}}
Hi Shellie, do you have a list written down of everything needed to compete this album. Including all the dies and inks used. i know you used to write the materials list down for your blog but seemed to have stopped. I live in the UK so have a hard job of finding some of the things. Would love a list written down to put in my handbag for when i am out and about x
please , witch kind of paper do you use to make your roses and leaves ? thank you for your answer . I love your mini album thank you for sharinf your explanations are very clear.
hi Shellie am ordering the last lilac paper you have are you ordering anymore? because I know you said you said we need at lease 2 paper stacks and also are you getting anymore lace applique ?
Shellie Geigle - J & S Hobbies and Crafts Shellie they are used in picture framing. Here's a link for an example. www.framedestination.com/framing-supplies/mat-board.html
I don't know if that will be strong enough so the covers don't bow or bend. I've never used mat board. If it's easy to flex and doesn't feel firm in your hands, then I'd say medium chipboard would be best.
NOTE: In the video, at 33:01 when I have you cut the Tyvek strips. I say to cut 2 piece of Tyvek at 1-1/2" x 8-1/2" (verbally said) however, I typed 1-1/2" x 8-1/4". Either measurement will work . :)
Beautiful album Shellie, I'm addicted to your channel xx Is there another product you can used instead of Tyvek that will work well to bind? I'm in Australia and it's hard to get. Or does anyone know where you can get Tyvek in Australia?
Unfortunately no :( Not sure why it happened. Doesn't seem to be happening with my other videos. Maybe just a glitch in my program at the time I was filming??
Hi Shellie, well I've made it through the front cover and first pocket page....phew. I havent seen all the vids all the way through yet as slowly working my way through. Im wondering if the envelope on the cover ends up having something inside it or not ??. thanks. p.s. I hope that you make something with Graphic 45's new Love Notes. I ordered it yesterday, it's just arrived in Australia. :-)
In the beginning of Part 1 where I show the album before we make it, I think I slid something in there. But you don't have to. The envelope should hold a photo though. It's really up to you whether or not you want something in there. Having fun making your album.
You are the best at teaching how to make these absolutely gorgeous albums . I'm just learning how to make the albums and you are my teacher. I would like to know where to purchase the papers that you are using in this tutorial .This album is absolutely gorgeous and I love the soft colors that you use on all of your albums. I'm having trouble finding the black chipboard . I found the craft color at Michael's and Hobby Lobby has the light gray one. I'm going to purchase the gray one this week from Hobby Lobby. I have fibromyalgia and your tutorials are really helping me . I'm so very happy that I found you and I plan to watch each and everyone of your tutorials .There isn't anyone that I've seen that even comes close to what you make and especially the way you teach .You explain everything in such a way that anyone can understand . Please continue to make your beautiful. I love your craft room . Everything is so neat and organized. Have a wonderful night and God bless you Shellie 🌹😊
Teddy- Thank you so much. I try to take it slow and teach it in a way beginners can understand and get the same results as experienced mini album makers. You can purchase paper and supplies at my store www.jshobbiesandcrafts.com . You can also download a copy of the materials list from my websites' tutorial page. Here is the link and you can scroll down to the album you'd like to make and click on the materials list jshobbiesandcrafts.com/tutorials/ I'm so thrilled you are finding my tutorials helpful and easy. I have quite a few of them so when you're done making this album, you may find another of interest. Happy Crafting! God Bless, Shellie

Just so beautiful, Shellie! I love that paper collection and you have just made it shine! Thanks for all your time to make these lovely tutorials. It is SO appreciated! Blessings.
beautiful Shellie. What is the name of the black and yellow clip you have used to clap the trinket in place? I love it and I would like to buy it. thanks
My husband got those off ebay for me. They are called Rachets I believe. You can do a search for them. When you find them, be sure to get the value pack that gives you several.
Thanks Shellie. When I searched by this name, nothing even closed to this comes but no worries. I am very happy that you took the time to reply to me knowing how busy you are. I really appreciate. I will continue trying to find them. By the way, you are an amazing artist and a very gifted teacher. Anyway can do mini albums watching your videos. I have gotten inspired by you. I would love to do tutorials as well. I have a GO PRO camera but find the right spot and where to hold it it has been a challenge. Thanks again Shellie.@@ShellieGeigle
Hello, how are you? How cute, beautiful, beautiful this album !!!! It's a feast for my eyes !!! Richly decorated and an odd taste !!!! What a beautiful collection of papers, I loved it. I love your channel and your projects, they are wonderful !!! A big hug from Brazil :)
Shellie, this paper is impossible to find since it's out of stock everywhere including your store. I did find one on Ebay and have it coming. Are you able to get more in stock? Also, would you think about making a mini album with the Stamperia "New England" collection? Thanks!
Hi Bethany. I have more Lilac Flowers on order (it's been on back order ) but hopefully will arrive soon. Regarding New England, I'm actually filming a tutorial using that one now .. That is my next . Love the paper. Absolutely gorgeous.. Happy Crafting!
I just love what you've done with this album, Shellie! I plan on this being my next project after I finish up the two on the worktable! LOL I'm working on Christmas now, but I want to make one of these with your paper choice, too - it's so pretty! Thanks for sharing.
Hi Shellie, I was looking at your tutorial and would like to try my hand at making it, but I can’t seem to find the lilac paper pad in you store. Can you give me a link to that collection or tell me what to search for please? Thanks
Hi! We currently have some on order, however, it's on backorder. We are checking every day to get an estimated date of shipping :) We'll post on our JS Hobbies and Crafts facebook page when it's back in stock. Thank you so much for visiting my store. Have a great weekend! - Shellie
Wow! Yet another gorgeous stunning album Shellie! It just amazes me every time what you do with paper! I especially like the "abstract flower" border punch on all the pages - Gives it a very elegant look! I'm still working on my very first album of yours: The P.S I love you Album. And I just can't believe how beautiful it is turning out! I couldn't have done it without these tutorials! So please keep them coming!!! ...And I must say, your website prices are definitely the best! Thank you so much:)
Hi. I cant get on to the site that says the materials list. Can you pls let me know the name of the dies that you used ???. Ive got a birthday coming up, so might put in some requests. LOL
Just wanted to tell you that Ive just made it to sticking in the pages. So far so good. Looking forward to starting to decorate !!!!!!!!!!. As I dont have two books of the pattern, how will I know when I need to replace with something else. Or will I just keep going with what you are doing and if I then run out or have already cut the other side of a needed page, then I know I have to replace ????. Does that make sense.... LOL.
Here's a tip. When I grab a new sheet of paper from the paper pack, you should be too. when I grab from my scrap pile (reserves) you should be too. Hope this helps. Happy Crafting! Please be sure to email me or message me pictures. Can't wait to see your finished album! Hugs!
hi Shellie how are you long time . I love these album I was wondering will you be ordering anymore of the lilac flowers paper pads? if not maybe I can look up the paper or maybe you know were I can shop for it? am really interested in these tutorial Thank you Shellie enjoy the rest of the weekend Betty
Stunning album! It is so pretty and love purples! I like the punched edges on the white cardstock. Very elegant. Thank you for sharing your amazing talent.
What a pleasure to watch your videos ! simple explanations and easy to reproduce with a little practice of course! Thank you for sharing ! bonne soirée
Hello Shellie, I have this paper collection and your tutorial will help me to make my album too (in inches). But I haven't your talent. could you tell me the name of your clamp that you buy on ebay, because I don't understand the word. Thanks a lot.
Hi Maryse. I do not know the seller, but here is what they are: www.ebay.com/itm/Wolfcraft-3581-Quick-Jaw-Micro-Ratchet-Swivel-Head-Clamps-4-Pack-/400868691252?epid=1400529242&hash=item5d55a2cd34:g:aEIAAOSw-9xZ18LV
This is my first time watching you - very easy to follow - thank you! I do have a question - the "binder clip" that you use - I have not seen those - where could I purchase them? Thanks in advance.
You use scor tape. Is that just heavier double sided tape?? I went to the Michael's store in my town to find some but the Assoc. said she had never heard of it before so couldn't help me.
If you live in the united states, I do sell it at my store www.jshobbiesandcrafts.com Scor Tape is a heavy duty double sided tape, however, michaels may have something similar. I don't know the quality of that brand but I've tried several other brands and always went back to scor tape. All you can do is try it out. Make sure you burnish the tape down everytime to make sure no air bubbles are caught underneath it once you place the tape down. After you lay paper on it, burnish it again to get air bubbles out. I hope this is helpful. Happy crafting!
Hi Mrs Shellie Geigle. I was about to go to your webside and print out the preecuts for this tutorial.. I was going to start working with you on this album😁❤️🥰 There were only the shoppinglist. Could you send me the list of preecuts, please😁❤️ Or is it another way on this tutorial? Love working and learn from you🥰❤️🥰 Best regards Aud Vinsand
Ohh that's beautiful, thanks for letting me share my albums on your page Shellie, one day mine ( hopefully ) will be as stunning as yours. Thanks for the fantastic free tutorial. xxx
Hi. We have some on backorder. You can email orders@jshobbiesandcrafts.com and request to be put on the list for notification when it comes in. Thanks for visiting my channel :)
Wow!!! Just beautiful!!! I've been watching your videos trying to decide which one to start in first!!! 😊 I am wondering, however, why your album before this has a gap in the spine and on this one you have butted spine to covers?! Do you have a preference ? Just hoping you could comment as to why there is a difference! Thanks so much for all the inspiration!!!
Most my albums 90% of them - do not have spacing in between the spine and covers - It's just a different style of binding to do :) I do have a preference- I like butting mine up next to each other - easier. However, if you are doing a full-album wrap with paper (several sheets connected together to cover entire outside, you do need spacing in between to allow for the album to close. I do like wrapping my covers and spine individually as it gives a different look and you don't need the spacing between spine/covers. .
As Always! AWESOME! can't wait to make it! Since I am an OLD-er Lady, I really Love your Creations & the way you teach them! Thanks! so Much! Shellie~~Never stop being The BEST! TFS! Hugs, Robin
I am doing this type of album with other papers, for the first time. I think the corners from front/back to the spine is a bit loose. Is it possible to cover the spine from the front, around the spineandaround to the back? ithTyvek inside the spine cover paper? I seem to have seen it on one of your albums. I love your work but cannot always remember what I have seen.
I want to make this, but the cutting guide seems not to be available in the Tutorials section or in the archives. How can I get this guide? I have used this paper before and would love to use it again for your book. Thanks
You are the best teacher Shellie!😊🤗.... Beautiful album!!!😘 Which die cut machine would be good??? Is sizzix big shot's size is convenient for such albums...or we need larger platform?
Hi. I own a Big Shot Plus and a regular Big shot, so either of those are good. The Big Shot Plus has the wider platform and I recommend that if it's in your budget range. :) If all you have is the 6 inch wide platform, you can always die cut your trim and then attach to a fold out or pocket . Happy Crafting!
Hi Shellie, I love this album and really want to make it but can't seem to find the materials list and cutting guide. Is this still available. Thank you Lynne
You can get your free materials list by emailing Orders@jshobbiesandcrafts.com There is not precutting guide - didn’t offer those until mid-2018. All cuts are given in tutorial.
Hi. I now use a heavy duty guillotine , however, if you have a regular paper cutter (cheaper type), you can run your blade over the chipboard, then flip your chipboard over and run your blade again. Once you do that, remove that blade and Use it ONLY for chipboard cutting as it will dull the blade for cutting decorative paper. When I used to do that, I had a blade just for chipboard and one for cutting my papers :) Hope this helps. If you live in the United states, I do have one heavy duty guillotine left in my store. It is heavy and a bit costly to ship, but it's well worth it in the long run that replacing blades on your cutter. If you are interested, email orders@jshobbiesandcrafts.com and give them your shipping address (US SHIPPING ADDRESSES ONLY) and ask for a shipping quote.
Im in Australia & I already do have this beautiful paper book. It seems that I need two of them, which is too expensive for me. They cost more here in Australia. Im 1 hour into your tutorial so far. Im wondering if I could substitute some other similar coloured papers as I really want to try this along with you, but using two of these is costly for me. Could I substitute some pale lilac/stripes/polka dots ??. Would that work or does it have to be the exact images ???. T.I.A. Loving your teaching. You are wonderful, now Im just concerned about the paper quantity.
It's always BEST to use the designer paper I'm using because I made the album and put it together using the prints from it so you are correct in a sense. If you use something else it's going to come out different looking because you'll have different print.. I think it'll be amazing. Just match in designer paper that you feel looks good and flows nicely. Here's a tip when using different paper and taking my tutorials. In the tutorial, If I reach for a new designer paper from the pack, you should be too. If i'm reaching into my scrap pile (reserves), you should be too. I would LOVE to see your album when you are done. I know it' will come out looking awesome. My email is shellie@jshobbiesandcrafts.com
@@ShellieGeigle ok, shall do. I appreciate your advice so much. Finally, I've found home !!!!!. I also have the other pad with the beautiful birds. I found your tutorial on that one also. How exciting. It will take me quite a while, but will let you see when its done (if it works).
Shellie/Valeri (my 2 favourite youtube album makers). I forgot to mention in my post on the magnets that I have also seen "scrappers" using "Tin Roof Caps" with a magnet. They appear to be about 3" round and are sold at Home Depot. I believe she said they come in a package. They appear to be wafer thin and would be great on pages.Hope this is helpful to you. =)
The most admirable handmade album online and a great lecture. Would you please teach us step by step how you got to build such a wonder with items we all have at home to be recycled? Money is tight for many people (I am included). Thanks in advance. Have a lovely day!
Good morning Shellie. Would love to know where I can get the butterfly harvest 3D. Can’t seem to find them would really appreciate it very much. Keep up ur great work. Tks
Hi Wendy. You can get the free PDF of the materials list by emailing: orders@jshobbiesandcrafts.com and it will give you everything you need. I can't remember back that far what I used as it was a couple few years ago, but I'm sure it was at least 2 of the 12 x 12 size. Please check the materials list for everything though. Happy Crafting and thank you so much for visiting.
Thank you Shellie I forget it is probably Saturday with you or late Friday. I have 2 Stamperia Horses Album to make but will have to think harder with it as I have 8x8 papers I might use the same pattern but just add a matt. Have a great weekend. xxx
I don't have any albums for sale right now. If you need supplies to make one, email holly@jshobbiesandcrafts.com a list of what you are needing and she can get you a shipping quote.
