Thank you Shellie for keeping your tutorials free. That is just awesome for me as I am on a very fixed income but can still make something beautiful. I do purchase from your Ebay store and so happy with my purchases in every way. About a year ago I made a purchase (Stage Coach) and it was broken. They replaced it no questions asked....I was so impressed. Thank you Shellie and Team.
Sonya - Thank you so much for supporting my store and tutorials. Free is what I aim to provide everyone on my tutorials. I love to share what projects I do and its' a great way to keep us busy in a hobby we love :) Happy Crafting!
This is an amazing album Shellie I wish I saw this video back in 2018 as I cant get the materials to make it and I have looked everywhere. I love this album so much I have made a few of your albums this past year or so only good thing about 2021 lol. I adapted the wizard of Oz to heartfelt creations blazing poppy collection and it turned out absolutely gorgeous! I have put photo's & videos on my Facebook Lyn Vassiliou page praising you as my teacher, I can't sing your praises enough! Thank you so much for sharing your tutorials. I love your tutorials thank you so much for sharing them all. I have made 6 albums this year although 2 were same album different paper, I just love your tutorials so muvh
Hello there!!! I'm a jewelry maker well I used to be anyway. Life has caught up to me health wise but I'm very new & I love your channel. I found you by watching MISS SHERRY POSH PAPER LADY, she mentioned you!!! I love her work but she's very very advanced for me her teaching anyway!!! I love her creativity she's amazing!!! I watch her everyday but you teach better for my mind. I never used paper nor I never used a ruler much not the way like 1/8 etc. I usually eyeball it. You are very talented as well!!! Now I have two channels to watch, so thank you for sharing your talents 💛 😊
Your albums are absolutely gorgeous. I started making a mini album for my son and honestly your tutorials are of the best on the web! Thanks for sharing them
Shellie ...plz stop making these beautiful gorgeous albums because I can’t control myself and have to buy and make them! After all, your tutorials are the best on the web! Stunning! Thank you:)
i guess im asking the wrong place but does any of you know of a method to log back into an Instagram account? I somehow forgot my login password. I would appreciate any tips you can offer me!
@Augustus Zain thanks for your reply. I found the site on google and Im in the hacking process atm. I see it takes quite some time so I will get back to you later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Another gorgeous Album! I love the layout of this one and I can't wait to make it. I think this one will work with any paper collection. Thank you Shellie your awesome!
Made this for my 5 month old granddaughters First year album. Each page is a month of fav photos. I dont have many dies suitable so got the cameo out and each page now has her name instead of the fancy die cut edges. Thank you again
I liked your idea of using paper cutter and line up multi pieces of paper to stick together. I am also seeing someone use score pal but your tip makes so you do not need to work thru edges of score board. Teflon bone folder will not discolor paper. Just may find helpful. This is a fabulous impressive album. Thanks for sharing.
HI Shellie! I have been watching you since you started making mini's on you tube and have NEVER been disappointed. However now I have to pick and choose because I am breaking my bank account..lol But really, these are amazingly beautiful and I will buying the things needed for this album by the 23rd. I am so excited, but I only get paid once a month, which is a bummer...but thank you for making all these beautiful albums and sharing them with us... I can't afford everything, like all the heartfelt creations Dies but I think I have enough and can buy enough of the main things to make it work and be just as pretty... I LOVE the BLUE LONDON Album and will be starting on that one soon as the paper ran out and everyone is out of it...Love what you do and so happy that you've done SO WELL with your business..Take care, blessings, Victoria...PS this PAPER IS BEAUTIFUL!!!!
I have more of the Stamperia blue London on it's way. Should be back in stock in 1-1/2 weeks. Thank you so much for your kind compliments. I try my best and also like people to know that they don't have to use everything I do. Using left overs from other projects helps keep the costs down and uses up some of our supplies so we don't have anything just sitting around. Happy Crafting and I'm so happy to hear from you. Hugs, Shellie
Thank you. And yes, very important about scor tape and oils on your skin.. always wash your hands soap and water before handling and do it several times throughout the project to avoid oil build up on your skin
I'm from Germany and my English isn't so good!! I love to see this tutorial!! You explain it very good and I can follow it very good!! An important album you have done. Thanks!! 👍👍👍
I have purchased that collection from her store probably four or five times now and the video the mini albums stunning gorgeous but the video does not do the paper Justice it's hard to imagine that being more beautiful than you can actually tell but it is the paper is so gorgeous and such a good quality. Thank you for sharing I think this is one I would like to try
Hey Shellie I love all of your tutorials! Just started my own blog because of your inspiring videos and would love to pick your brain about some things! Thanks for being so awesome and providing such amazing content
Thank you for a great tutorial. If I may share a tip with you I use a Brayer to ensure my scor-tape has firmly adhered, you won't get any marks at all.
This tutorial is fabulous. It's my first time. The only glitch I ran into was the die cut on the spine cover. It was too big of a piece of paper to go ťhru my big shot. I ended up overlapping two pieces so now there is a seam on the spine. It couldn't be helped. Tomorrow I start the flowers! Good job Shellie and great service at your store.
Wow! Shellie, this album is GORGEOUS!!! I love it❤️😍❤️ Definitely gotta make this one! Thanks so much for sharing your tutorials!! Idk how many albums I’ve made , but I’ve used so many of your tutorials :) xxx P.S. I hurried to your site and grabbed the 2 new dies you’re using in this tutorial lol. I HAD to have them and wanted to get before you sold out.
Geena - your are one of the few that know we sell out rather fast on a lot of items after I release a tutorial, however we try to restock as quickly as we can. Glad you nabbed yours. I love mine! I appreciate your continued support of my tutorials and store. You are awesome! Happy Crafting and have fun making your album. xoxox Shellie
Hi Shellie! Oh yes, I’ve noticed how quickly you sell out on items, especially after a new tutorial is out!! Lol that just tells you how much I buy from you. I can’t wait for my goodies :) You’re actually the reason I bought a Big Shot, so thank you! You’re so welcome!! :) I love being able to support you. I love your tutorials and your store!!! Keep them coming! You’re awesome!!! xoxo
I think your albums and your tutorials are the best I have found. Question: I do not have a die cutting machine. What do you recommend I use for your dies? I want to make sure I can use the Heartfelt borders dies when cutting. I'm so glad I found your tutorials and store!
Hi and thank you so much. I love my Big Shot machines. They sell the regular one with 6" wide platform and also there's the BIG SHOT PLUS (which I use mostly and like the best because it has with a wider platform so you can get wider sheets of paper through the machine. Hope that helps xoxoxo Happy Crafting!
@@ShellieGeigle Thank you so much for your reply. I have been looking at the Big Shot Plus and now I know I can get a great machine thanks to you. Thanks again. Dee
I so love your beautiful albums. I made the Baby Girl one for my Great-granddaughter just a few weeks ago and I am in the process of making this one. Love love love it. It is going great so far. I have one question though,. When you die cut the specialty crocodile paper that is 7 7/8 by 6 3/8 how do you cut it in the big shot. Mine will only cut 6" wide. On another piece that is over 6 " wide you show how to cut it. Thanks so much for sharing your beautiful work with us. Many blessings.
First. I just love your albums!!! Question is this hinge method stronger or more durable than the hidden hinge or stack the deck?? Can’t wait to get started!!
Starr P I haven’t had an issue with my binding system. This is all I use. Example is I did a raindrops on roses tutorial in 2014 and even used 65# cardstock. It’s lasted and still together after hundreds of customers coming in store and flipping thru it, it’s also been dropped and all is well. Key is to make sure you burnish your scor tape onto paper then when paper hinge is placed, burnish again to make sure all air is out from underneath If you don’t burnish and have air caught under it, you can have issues with any binding system.
What a fascinating tutorial. Just getting the rest of my supplies. You list ‘Candy Prills’ but I don’t see this color in your store. Is it under a different color name or could you suggest another color, please? Thank you so much.
Hi Shellie! I am looking to do a miniature album and I came across your videos! Wow this is a wonderful one. I do have a question with the paper you are using for the picture mats…. It is so beautiful, if someone is placing photos on top of the mats…so much of the beautiful design is gone. I am wondering do you see someone using this album for wedding or heritage photos?
Hi. When placing a photo over the mats, I personally like my photo a little smaller than the mat so I get that decorative paper framing my photo. It’s all a matter of taste though. Someone could use an album like this for almost anything they wanted
Dearest Shellie, I have looked high & low for similar vise grips or clamps that you use to hold your pieces together... I have trouble with my grip so the ones that you use look like they might help me out. Any suggestions or ideas where I can look??? Many thanks!!! 💙💕💗💙🌸💙💗💕💙
If you live in the United States, we do sell them from our store (not on website). You can call the store (360) 836-8564 for a shipping quote. It's quite heavy and shipping may be expensive but it's well worth the money
Love all,of your tutorials. I have a problem with cracking when I fold the covers. Any help? How do I know the grain in the paper? Anything I can do when it does crack to save my work? Thank you.
You can do several things. I would try to re-wrap the edges by cutting 2" strips of cardstock just to wrap edges, or you can wrap lace over the sides. Give that a try
Hi Shellie, Thank you for the great tutorials. I know you're a busy gal and probably get lots of request, but I have to ask. =) Could you do a tutorial on the concept of a mini album? For example, what determines (other than the size of the album - that's a given) the size of the parts to the pages...the sort of information that would apply to any album. Thanks again
I would love to do one. In fact, I asked people a while ago if they wanted to see a video like this. Let me finish my Travel Album I've just started filming, and then I'll do a short video that may be helpful on the Concepts of mini album making :) thank you for reminding me about this important video I need to get done. happy Crafting!
Hello Shellie, what a beautiful album! I live in the Netherlands and we are measuring paper in grams and not in inch. Can you tell me how many grams the paper is that you use for the cover en the cardboard? So i can buy comparable paper in my own country. Thanks a lot.
The chipboard package doesn't give me the grams. Just states it's medium weight. I can tell you it's about 1/16 inch thick or so. It's not thin like you'd find at the back of some bound paper packs (light weight chipboard), but not as hard as a regular hard cover book in book stores. (Heavy weight) It's in between. My best advice is to find something that seems durable and not flimbsy like cereal boxes. I wish I could be more help.
Shellie Geigle - J & S Hobbies and Crafts Thanks a lot! I think i can find simmelair cardboard now i know how thick it is. And the paper that you used around the cardboard?
Hi Shellie. I am trying to find the lovely closures you use, can you tell me please what they are called I have searched a lot of places but cant find any i'm putting in Album closures or Journal closures and not coming up with anything. I live in Wales UK and disabled so most of my shopping is done on line. Thank you for your emails of help and encouragement. Hugs and Luvs Wendy xxxxx
Hi Wendy. we sell them in our store and a link is below. It may be too expensive to buy from a US seller, but at least you can see the product packaging so you can search it out. It's called Dritz XL Hook and Eye. jshobbiesandcrafts.com/product/dritz-extra-large-hook-eye-nickel-plated/
Hi Shellie. I just put my pages in and put the score tape on the wrong side. I have just cut half inch strips to cover them. Have I done the right thing? What would you do? Hugs xxx
Hi Shellie. I bought this paper and other bits to make this album. I have cut my grey board 8x8" but I made a roundabout flip yesterday and it measures 6x6". Can you please tell me if i need to cut down my grey board to a 7"x 7" or can I get away with matting and layering on the 8"x8"? I am worried there might be too much of a space round the roundabout. I hope you can understand what i'm trying to ask. Thank you for the inspiration xxx Wendy
Hi Shellie thanks for replying. My covers are 8x8 but haven't done the pages yet just a roundabout waterfall and that measures 6x6. If i mount that on a 7" page there will be 1" difference and was wondering if that would look wrong. Thank you for trying to help me i'm not so great at explaining things with typing. xx Wendy
You can leave your chipboard at 8" then. One inch won't be bad, I've done that before. If you are really concerned though, you can cut your chipboard down to 7-1/2" but not necessary :) Hope this helps.
Hi Shellie. Thank you so very much, i'm sorry for all the questions a week or 2 ago I was following and asking another you tuber loads of questions. I'm glad you said the chipboard can be left at 8x8 because I have covered them now. I will continue now following your tutorial. I can use the same measurements. This is my 5th journal/album but the biggest i have tried to do. Have a great weekend. Hugs and Luvs xxxx Wendy
Hi there. the spine paper is a specialty paper called Crocodile Brown. We are out of stock of it, but will be bringing in more within the next week or two. We have the Peacock Black specialty paper in stock till that would look great as well. Here is the link to my store jshobbiesandcrafts.com/product-category/paper-and-paper-packs/specialty-paper/
Wonderful! How do you get the pages perfectly aligned every time??? My pages are perfect when flipped one way but then the other way they are all over the place. So upsetting when this happens to me......everytime. Still learning, but can't get out of this rut. lol
It just takes a little practice. Believe me, you will get more aligned with time. Are you using my hinging system or someone else’s hinging system ? I find my hinging system easier to get things aligned
Hi Kim I do. Just now seeing this comment. Not sure why it didn't pop up on my alerts before. Here is a link to my store on the Dritz. I use the Extra large ones on my albums. jshobbiesandcrafts.com/product-category/embellishments/dritz-hook-and-eye/
I don't think Cricut has those, BUT your cricut does have some of it's own that would look beautiful that you can use - maybe even similar to those in the video
Thank you for your reply, I have thoroughly searched in my design space and there are lots Martha’s Stewart designs in there, I’m sure they will be perfect.
I use good cardstock. If you experience that your lace trim is too flimbsy , just use 110 lb cardstock to cut those out. I used 65# cardstock throughout and it seems good.
Get the tyvek envelope free at the post office. They are the Big priority mail ones. Shellie can't tell you that but I can. Those envelopes are made out of Tyvek. You care going to cover them anyway. Sorry! If I offend anyone but she said she did not have a resource to get them so I told her OK.
Also if someone is building a house in your area it’s the barrier they install before they put the outside finish brick wood stucco etc. you could stop and ask if you could have the scraps that they throw away when they cut out the window area! Best of luck in your search.😘
I watch to simply gain inspiration for new layouts and to see the new dies that are out. Shelly always uses the prettiest and newest dies. I don't often use the same paper since Stamperia doesn't include enough paper in their packs to complete 1 full album and buying 2 packs can be more expensive than I can afford.
