Ian worked and studied at a bronze casting foundry as a young man, where he learned to create models, armatures, molds and finished sculptural artwork in all mediums and finishes. Ian is fascinated by the artistic process of sculpture. He brings this knowledge to his car customizations, to his Full Custom Garage TV show audience, and now he brings it to you, his growing RU-vid audience.

When we watch your show we have to keep in my mind that you're creating something new each time. It's great and that's what is so cool. You have a great imagination and so much knowledge about building. It's a unique talent. 🎉 Thank you for inviting us in to see your creative process. Thank you Jamie for filming, editing and everything else. It's cool. I'm disabled I have hereditary neuropathy that makes me weak so I'm limited in what I can do. Watching your show brings me joy. I daydream about driving around in a unique vehicle 😎 Take care ✌🏼

If you just put the free wheeling hub on the passenger side, of,the live axle you will still have all the strength and flexibility of the live axle as far as placement of sprockets, and brake hubs etc. Without the problem of turning with a live axle and you lose no strength. All problems solved.

Drugstore mechanics drive me NUTS! I have built several hot rods & now guitars and basses facing criticism from those who only fantasize about doing these things. The world is made up of dreamers and doers. We are a combination of both and aren't afraid of getting dirty! Ian is more patient than me, Carry on Sir!

You are so much fun to watch! I am 78 years old and have built cars since I was 14. No greater fun than to make something with your own hands and watch it turn into a finished work! To be talented enough to do this is a blessing. Keep up the great videos….I truly enjoy your work. Regards Greg Conn.

All these armchair super mechanics... I'm positive that they all have built cars, trucks, motorcycles, trikes, and total custom fiberglass body cars from homemade molds. Wow. You, sir, are one of the old school masters of the entire craft. I applaud you and your wife for the attitude that you both bring on your RU-vid show. Thank you. It is a sheer joy to watch.

Every time you post a video, I sit back, relax and watch. Just enjoying the cars, metal work, ideas, the relaxing voice, welding, grinding, mock-ups. It slows things down, they make me reflect on my speedy life and watching it is like hitting the breaks and move at 35 for a while. I like the process, and I believe in it!

You two are so much fun, what a balance, Ian envisioning and Jamie commenting behind the camera is just the best combo (NO HYPE). A fine quality entertaining production is the result, the music and montage are a bonus. Don't worry about the desktop engineers, they don't do anything.

I do not try to find faults in what someone makes, I like the process, how you come up with ideas and how you make them come to fruition. I was in the Army 27 years, most of them I was a mechanic, often I could not get a part I needed so I had to make something work so the vehicle or piece of equipment could continue to be used to complete the mission. Keep up the good work, I think it is interesting and amazing how it all comes together. Yes I think of George Barris with your final product but they are not copies, again the process to bring it all together into something cool!

I'm sorry, but I have to comment. Many years ago, I went to college for design. What you do in your projects is what I did in my projects and in my career. Creative thought is one thing, but the ability to then will it into reality is really rare. Not everyone can do it. You do it every YT video. Making changes, forging a new path and moving on to what is in your brain isn't always easy and sometimes very messy. Not all viewers appreciate that. Consider my arm figuratively patting you on the back....now get back to work!

Mr. Ian, when you started to chalk the outline of the cab structure I'm like 'I don't see it!" But, as usual, you pulled it off... the rabbit out of the hat so to speak... then, when it was welded to the frame and you sat in it again, I thought it might be too tall and I was waiting for you to say something, but, no, the proportions are good... of course, I never doubted you... PS, thanks for putting me onto Rat Rods for Africa... I was born in Nairobi, finished school in good ol' Sarf Efrika and so on.... now I live in Florida... go figure...

I have been a Roussel fan since the crazy, wild Monster Garage days and Ian's chaotic way of creating custom vehicles is a bright spot to help continue the culture for kids...i would imagine that MOST of the negativity comes from people that wish they had a fraction of Ian's talent...keep it up Ian and don't let these "Negative Nancy's" slow you down...

Totally awesome.....you will always have my pre-like, how can anyone not like this type of entertainment. That looks like a ride for "The Munsters"...,you're......."The Rousells"

Hey Dude and Dudette! Iv recently retired and started on a lifelong dream to own a 3 wheel chopper. Going by the Idea that " If you don't build it, You don't own it" I've started on my own build. Thanks for letting me tag along for yours,,, this episode definatly solved some issues I was having. Delightedly I await your next episode!
