I keep mine in for two months. I also do them quite small. They last way longer, When I do them that way. I've worn Mini braids for 7 and 1/2 months of this year. I retained 3.7 inches so far. Which don't seem like much. Looking at my Ruler for measurement,I'm satisifed with it. Mini braids is the only way I've retained length.

I almost always wear my hair loose. If I put in any braids they are usually large and not mini so maybe 2 - 4 at most and then I pin them up into a bun. The longest I leave them in is a week.
Some BW can grow their hair with mino twists and or braids. For me, I'm of Afro Caribbean descent- and have 4 type hair (which grows) but it has seasons when yhe growth is slow. I've had my mini twists in for about 7 weeks= 1 inch of growth. O don't wash my hair but clean my scalp weekly with aloe vera+ rubbing a part of the leaf on my scalp then down to my ends. Then i use oil, butter-hair grease to seal. Simple tings (late- mid 40's)...age is a sweet gift
Right! Mini twist and braids to help grow our hair. For me mini twists give me more tangles. My hair tends to lock up easily and I think it’s because I have fine medium density hair so it’s prone to breakage if I keep them in for longer. But for mini braids I can have them in for longer with little to no breakage. And yeah, I do the same thing. I clean my scalp by rubbing aloe Vera gel on my scalp and seal that with a butter like you see in this video or oil.
I need to get braids back into my hair asap. I have been wearing my hair out now for some weeks and I got so much tangles and knots 😩 it's bad. But with just one day off of work it's been hard to fit a schedule. I will do my braids like yours, medium size.
