@24:07 - 100% agree. I owned a few Porsches in the past but nothing beats the fun you have in a Mini Cooper S R53. More smiles per mile than any other car I have owned. I posted a few highlight video’s on my YT channel - a few friends on a spirited drive a few weekends back in SW Wisconsin USA. Great fun! Yes we may have bent the speed limits at times but not too badly… it just the way the car handles in the turns, the acceleration out of the turns. Just today I was texting a buddy who is selling his 911… strongly suggested he buy a 2006 R53. Congrats on passing the MOT. Look forward to what is next.
@@billcunningham8485 just goes to prove that you don’t need mega BHP to have fun. I actually think my m4 at 450BHP is way too much for the road- NEVER able to give it full beans 😕 I’ll take a look at your video. I hear a lot of you guys talking about Canyon driving sounds like fun. My brother and I are wanting to do part of route 66 in the near future and take in Bonneville also just booked a family vacation next year driving from San Francisco to Vegas- can’t wait!!!! 👍
@@RichT53 awesome! Yes my family and I need to do some roadtrips. My son is 12… already. Got to get on the road to see stuff before he becomes less interested in hanging out with his parents. If you can, time your trip to Vegas with the SEMA show in November - it is an amazing experience. I have been four times and headed back this year with a few car minded friends. I consult (technology) with a growing brake part sales website which gets me in the door. I met Edd China my last time at SEMA. Talked to him for a few minutes. Really a very nice guy. Vegas is fun either way. Lots to see and do outside of gambling. Check out the Grand Canyon - helicopter rides leave from the LV Strip.
Rich I'm made up for you. A couple of minor things for a 20 year old car is nothing. I liked the shot of the underside, it looks immaculate, spot on mate you should be really proud of what you've achieved. As for selling I'd be inclined to keep at least for a short period and reap the rewards if the blood, sweat and tears shed, you deserve it. Like you say put it up for sale, if the right buyer comes along at the right price take it. Enjoy your boat trip an when you get back give us a teaser of the next project you have in mind.
@@BigCol78 cheers Col, much appreciated 😊 Very pleased with the results and to get the MOT pass was a big achievement for me. I think you are right, I should get some enjoyment out of it before someone else does 👍👍
Damn, got no signal 😢 Rich. I'm on holiday in Skeg Vagas, we're having a night out at the banger races. I hope it passed, I'm looking forward to seeing the video when I can. No spoilers though
Hey mate I've been following this adventure of yours and it's great!! I was just wondering if there's much drone from the Malian exhaust as you got the resonated sports performance yeah?
@@INNITR53 Hi there, thanks for your kind comments- much appreciated!! I really like the tone of the exhaust as it’s not too loud for day to day but when you put your foot down you get a really good tone and a few pops & bangs in the overrun 😊😊 I haven’t taken it on a motorway though to be able to comment on that. Hope that helps matey 👍👍
@@RichT53 Thanks mate!! I ordered it and have heard mixed reviews and got a little bit weary after committing to the purchase, you probably have the better quality of video/audio equipment that captures the sound well then what a lot of others are using to make their vids and your video is basically the reason why I got it.
Hi rich, how did you fix the rear handbrake, I'm having the same issue with the nearside on the rear of my R53.....even though I've fitted brand new rear calipers, cheers......paul.
@@pauljeffries Hi Paul, it wasn’t too difficult tbh. I had to play around with the adjustment at the handbrake to even up the cables to make sure they pulled evenly. The callipers were ok. Have you checked the adjustment at the handbrake? Rich
@@RichT53 thanks for answering, i havent had a look underneath the console yet, I'll do that at the weekend, thanks, great series by the way, the car looks ace 👍
@@pauljeffries No worries, When you remove the centre console be careful of the wires to the handbrake and tyre pressure switch. It's only held in with a couple of screws. 👍
@@Andyrmcculloch Hi there, not sold yet matey. I’ve a couple of small jobs to sort out when back off family holiday. Need to sort steering wheel as it’s slightly off alignment and regas aircon. 👍
Damn, got no signal 😢 Rich. I'm on holiday in Skeg Vagas, we're having a night out at the banger races. I hope it passed, I'm looking forward to seeing the video when I can. No spoilers though
