I bought Mini Se two months ago. Bought it used. 2 years old with only 13000 km. So I saved my self a headache over value loss in a first year or two. It is used as second car and it is perfect. Even the low range does not bother me. Due to a smaller battery car is not heavy and charges fast. For all long range distances i still use petrol powered car and for everything else this little pocket rocket. I cann't recall the last time I had more fun on a road than in this MINI. Never had range problems. Max in a day I had 120 km. Otherway 30-50 km. All who did a test drive with it came with a big smile on their faces out of the car. 184 hp instant torque is addictive😊. Still need to test the highway drive and fast chargers since i have E pannels on my roof and been using only home charging. All in all I would reccomend it. First I wanted I3 but I reconsidered due to carbon built chassis of the I3. It is great light and everything but expensive for repairs.

You can see the battery percentage in the instrument cluster. Where you had the kWh/100km consumption on the lower right, scroll through those and the battery % is shown.

Interesting...when Bjorn tested it, he was really blown away with the consumption...it's still one of the lowest on the google sheet...

The aerodynamic drag of the Mini is not great. So, there is a larger range penalty as the speed goes up. The drag goes up by the square of the speed (and colder air increases the drag, too). The power needed goes up by the CUBE of the speed.

In the US, this well-appointed EV is the least expensive you can buy. And, unlike the Chevy Bolt or any Tesla, it qualifies for the $7,500 federal EV tax credit. In some states you can buy two MINI Cooper SEs for the price of a Tesla. My SE is more fun than any other EV--for 110 miles. If it had more range, it would be heavier, and not drive like a MINI Cooper.

@@eminiman4393 just wondering have you taken this on a road trip? How is the actual range on the hwy and is it worth buying? We have a 2016 fiat 500e that is great in the city and for daily driving, but it’s range and lack of fast charging make it unable to actually take a trip in. Thanks for any info. We are considering an se. The price and tax credit seem like a great deal.

@@Goliath7781 Thanks to the pandemic, I never go anywhere. So the MINI Cooper SE's range is perfect for the daily driving I do around town. I'm happy not to be hauling around a 250-mile battery whose weight would actually reduce the efficiency of my regular driving. We have a Honda Clarity Plug-In Hybrid for long trips, but since getting the MINI, it just sits in the garage while my wife and I arrange our schedules so we can each drive the MINI.

It seems that the battery capacity is very low (24kWh) in comparison to the claimed groos capacity (35kWh). Probably the battery has a faulty module.

The nominal battery capacity of the CATL (not Samsung, like the i3) battery is 32.6 kWh. MINI says the usable capacity is 28.9 kWh.

@@madrid01full I don't dispute your math. I was reporting what MINI claims about the usable battery capacity. RU-vidrs have proven MINI is way too conservative on their acceleration times, so their battery capacity claims may also lack real-world accuracy. If you're right, the real-world battery capacity is less than MINI's claims. I never push my MINI Cooper SE close to fully discharged, so I've never experienced the discrepancy.

Ride is much better with one inch smaller wheels and 2.1 tyre pressure Would give it 7 out of 10 now Test drive with the standard wheels and 2.5 tyre pressure Was 5 out of 10 Glad I changed that before bying

Mini has very bad aerodynamics! Great to see a compost light aerodynamic car with the same mechanical bits? Good test though as expected results poor for Mini a town fashion car really! I do like the inside. But our our BMW 33kw is better I think. Good test all the best buzz #buzzofftoxic 👍🌍💚

Battery weight is what is keeping the range lower anymore and the ride would suffer, just had a Zoe for a month and that is what you could call a great EV but a terrible car.

Servus, ich glaube du hast zum Großteil dt. Zuschauer. Da könntest du dir den 90 km Test doch sparen. Bei solchen Autobahntest sind ohnehin die Autos mit großer Batterie interessant und nicht die Stadtflitzer. Ich fände es auch noch gut wenn du in die schönen Tabellen noch die resultierende Reichweite einfügen würdest. Nur so als Anregung.
