GiGi I was assured The Kennel Club's breeder for Miniature Dachshunds, but retired from breeding with my girls. This was planned the last litter of Lola and I made this video firstly for my memory, knowing that I will no longer have this chocolate buttons running around my house and garden. I was breeding only this colour 🍫. I have another video when they grow up. Link in the description box.

Iryna has given you very good advice. ALWAYS deal with a REPUTABLE breeder. Start with the AKC....they have a lot of info on their website. The AKC has a disclaimer saying that a breeders presence on their website is not an AKC endorsement of that breeder. Beware of a breeder that claims to have "tea cup" sized puppies, since purebred dogs should meet their Breed Standard. Extra small dogs are very likely to have more health problems. If/when you can find a breeder with "your" puppy, maybe you could consider going to get it as a nice vacation trip? I would try to get straight back again to your home for the sake of the puppy needing a settled and consistent home environment. Good Luck with your search.
