HMMMM OK that will work ok i guess....BUT...i would put something at the end of the thump , due it may be abit weak but weld a peice in between them well defitnly be stronger . also it would be nice if you had shownin us the full veiw on how you hook the hydruic n thump etc
Thank you for the advice. I’ve been contemplating about that for some time now. I may just add a piece at the end of the thumb. This was my first RU-vid video. When I was building the thumb I didn’t think about making a video to put on RU-vid. Not until I was finished when a cousin of mine suggested that I should put it online. That’s why I don’t have the complete build. Sorry.
Where did you get the round stock for the pivot pin? The proportions of that thumb look perfect for the size of your machine. Good Job! I will build one for my Takeuchi TB016 which looks similar.
Thank you!! When I first hooked everything up, I went to my local yanmar dealer to ask that same question. He told me because it came from the factory already plumbed I didn’t need to adjust anything. Good luck on your build!
Hi, How hard was it to adjust the relief valve on your vio 15? Thanks! I have a Vio 17, and it looks hard to get to the adjustment , and I'm not sure which one is it
Fortunately I didn’t have to do any adjustments. The machine came from the factory with a thumb on it. The yanmar dealership took the thumb off and sold it separately. Sorry I wasn’t much help.🤙🏽
Nice job. How think a steel plate did you use ? So if you curl the bucket does it just push the thumb back in? Assume just blows the relief valve on the AUX line.
Thank you... I used a 7/16 thick steel plate. That’s what I had just laying around in my steel pile. It has a relief value, so when I push the thumb with the bucket it dose go back in.
I have a question I have no experience with these kind machine but I wane put a thump on my vio 17 I don’t know how to find the fittings o couplers maybe you can tell how
My vio15 came all plumbed from the factory. The cylinder mount was already welded to the machine. I just needed to find the right length hydraulic cylinder to use. Once you have the cylinder, then you can take it to your hydraulic store to find the right fittings for it. If your machine is already plumbed for it, you need to take the hydraulic plugs/stopper with the cylinder so they can determine the fitting size from the machine. Hope this helps!👍 Good Luck!
Try and mount the cylinder to the machine so you can determine the length of your hoses. Then take the cylinder and the plugs to your local hydraulic store. From there they can find the right fittings for you. 🤙🏽
Ya nice but how did you go about building it? It's one thing to ah (cough) show us... It's another to actually go and explain how you figured it out. That would be useful to us DYI guys.
Sorry, I don’t have any footage of building it because it wasn’t meant to go on RU-vid. After it was completed, my cousin said I should make a video of what I have.
