A few people already commented but yes, the number all over the car (302) is specific to THIS Mini. They are very limited, only 2000 of these JCW GPs are being produced, and you got the 302nd :)

I just traded in my 21 type r for this.....I Iove this car!!! If you are looking for a street legal go kart this is basically it. Loved type r but wasn't me, does not bring the same smile this did. I recommend if you can find one drive it you will smile and laugh for sure. It's like a fwd mi I hellcat

I turned off the Active Sound Device (ASD) by setting it from very loud to hybrid. It's now just the true engine and exhaust noise. A huge difference.

You can disable the Active Sound Device (ASD) with Carly for BMW or Bimmercode. That makes the sound more realistic and true. 3,000 made for the world and 500 came to the US. #2974.

I won a Mini Cooper Business edition last year. Idea was to sell it, until I drove it. Mini's are crazy fun to drive. It a basic model but its so fast and sticky to the road.

I wonder if the steering is GP specific because my 2020 Cooper is the most direct steering I’ve ever felt.

I think at 12:25 you nailed it. A lot of people do, in fact, want a high-performance car with an auto for an affordable price. That's one of the main reasons I got my GTI recently. It came down to a GTI or an Elantra GT Sport. I wanted a hatch and a good automatic, which it turns out the GTI's DSG is probably the best right now in terms of the more "mainstream" brands. But man this car looks insane. That's a good bit of power for FWD. I was expecting the transmission to be kinda meh, but it seems not to be. I don't know that the GP in particular is a good daily-able car though, which kinda devalues the automatic. I just wish they'd stop with the fake engine sound. It sounds even more fake on camera somehow.

Modern MINI’s have always had fast and responsive steering. It’s what contributes to that “go kart feel”. Dial back that steering response and feedback and you lose a lot of that character. BMW/MINI is really getting soft. Hopefully the GP’s steering can be corrected with more negative camber or upgraded control arms or something. Maybe even an electronic power steering “tune” too.

it has 306 horse power, and the number on the side panel and the passenger side are the unique numbers of the car, I have 1948.

Never seen one in person it definitely be rare whoever gets one and sounds like its srt4 with good ole tourqe steer

I'll need to hurry up and win that lottery though, usually I don't buy anything less than 10 years old and I just don't think this will depreciate enough or even be easy to find in the classifieds. I liked this car more at the end of the video than the beginning.

Like all previous GP’s it’s really built for MINI fanatics and no one else. It’s certainly not much of a value proposition but MINI knows that. I’m a huge fan of MINI’s, having owned a a Manic Motorsport tuned R56 S which I wish I never sold! Sounds like the newest GP is a tad numb which a MINI should never be. First gen R53 GP was the most “pure” modern MINI. Kinda downhill since.

Separating from this car and hot hatches specifically. Would be absolutely cool if you could get your hands on a regal gsx with a stage 3 package, or any w body style Regal gs. It was and still is a proper sleeper and surprisingly alive even though you would think a church goers car looks numb.

You're totally honest in your drive but this literally shouts the question, who would actually buy one of these??? Massive torque steer, combined with terrible on center feel. It looks mildly dangerous when you're on the power, going around a turn on a relatively bumpy road. I mean if you're creating something called GP, it better be superb from a driving feel standpoint. This seems anything but that. In comparison, a CTR has legendary feel, is likely just as quick, costs less, and has more space. I owned a type r for a month, until I decided yeah too much car for the street, and not for me anymore.... there seems worse in literally every way. JCW clubman seems the better 300hp mini - but now that I've seen the odd steering feel/on center numbness - I'm not sure I'd actaully want one of those either. Wish you could've gotten a '20 jcw clubman to drive.

Lul hideous looks. Can't talk trash about the Civic R looks with thing around. One of my guys Pdi'd this thing and I took a ride to get lunch about half a mile away. Bone jarring ride...like no wheel travel harsh. Salesman told me theyre trying for 10k markup (lulz), for 55k+ (even 46k) is for Mini enthusiasts only because I'm looking at a M240i right in front of me with more HP, rwd, no cost 6 speed manual for 47k. You must have a peanut brain to buy one of these....unless you really like Minis.
