Great in depth review! I use my Kanken mini for my everyday / work bag and it is absolutely amazing for that. Fits everything I need, sometimes fits my lunch too! I absolutely adore the embroidery, and I might give it a go myself
I jave my Kanken mini since mid 2019. I used daily through out 2019-2020 and occasionally in 2021-2022. The fabric softens after few months of usage, and somewhat the strap too. Not much, but it somewhat longer. Love your review though and the colour of your mini and the embroidery 😆
Was thinking about buying a mini Kanken... but those straps are a big deal breaker for me. I have a couple cute mini backpacks that I love, but I dont wear because of the size of the straps. I'm not a stick thin person, so they tend to dig into my arms if I wear both straps at once -_-
If you want the fabric to feel less stiff you can machine wash it, it will give the fabric more of a cotton feel. The stiffness will not go away over time unless you do that, it's one of the characteristics of the vinylon fabric. If you would want to maintain the stiffer fabric you should only hand wash it, very gently.
@@cubemissy You should know that Fjällräven advises against machine washing their bags for that reason. Many people (myself included) would consider a machine washed bag to be ruined, but if you like it that way, go ahead!
Your bag is supeeerrrr cuteeee! I absolutely love the colors and the embroidery! I also totally agree with you about the straps! I unfortunately don't wear my mini kanken because of the strap length. It feels like it's too high on my back.
@@MissDreamerGTO Most welcome! I wouldn’t know if I didn’t have a screwed up back. I accidentally found a video on RU-vid from Kanken on how to adjust the straps & they mentioned where it’s supposed to sit. I’ve worn backpacks (of all kinds) low on my back for years. Whoops. 🤷🏼♀️🤣
I enjoyed the review, as I am in the market to buy one for my fiance'. Just one thing to point out Fjallraven when they designed the bag they designed the side pocket for umbrellas and not water bottles. They have a separate water bottle "pouch" to hold hydro flasks etc
I always carry my Mini in my hand since the straps are too short. I may throw it over one shoulder every now and then but in general I carry it in my hand.
I recently got the Kanken mini and I totally feel the same way about the strap lengths. I’ve seen people have them lower so I was kinda sad that it was way too high. How is it now, did the material “relax”?
I feel like I've also seen them lower on people so I was confused at first when I tried mine on! To be honest I haven't worn it enough for the material to relax. I feel like it definitely should but am not sure if it would relax enough for me since I like my backpacks to hang low on me.
@@KatherineMichelleYT Thank you for your feedback! I was also looking into getting a Julian Mini because of your review of it. Does it hold up pretty well when it gets wet?
Kimberly Anne Austria I would say it does well in the rain. It’s water resistant so usually it’ll keep what’s inside dry. Just don’t submerge your bag in water haha.
