Thank you for posting. We just lost our mini-lop at 8-3/4 yrs. I can attest he was a real digger. So much personality, so joyful and happy. We miss him terribly. He died of old age--all systems shut down. He had a good life, but it's hard to let go.
I have a Holland Lop that I've had since he was a baby (6 years) and he's great and I love him. I had no idea these guys had so much personality. I rescued a female (not sure of her mix) in the last year or so, and they crack me up every day. I went in with Mookie (the Lop) originally because I couldn't have a dog where I live, but had no real knowledge of rabbits. I've since obviously learned a ton, but first and foremost is that these guys are pretty much a mix of dog and cat and love you right back - they just prefer to be on the ground. Don't expect a bun to be in your lap all of the time - most of them prefer to be grounded because they are prey animals. Bring yourself down into their zone and they will shower you with affection, IF that is their personality. They all have their own quirks. I'm a bunny guy now for life.
You got this spot on! Thanks for the comment! Accepting that they are prey animals and prefer to stay on the ground is proof that you are a bun guy for life!
I have an orange bun too, Hubert! When I am upset with his shenanigans I call him angry orange! Luv yer buns. Hubie's a mini. Your buns r sweet wittle potatos n I look forward to seeing more🐇☮️❤️
People keep telling me I have a Holland lop when I really have a Mini Lop. I love his long ears and he loves to be pet. He does dig a lot on my floors, but I try to keep his nails trimmed. He's three years old now, and has learned pretty much what he's allowed to do and what's off limits. Occasionally he gets himself in trouble, but I have no qualms leaving him loose when I go out. I do crate him at night, just so I can get a better night’s sleep. He is welcome at most of my friends houses when I travel. They can't believe how good and how smart he is! I feel good about spreading the word about free range bunnies and would never ever cage a rabbit again!
Cute video! Disagreed at the personality & blocky head thing tho… It depends on the individual rabbits type & personality when it comes to those things IMO. 😉
Oh my goodness your spot on my mini lop has torn up half my spare bedroom floor and if I try to put anything on ground he’ll have it shredded in 8 hours
I was just looking up what my bunny's breed could be when I came across your RU-vid, and I'm also from bucks county pa! Do you sell your rabbits to local pet stores? Maybe I got my bunny from you
Question: I've got three bunnies that are around 1 year and whole are around 20 cm (8 inch) , the puppy 2 months is 10 cm (4 inch). I call them "big as cats" (I don't even know if call them "small" or "medium" since they are huge)... what they are? Are they Holland Lop or too big? LOL Puppy is frenetic and really sleep with me and never wants to be far away from me, mom and dad don't want to have to do with me but they are quite and docile. Color: both puppy and dad are grey, mom is half grey with tan. To me Holland but aren't they too huge?
@@qeetcode if your still without a bun I recommend adopting because there are so many bunnies that are left and they may not be a holland lol but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter because they still have big hearts
