my son just bought a mag light with his birthday money for his scouting trip. he seached & wanted the 3-D LED mag light from amazon. i told there are 4,5,& 6-D lights but he told me didn't want a baseball bat, lol! plus some of the bigger ones were not LED & he really wanted one with LED to save on the batteries. i'll have to check into this pro mini mag since i like lights that are over 200 lumens. thanks for sharing!

I bought my dad one for his birthday earlier this month (the 272 lumen version) I had to pick myself one up yesterday. I love mini mags and love how you can stuff it in a pocket and forget about it and the pouch for your belt is even better.

I was a security guard from 2000 to 2004. We were issued mini mag lites. I don't know if the led O e's were out yet. They were great lights! I'm tempted to get a Pro version.

Another great vid, Fred. I've had my eye on the LED version for quite some time. As far as I can remember, mini maglite was the FIRST, and for quite some time the ONLY flashlight made primarily as an EDC. I was on the JFK beginning in '87 and EVERYONE carried one back in those days, lol.

Fred I'm late in commenting on this video but I noticed your larger Maglite; I got the L.E.D. upgrade for my 3D Mag and it's crazy bright now! They are made by Nite Ize.

I bought a mini maglite led pro and I love it. It worked great until a coworker dropped it onto concrete from the floor of the truck. I bought a repair kit thing at home depot but it only fit the old kind. Is there a repair kit for em and how do you change out the bulb? I already purchased a second but i would like to fix this one as a back up.

Love the Mag lites. But you're right they do eat batteries. That's why now for everything we have invested in rechargeable batteries.They have a longer life and can be recharged up to about 500 times. Really like that fiber optic accessory,need to get one. Thanks for the great review.

Happy 4th belated and congrats on joining the vfw. Nice review. Just want to say that eneergizer keychain light is my favorite light I use it daily. It takes little room in my pocket and it is bright, Very snooth lines doesn;t get hung up on anything. I thank you very much for sending me that in the prize package among the cool things! I got mine same model and I like it. Im also at the IT world and this becomes very handy... Im replacing and brand X flashlight. this one is awsome. I dont really care for the strobe and other options since I had one and most likely never used. This one is really bright. Thank you for your review.

I dropped the one I got like last year, about a meter without the cap on... It didn't hit the LED, but it hasn't worked correctly. Such a great flashlight though, will definitely grab another. I liked being able to switch power levels, SOS, etc, kind of disappointing, even if these are a little brighter... :/

Does anyone know if in the classic non LED Mini Mags fit an NiMH rechargeable battery? I plan to buy a set of these Mini MagLites with Xenon bulbs but I use exclusively NiMH (Eneloop or Tenergy) rechargeable batteries. These models with the Xenon bulb can be upgraded by an 100 Lumen LED module.

I have one of these and the light goes out by itself when you are using it. You have to tap the sides to get it to come on....then it keeps going out. Really frustrating to use when it won't stay on.

2021 Amazon was dumping these for about $9. A MUCH better Belt pouch is a cheap $5 9mm 15 rnd Velcro Mag pouch. Positive retention!

walmart here dont carry those. they only have a shitty 14 lumin or the 84 lumin but it only comes in a combo with the giant one

hey i got the 84 lumen 2aaa mini mag and it flashes when battery is low. exactly 1 in 3 seconds. do they all do that?

Yes. You do NOT want to look directly into one of these suckers-with or without the reflector on. I have the latest model of the AA LED Pro that's rated at 272. I literally glance at the diode, and it hurts. As long as you don't continuously stare at it though, you won't do permanent damage. You'll just end up with a bothersome blue spot in your vision for about a day or so while your retina regenerates. Absolutely amazing flashlights. I recommend getting one.

GTRGTX999 The AA Mini Maglite LED Pro is best for working/navigating at night, mostly. They're really good lights for walking at night and/or searching for things-All around a good "Carry-on" flashlight. I use mine for navigating the house at night, as well as a bike light (I have a mount for it), and-when I'm doing electrical work in the basement or anywhere else dark for that matter-as an area light by putting it in candle mode (which is actually really useful on this model, as it can light up good-sized room). It's not the best for long-range (Get a D-Cell LED Mag for long range) but still is visible from far away, and they're too bright for looking at things up close (things about three feet from your face) so I also carry a standard incandesent AA Mini Maglite for close-up lighting.

SgtMjrTibbets Another thing to note is that if you're going to be using this model (as opposed to the plain LED Mini Maglite), be ready to buy a LOT of batteries. This thing eats right through them. If, however, you like using rechargable AAs, I suggest getting High-Density NiMH batteries such as Rayovac Recharge Plus batteries. You can find batteries like that here: www.rayovac.com/Batteries/Rechargeable-Batteries-And-Chargers/Recharge-Plus-Batteries-And-Chargers/Recharge-Plus-AA-4-Pack.aspx I use these in mine and am able to squeeze four and a half hours of use per charge.

is this a hard to find model? I can't find them anywhere.....only the mini maglite LED and mini maglite pro+, and the AAA mini maglite LED I'm in Vancouver Canada and nobody has them here. even emailed every store and they said they don't carry this model I do not want any of the other flashlights that have all the different modes, blinking, SOS, moonlight mode......that's all useless crap to me. I just want a flashlight that turns on and off and has a lot of light. nothing more irritating than having to cycle through all the different modes, including SOS, beacon, strobe......just to get some light. keep it simple I think most of the people that want all the gimmicks and different modes just like to play with them or just for bragging

Use it as weapon??? 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Yes oneway weapon..... I dare you to try🤕🤕🤕 The flashlight is ruined!!!!! The batteries will press to each other and brake.also the spring at the back will squished . If you hit from the bulb point the batteries will hit the upper section of the flashlight and brake it.
