Every one of those prototypes would have sold, if launched at the time, except ado21, that was bloody awful lol

thats correct, was going to be a 986cc 3 cylinder, giving about 75mpg combined, was going to be ground breaking lean burn tech. but the gov stopped it, they would loose millions on fuel tax. so the gov, gm, ford and european makers went the caty route. burning more fuel, to get the cat hot, meaning more materials, more jobs, more tax. in the end, rover under bmw, would produce a one off mini, called the minKi, using the 4 cylinder version. like the morris minor was cut in half and widened, the miniki was cut in 4, widened and lengthened, the minKi is still up gaydon, ill take a few pics, when i go up again next month. rover also developed a lean burn all alloy v8 version the gmc rover v8 as well, called the iceberg, giving over 60mpg back in the 70s/80s, again the gov scrapped it.

the k series was always to be turbo charged as well, was about 30 years ahead of gm and fiat etc, who have been doing ot for about the last 12 years, in the corsa and cintichento

the gov plan was, under agenda 21, to de industrialise britain, get rid of all manufacture and drop pollution to zero, as they could say, they was the first to do it. only problem is, when your buying in all your tech, you become a third world country and thats what we are today! even all profits from rolls royce n bentley goes straight back to the 4th reich!
