Hello from NZ. Great commentary - typical Dutch sense of humour! Respect for your fluent English. I drove an Isetta bubble car in my youth and have often wondered why some manufacturer hadn't taken up the cause and provided a modern equivalent. Here's the answer in the Highland 45. I used to cruise the Isetta at 37mph. It could go faster but the ride was hairy!
Thank you for the comment , these mini micro cars are all over the place these days , young or old folks , everybody loves them , they are part of everyday traffic so nobody gets nervous when a thingie like that is in front of you , most do between 50 and 60 km/h , PS , is the Isetta still around ? , grtz from Holland , P.
dutchurbanminer No, unfortunately! The Isetta cost $185 in 1967 (it was a 1958 model) and I used it as my only car for 13000 miles, then it spat the dummy. Replacement parts would have cost more than the car was worth, so it was sold cheap to someone who put a stationary Honda donkey in it. BUT! ... about 10 years ago, one from a car collection came up for auction, and it sold for $22,000!!! So, with the 20/20 vision of hindsight, we should have kept it and done it up with genuine parts. It was not an economical little car, though; 40 - 45 mpg if you were lucky, about the same as the 1937 Austin 7 it replaced. Cheers.
Colin Gantiglew We all know how cheap the cars and bikes were in those days compared to todays prices , if I had an old moped bought for 25 and sold for 50 now that was a huge profit , nowadays that same old moped is worth a small fortune , if I would have kept all the incomplete or parts bikes I ever owned I could fill a space like a church... But... , the dreams and some pics are still ther !!
i have a Microcar M.GO DCI i can asure everyone that these cars are the best option if you want to drive small distances but still be dry and warm in the winter, and cool in the summer (with the airconditioning option) and parking is prety easy with the rear camera and parking sensors its a dream car in my opinion plus, no car driving license needed, a AM driving license is enough
It's like John Candy and Eugene Levy voices merged into one. As they roll out the cars for Smallville. I want this guy to do voice acting for my animations.
That first one was a Micro car the second was a Microscopic car (the "car" part is being generous) but I'd bet it would make a good yard car for large compounds.
That 2nd car is a funny little thing, nothing more than a mobile drivers seat, that sounds like a Lawn mower...haha - I didn't expect him to unload it the way he did, I was sitting here wondering to myself, how is he going to turn that around and off-load it, easy when you see it done eh? I'll stick with my Sprinter thanks. :-))))
What the sound like to one of these buying one in February cud I de restrict these diesel how do u do it I live In uk how loud is this compare to car . More vid plz
The tiny car has a 160 or 200cc Honda engine so it sounds a bit like a lawnmower but how he got it off the deck was a simple suprise , no lefthand railing..... , I think it will fit through your Sprinters side door or even your housedoor..... park it next to the TV.....
I want one so bad, I have a license but I dont want a regular car I just need something to go to the metro station every day because the buses are unreliable haha. But I dont know if they are legal here in Spain.
Schrödinger the cat Like any car they must be tested on safety before being sold , most of these mini micro cars got the normal safety features like airbags , seatbelts , ABS , etc but the driver should take some ridinglessons before taking it on the road.
Any spare parts for these tiny cars must be made of pure gold - one should be aware of this and take a look into the price-list, before buying such a ... box.
in finland those are really common, because they are legal to drive when you are 15 years old,i myself have this moped but i had the choice to get a mopedcar, but i didnt want one...reliable little diesels (the old aixams especially) but really unsafe during crash, just a few months ago, some guy drove his van over one trying to kill himself, but ended up killing the two 17yos in the mopedcar... He thought that it was a bigger car..
My pop used to call the little cheap cars (Vega, Pinto, Geo...etc) Prole-cars. It appears we shall all be relegated to that status in the coming years even in the US.
Why don't they make it 15 centimeter longe and more rounded shape of back , the one that is grey, that would let to make normal comfortable second sit behind the drivers sit , and rearrange there nice system of back sit transformation to get enough place for cargo if driver rides alone.
I love these cars. But in China, these cars are illegal. They are not safe to drive. We treat a three wheels car as a motorcycle not a four wheels one.
dutchurbanminer They also sever a gas engine? Great. I like gas engine with a low noise. What type of gas engine does it use? A gas engine with two cylinders?
