Very nice terrarium. Maybe you have a link to your terrarium prior to planting. It is very interesting how the frame on which the plants sit looks like. How is watering and ventilation. It turned out amazing. Bravo!
I’m blown away by how gorgeous this is!! Any chance you could post a video showing how this is set up in your home or provide in comments what you used in your terrarium? Is that rock that all the plants are attached to? I presume you have a humidifier in the terrarium right? Any information you have so I can build my own to be a fraction as beautiful as your would be most helpful. Thanks!
I am also blown away by this impressive setup and its plants. I would also love to have some more info on the tank (humidity and temperature control, fan system, etc.).
It's one of the most beautiful, if not the most beautiful design I've ever seen. So many species, so much diversity, gorgeous textures and colors, a true feast for the eyes! I especially love your Lepanthes calodictyon (or similar looking species), and the beautiful Sophronitis coccinea :) You've inspired me to build a terrarium for my miniature orchids, thank you so much (I'll start with something much smaller, though, as I've never done this before).
This is Beautiful, I’m planning on setting a terrarium like this too, how did you get the moss to grow in so thick, was it grown out before adding or did you only put small amounts in first
Hi Phong, are most of your miniature orchids growing in live moss? Or did you plant them in dry moss before, and then the live moss grows on top of it? Thanks very much!
Wauw, thats realy beautifull!! 😍 May i ask how often you water the terrarium? Im trying to make something like this aswell and im rather new to this 🙂 Im about to start planting and have it set up to 5x 20 seconds per day.. But dont know if that may be to much..?
Hi, what is the small fern that is almost everywhere in the tank and looks like bolbitis diformis? And another question - you wrote that the tank is 7 years old. Are all those thin branches stay there for all this time without rotting?
Pls teach me how do all these plants sit on? Is on soil? Those plants on the side of the cork surface, how to plant the plants on it? Is also on soil? I want to build this, please teach me. Thanks
Hi, You have the most beautiful terrarium, I've ever seen. Could You help me identify the following species, please? Purple leaf at 1:24 and the perfect green/purple at 4:45. Thanks! Keep up the good work, and upload videos as You can!
I think the purple leaf ones at 1:24 are our native green fly orchids. They live in the Carolina’s and turn purple in stronger light. Super cold hardy for an orchid.
Is the tank something you built or modified, or is that something commercially available? Your reply to another comment seemed to suggest this is a stock tank of some kind. Would love to know the brand/model of you are willing to share as it’s exactly what I’ve been looking for. Thanks!
The orchidearium is very beautiful. I just made mine. What is better if the humidity is lower but the ventilation gaps are larger, or if the ventilation gaps are narrower but higher in humidity? Or should I use a fan and if so in which variation?
Thanks, it’s better with humidity above 60%, most of the plants will do fine with low ventilation or none at all as long as you don’t watered late in the day, I do have two little fans running when the lights are on to avoid overheating the terrarium
You did an amazing job... Congratulations... It's spectacular.... Can you explain a little bit about the humidity and temperature inside the terrarium and how often you water or spray the plants..?? Thank you
That’s some cool growth has the moss etc been established elsewhere then added, how long has it been running at this point and what’s the background made up of? I need someone of your secrets 😁
This have been running for over 5 years, the background is styrofoam came with the terrarium, there’s no secret just have good lights and keep it moist l spray daily
Hey, awesome setup ! Though I don't see from where the air is coming ? I don't see any fans so it looks really great but it still looks like there is some air flow in there, and what about the difference of temperature between day/light for some orchids ? You use a heat lamp in there ?
Thanks, the terrarium design for air flow intake along the front and go up to the top, I do have two fans on when the lights are on, temperature is variable depending on the species of orchids, I would buy the ones specify for terrarium or the ones easy to grow, the heat from the lights is more then enough
