Now THAT’S what you call a real spray pattern on the first mini hvlp. Especially for a mini that’s a beautiful spray fan pattern. Nice and wet and full.
Thais is actually a very good demonstration I have an ANI R150 but now seeing this I would have probably chosen a different gun. Thanks you for doing showing examples of spray patterns with other parameters , such as air pressure , even amongst them all.
Hello I’m between the Sata and. Keats lph80 looking to upgrade my headlight restoration project with clear coat, and no throwing lot of overspray which one do you guys recommend?? And thanks for the Video
Hi buddy, certainly, if you're restoring headlights and want minimal overspray, the LPH80 is the one to go with. It runs lovely at 1.0 bar, giving a great finish. It does seem slow compared to most mini guns, but it shouldn't be a problem doing lights, cheers, mate 👍
Hi, thank you, as you can see the LPH80 does have a small fan, it is a excellent piece of engineering of that there is no doubt, for me it's limited in it's appeal, because of the fan but also its so physically small which doesn't feel good in my hand, a great gun for certain applications 👍
i painted a fender with my LPH-80 1.0 E4 air cap was a pain but wanted to try came out good but took me twice as long as had to do 80% over lap since it's a small fan but did the job i love it for burn in's on bumper's or on doors when blending base in a small area
Hi Mate, As the thing, your painting gets bigger the more the little LPH seems slow 😁, as you say, it can be done you just need to take your time to put enough material on but you do get there 👍
What is your personal and honest opinion on the anr150?. Some reviews state the seal perish in a short space of time and often needs replacing. Really like your channel so keep producing more vids. 👍👍👍
I have one , the one got had a damaged seal behind fluid nozzle was a easy fix , however a absolutely hate the pot and lid it’s a bit tight or deformed, but it doesn’t have the build quality of the others, however the gun sprays great only if the pot was better, maybe look into Iwata az4 impact because of the pot
Hi, I have 3 ANI R150s in various tip sizes and have only needed to to replace the nylon bush on one, I clean my sprayguns after every days use so the bushes are constantly being compressed without problems. The bushes are around £4 GBP for 10 with the application tool so not a worry at all, the standard pot once you get used to it is fine, just turn the lid back before you turn it to tighten and it sits perfectly, the later guns now have a more conventional pot lid so are even better
They all go down too a round circle, which of course is true for any size gun although the quality of the atomization on spot is not so good on any of them
Verticle test is needed to check runs and consistency of paint i spray Black iron door units daily these micro guns hvlp rock low pressure silky coats very sexxy .awesome video ,most don't know their equipment unless their lovers of their trade , Im looking for a spray wond any ideas .
Hi Tony, to a degree I see what you are saying but I don't agree that you need a vertical spray out to see the evenness of a pattern, provided there's enough paint in the pot of a gravity feed gun of course, the evenness of a pattern is obvious as soon as you pull the trigger, any spots that are heavier will ultimately run first and obviously a lot of spraying isn't just vertical. Sorry mate, can't recommend and wands as i don't use them, i know Iwata and Meiji make them in Japan but haven't used any of them, thanks for watching the video, much appreciated 👍
Hi Ken, I think it's just the way it looks rather than what's actually happening. When you see a physically big gun putting out, what looks like a small fan with a 1.0 and a smaller mini gun putting out the same size fan, but, because the gun is only half the size the pattern looks bigger. That's my thinking, but I may well give it a go and see. Cheers, Ken 👍
Hi Rogerio, it's a mixed bag, the Sata has the biggest fan so is better suited if that's what you need most of the time, the LPH 80 is very compact and the best made of the lot, however, for me in use the ANI feels the best in the hand but the gun i would keep if i could only have one is the Sri Pro Lite, it's well made, good in the hand, sprays very well and gives good control when doing smaller parts
Hi , Nice video ! Ι m an artist I work with airbrushes . I would like to prime and top coat large sculptures what you suggest me to buy ?thanks in advance!hope you doing ok with the pandemic..
Hi, Ideally you would want a different gun for primer as it is thicker so you normally want a bigger tip than the 1.2 most mini sprayguns go up too, although the Sri pro lite does have a 1.4 option but that would probably be a bit large for the other things you want to do, so if you wanted a one gun for all i would say the Ani R150 or the Sri pro lite both in 1.2, you will have to thin the primer more than normal but it can be done ok, hope that helps
Pete's Hobbies & Interests Peter Jones hi, no I’ll have that for base and top coat only . I have two airbrushes 0.3 badger for drawing lining and small areas etc thanks for the tip
Hola, el iwata es el más pequeño, seguido por el ANI R150, luego el Sri Pro Lite y luego el Sata, el 4400B tiene aproximadamente el mismo tamaño que el 4000, un poco más pequeño pero no mucho, gracias
Very intresting comparision. If we like the flexibility of the SRI Prolite, but need sometime to go to smaller areas like the LPH80 fan, would we get the same result with a 0.8 or 1.0 SRI ? Would it be as accurate on the edge as the IWATA ? Would you say LPH80 is HVLP and SRI seems more like a HTE ? If so, is ther any difference in the Orange aspect for clearcoat ? Thanks again for your sharing Best
They make a 0.6 micro Sri Pro Lite, or Pro Lite S as it's now called, this runs at 1.0 bar and produces a pattern very similar to the LPH80 in 0.8. The Pro lite S is capable of very good finish in the 0.6, it's my favourite for cycle frames
@peteshobbies5383 great thanks 👌 I missed that point I thought these sri were the same, they look so much identical on the videos. Do they differ only in the nozzle size ? Would it be possible to use one SRI and change between nozzles from 0.6 to 1.2 ? Or do they have structural differencies ? And what about this orange effect? Is that HTE upgrade from HPLV marketing blabla ? Kind regards
@peteshobbies5383 Finally I just ordered a hplv Auarita nova light with 0.8 1.0 and 1.2 nozzles. Seems to me an affordable compromise for a first spraygun to get a better experience before buying a more professional one. Thanks for sharing (Have you test it?)
No, I haven't heard of it until you said, it looks like a generic Chinese mini spray gun. They look slightly different but often have the same air cap and tip drillings, normally you need to up the pressure to get a good finish as they are not as refined as the guns we were talking about earlier
Hi Jeffrey, I would get something like a ANI GF3 1.2 for primer, you will have to thin the primer down or drill the tip of the gun, because helmets are normally a good surface, your not going to repair a helmet so 1.2 should be fine, for base I would go with the ANI R160 1.0 or LPH50 1.0, or the LPH80 1.0 if you want to spend more, then a LPH80 1.2 for clearcoat
I have a SATA 1.2 mm mini jet 4 . I am saving my pennies and hiding from the warden for a iwata lph 80 1.2 mm E4 cap. My question is do you like the spray pattern better for the iwata or MJ? Not size but atomization and spray ? Mine is an help not an RP so that does make some difference. What is your honest input?
Hi Richard, the Iwata does atomise finer, the Sata and the LPH80 are quite different animals, the Sata is more suited to larger areas and the Iwata to smaller projects, if you are asking purely on atomisation the LPH80 is the one
@@peteshobbies5383 Thank you very much. Yes for outright from the gun finish. I seem to get a slightly better finish with the lph 80 . So for bike parts and such it seems to be a better gun. But I tend to like the SATA for larger bike parts like full trike bodies or such or if I need to bury it in clear for my flow coats. I think I will get one if those lph 80s. I'm glad I did see your video . I was leaning to the Ani r160 1.2 or lph 80 for atomization and out the gun finish. I always add just a touch of retarder in my clear coats just for a bit extra flow so it's not that much difference and most would not notice. A guy like you would see the difference but not many would. Thanks
The ANI is a great gun but again it's more like a Sata than an LPH80, better for larger areas and not as fine atomisation, it's also half the price so great value 👍
Hi Dave, no i haven't but there are some on RU-vid and nearly all gun's are the same as far as the controls are concerned, you have fluid, air and fan size, if your new to this the best please to start air wise is to open the air up completely on the gun and use a regulator at the base and set it to the manufacturers recommended figures, a good place to start. Fan is normally set to full on most guns but you may want a smaller pattern sometimes so can adjust if required, fluid depends on a lot of variables which include the viscosity, type of material so priming, basecoat, clear etc, that one is impossible to answer as it's quite specific to what you are doing and the circumstances you're doing it in, hope that helps 👍
@@matmart8669 Hi Mat, I use all of them but would recommend the ANI R160 1.2 HPS or if your budget is higher the Sri Pro Lite TE5 1.2, both really good universal gun's
@@peteshobbies5383 thanks for responding back Pete! Yes so I'm buying the ANI GT spot repair and then also the ANI R160-q. When I get a bit more money I'll get the ProLite. I know you didn't specify the brand of your compressor is that because it doesn't really make a difference? I'm just starting to work with paint repair specifically with alloys and bike frames.
Hi buddy, I prefer the Sri pro lite, it's just as good a finish and uses less than half the air, i did a top 12 mini gun video, link is below 👍 ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-vvHHqHTA0ZY.html
Hi David, that's was a wile ago, the compressor used was a direct drive 50lt capacity with a 14.5 CFM output, easily enough for these mini guns. These days i use two linked belt drive compressors giving 180lt capacity and 29cfm if needed , hope that helps 👍
Comparing is done with the same spray patterns I was looking for the smallest which you did on the first on. Waste of my time to think you could do this right.
