i used to wash my twists and keep rocking them. And i would get tangles at the top. Its makes so much sense to wash and dry them while their twisted, then take them down one by one. versus, taking them all down, washing, re-parting and twisting them back up.

My concern and worry is tangling at the roots😢. I have tried washing it in 4 twists and it tangled badly but I love my mini twists & would love to preserve them longer if I could

have you tried washing in a braid. A braid would secure the twists better

Braids last longer and tangle only on the roots when it grows out .. better for length retention
