Your technique for creating the structure with the foam board, masking tape and tissue coating is inspiring!

i so remember my grandmother, down south on the back porch, churning butter in one of those.

Sweet memory! I remember my grandmother bringing the cream to make butter the first time. It was a lot of work from what I remember.

Thank you! I’m already thinking of the next project. General Stores sell everything lol. Just when I think I’m tackling my list I keep thinking of something else it needs. 😂 Blessings ❤️

You consistently come up with things I can use in my medieval setting, I will get around to putting some pictures on Facebook and let you know, I will tag you for the ideas. I look forward to every new video ❤ I can use this idea for various sizes of buckets too! Thanks Laura!

I’d LOVE to see your creations!! ❤️ I’m so happy that my videos have been helpful for you. Especially since I’m doing more of a western theme. I know that’s probably not a super popular theme. 😂😬

I thought about a Western Theme at one point too, I have a lot of 1:18th scale horse models so I tend to gravitate to scenes with horses as that and liking miniature models, is really what got me into making dioramas. I will give you a shout when I upload some pictures.

@@AnneAndersonFoxiepaws Where did you get your scale horses? I have a deep Love for the old western towns. At some point I’m thinking I will have to make a horse but I’m never made one before. 😂 I want my western town to be inhabited by mice. I’m picturing a mouse riding a horse but in scale to the mouse. 😂 My next structure is going to be an old west Hotel. I look forward to seeing your project! Thanks so much for the shout out! 🥰

This is an excellent tutorial. I need a log basket/bin/barrel for my Book Nook. I have a top to what was an infuser bottle, it’s wooden and is hollow (as I want to hide a very tiny light switch) so, adding the ‘wooden' slats around the top will be a great way to get my log barrel. I will glue some tiny logs to the top and, hopefully, it will be just the job. All I will have to do is lift the barrel to switch the lights on or off. Thanks 👍

Thanks! Glad I helped inspire your switch cover. Your comment inspired me too. I have been saving chalula hot sauce caps. I’m thinking I should try glueing some strips of wood (cardstock) on them. Or since they are wood sand them first. Thanks for inspiring me!🥰

Thank you Laura, this tutorial was just what I needed to make this item for my project. You have got me looking at objects around me and asking ‘now how would Laura make that out of paper’? And, no guilt about using expensive, store bought materials and messing it up, trial and error and pure fun!

I am trying to recreate various room boxes that reflect life in rural Australia in the 1940s. Things were still home made and patched up out of necessity which appeals to my sense of conserving what we have. The kitchen and laundry room were often out-buildings for fear of setting fire to the whole house. Your churn, lamp, cans etc will go in such an out-building.
@Lauras-tinyview
@Lauras-tinyview 6 месяцев назад
@@coby9896 I love that idea! Love that time period too. Long ago I followed a blog from a woman who lived in Australia. I was fascinated with her home. She had her kitchen and bathroom outside. She said the interior walls of her home could be moved around to form different rooms. She was always repurposing and conserving what she had. Even her clothing. She was so unique. I’ve lost touch with her blog but I’ve never forgotten her amazing home and character. I love the idea of patching up out of necessity and conserving what we have. I think that’s just one of the reasons why I am fascinated with the old west. They were strong and resourceful.

Thanks! I’m glad you aren’t giving up on it. It takes practice for sure. I still struggle at times with the triangular strips that foorm a more rounded look. When I’m rolling it my brain wants to do it one way and my hand another. I have had comments about how others have trouble with getting the dome. I saw something on amazon that looked like an upside down paint dish but different size cups that you just push your rolled disc over to get the dome shape. I’m thinking about ordering one to give it a try to hopefully recommend to everyone. 🤗

Yes that’s my issue too they end up staggered not a beautiful graduated curve like yours! 😂 I’m not giving up but will be interested to see you test the formers. ❤
