The addition of the translucent to the red... wonderful idea! I love red but have always dreaded trying to keep the white from turning pale pink when using red with it. I also love that you went that extra step to make both thick and thin stripes. It adds so much to the realism.
+Heather Wells i used t have such a a hard time working with acrylic nails on. i just needed to get the right tools. now my nails actually are little tools them selves. i love your videos be the way!
Omg thank you! I needed this tutorial the way I was doing it was awful but this method makes a perfect cane, I literally squealed in excitement when I finally did it!
Cali Cute Creationz I do have popcorn on the suggestion list. I hope to eventually get around to just about everything :) Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
Your welcome! I am the person who suggested rainbow cupcakes but I changed my user and got a profile pic. My profile picture is of the cheeseburgers I made out of polymer clay from your plain cheeseburger video! 😊
Love it and ty for the awesome tip of smooshing the ends down to bake it straight!! I'm not sure if it has been answered, but, do u bake the full time before slicing? I usually bake my premo 275 F for an hour 😅. Tysm again!! I want to make loads of peppermints candies and bark and everything now!! 🥰🥰🥰
Is there a way to bake a tiny wire hook into the top of the candy cane so make it into a hang-able Christmas ornament for a desktop tree? Would the metal cause the fimo to crack when baking?
Just depends on how thick the clay is. I would sometimes poke in a head pin and cook it with the head pin poking straight through. The when it was cool, I would remove the pin, and stick it in they way I liked
Nicole Parmentier I am so glad that it came out great for you :) I get comments all the time about how long, and boring my tutorials are, or comments saying I talk way too much. I struggle with it, because when I used to teach classes it was very important to show each step clearly.
Do you feel if i was to half all the logs used in the beginning (i don't have a ton of clay) that the same results will be met? Also you said if they where much smaller for the candy cane the clay might crack do you thing if i was to make them smaller to be put in a jar for a necklace they would be okay or is that something i should just try out and see what happens? Thank you for your video!!
Jenifer Sparke Yess! You can make them smaller with the same results. They will crack if you try to put metal though them after baking when they are tiny. If you aren't forcing metal through them they will be fine :) Sewing pins are thinner than safety pins, and candy canes can survive quite a bit smaller if you use those rather than a safety pin to make the hole
Where did you buy the 2 round cutters that you use when making the tea cup and the cracked egg shell. I really enjoyed watching your videos. They are truly amazing. Thanks for sharing.
Missmir When someone thinks an item is real in the photos, that is always the best compliment :) Thank you so much for watching, and taking the time to comment Heather
HI there, great tutorial. How do you stop the white and the pink colours bleeding into one another? When I roll my clay together like that the white turns pink because it touches the red, I can never get a crisp white and red look. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers!
Congrats! Candy canes are fun :) I did a video on changes on etsy. It is the newest video. I am allowing people to put links to their shops in the comments there.
paigekboss1998 Congrats. message me through youtube or my shop to leave me an address to send it to. It doesn't have to be a home address. If you are under 18 have your parents write me to give me permission to send it.
