Saturday we visited the Haigh Hall Miniature Railway,it took some finding but well worth it. Many thanks to the members of the railway for allowing us to film from areas not used by the public.
A fascinating Railway Chris, full of character...Interesting to see the loco was built at Ross On Wye, and those young lads at the end, were probably in training for being future Marathon runners...Regards...Bob
The Alan Keef loco's are very popular on these park railways always reliable,they come in many gauge sizes....LOL! We thought they looked like triplets as they are all dressed the same, Bob,you could be right two of them did a great job keeping up with the train......Best wishes Chris
Many thanks again for yet another excellent quality video. I had not heard of this railway so, after I had done some searching I thought your subscribers might like to know that it's in Greater Manchester, not far from Wigan and it has a Wigan postcode - WN2 1PG - which takes you straight to some good satellite photos on Google Earth. The circuit is one mile and the track is 15in gauge . (When I first watched your video I thought it might be 18in gauge). I shall try and visit this line myself soon and the postcode has been saved on my SatNav and I've bookmarked the railway's website. Hi Rob,Many thanks for your comment,I was so tired after travelling home that I didn't go into so much detail of the railway,thanks for putting that right for me. If you do make the visit to this railway go on the Sunday as Wigan Model Engineers have a raised track railway in the woods about a 100 yards from Haigh Hall Station,we didn't now Wigan had a M.E club so it was news to us as well,sadly we visited on the Saturday and it was closed.....Another trip next year!!!!!.......Best wishes Chris
