More??! Check out the latest Ghibli craft episode! The mossy home from Kiki's Delivery Service: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-5SMW6CKBgPE.html
This is probably the only person in the world who, when they say “I won’t throw this {insert random piece of junk} out because I might use it some day” genuinely does.
Yes! I actually have a Tee Turtle shirt with a little fox carrying(overloaded with!) potions and swords and various knick knacks and it says "I might need this later"
I feel attacked. I have a recycling bin in my room that is filled with plastic packaging and other trash bits like cardboard and stuff. I’ve used some plastic for crafts but I really need to learn how to use items lol
"I made a non-functioning sliding door, also known as a door themed wall" you said this golden line in such a dry tone it nearly passed me by unnoticed, I had to rewind back to thoroughly appreciate it
gonna be honest here, if there’s a thing i envy in artists is how easily some of them just go with the flow and have fun. if i were to do a project like this i would mesure out everything, make a detailed plan with every proportion, and (if i managed to keep going after it already stressed me out) end up crying when it eventually didn’t work the way i planned.
You're one step ahead of me, then. My impatient ADHD ass wouldn't even get past 5 minutes of anything since I have zero patience which sucks since I'm an art major and love watching crafting videos lol.
I'll give some advice then, which helped me. Buy "Wreck this Journal" by Keri Smith. The point is to truly attempt to ruin the book, not to make it pretty. Which is a lot harder than it sounds, actually. But it's great exercise in letting go the need to be perfect. Once you allow yourself the freedom to make a mess without apology, it changes something inside you and begins to release the need to make all other projects "perfect". You learn that pretty much anything you do to the journal can be worked around, or even made into a beautiful feature. you begin to trust yourself to figure it out when there's a problem. It did me a world of good.
1st rule of art is, no matter how much you plan, plot, measure or redo, no project is ever going to be exactly like what you first imagined it to be, but that's one of the greatest things! Most things that you improvise are some of the best elements of the piece of art. You can look back and say 'Hey, I didn't have it all figured out, but it still turned out brilliant!' Over time you begin to trust your crafting instincts more. Make a quick doodle sketch and get at it!
Measuring things makes me wanna die, so I have to trial and error EVERYTHING until it works how I want it to. Takes forever. But try to let your perfectionism take the backseat to fun, and when you cry because it's not working out how you wanted, that's the halfway point ❤ happy crafting
can this video of mine about Laputa Gardener Robot ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-FiyjtuzEiX4.html have at least 3 k views? I'd be already very happy
"I'm not paying too much atention to details" 2 minutes later: "I tried to avoid number four at all elements on the project because it's bad luck and sounds 'death' in japanese" Really impressed with this project, it's beautiful
@@sunburst3476 4 (四 (sì)) represents bad luck in Chinese culture (not only in China. In fact, 4 also represents bad luck in East Asia like Taiwan, Japan and Korea..) because it's similar to the word "death" (死 (sǐ))
Ok. So being a 63 year old grandmother this isn’t usually my style, but it was recommended and I watched it all the way - I have to say I loved it especially the commentary. So I have subscribed. Looking forward to more.
I can’t tell you how hard I laughed at the “door themed wall” joke as well as some others 😂 it’s not fair that you’re this funny AND a talented builder
Discovered your channel at 6 am this morning to distract me from my mind. I've now watched every video and I'm very excited for your future RU-vid career. I love your puns, your jokes, your nerdy pop ins and of course the actual content. The details are incredible, the time you put in and the end result. I absolutely love the way your videos are done. Can't wait for more. I have so many suggestions 🤣 but I'm also sleep deprived now and don't wanna come off as a crazy. Can't wait for more. Also my daughter watched with me and she says your among us video is her favourite and requests more. She also requested that we become friends so I can make her one lol. Children are funny.
Feed me those suggestions! I really love hearing that (just like Kix) my videos are Kid Tested, Mother Approved. I really appreciate you taking the time to leave this comment, and in a sleep-deprived state no less! Thank you!
Love this humour infused tutorial! You must be youtube's 'zefrank' of the model- making world. Thank you for choosing to use materials that are easy to come by, as well as using not too many tools, making the project inviting to those who want to have a go but don't have a great deal of equipment to start with. Also, bonus points galore for finding such an attractive use for one of the ugliest materials known to crafting!
Honestly, this proves that we can literally recycle materials that we have at home to reconsider throwing them away, it’s my first time watching and i’m already in love with it, keep going!
I really love how you actually provide evidence of how truly incredible art can be made for dirt cheap. I see so many videos claiming to be cost friendly and then being like all you need is a 3D printer and this incredibly obscure piece of niche equipment that serves exactly one purpose.
Not only is this video awesome but when you said your first Patron was Eric Barone I was like, "Wait... is it THE Eric Barone? The dude that singlehandedly created Stardew Valley?" The world may never know
I was wondering the same thing! I’m guessing it is considering the video uploaded right before this is the wizards tower from Stardew valley, and ConcernedApe commented on it!
4:50 You mentioned that you avoided choosing beams or anything that had to do with the number four, and I think that's a neat attention to detail! A lot of people are superstitious in Japanese culture and I appreciate you adding attention to that detail ☺️
We found your channel looking for something to help calm my daughter down for bed since visual stimuli is something that helps keep her settled, but I like trying to keep her nighttime video consumption to something more calm and soothing - and this was perfect. My daughter is a huge Ghibli fan and she asked for all the Ghibli videos personally after we watched the Pokemon Center - and I am not totally in love. My craft of choice is plush making and I enjoy it thoroughly, but I absolutely LOVE seeing how other crafters handle the details and techniques of their projects and these are just lovely. Your jokes are on point and your techniques are some of the best I've seen. Can't wait to see more!
"I spent a few seconds drawing this masterpiece before I gave up and decided I'd rather start building. You can screenshot and print that blueprint free of charge." 🤣
5:49 Wait, wait, wait? Your first patron was Eric Barone? ConcernedApe?! That's not just a coincidence, is it? Mr. Stardew Valley himself was your first patron?
I’m both encouraged and given so much anxiety by how imprecise you are. As someone who always gets caught up in the details in all my craft endeavours it’s so good to be reminded that you can make cool shit without being obsessed with “perfection”
My painting style is rather messy and I use colors like Howl's moving castle has, and I can say I'm obsessed with everything being perfectly imperfect :') It's either a curse or a blessing because I would spend hours to perfect drawings, then later finding out how horrible it is ahha
I'm the same but after becoming a welder it's calmed down in me as welding as a practice is imprecise BECAUSE of humans, literally day 1 you're taught no human weld will ever be perfect as just our hear beats throws off our hand movements and affect our welds even very slightly so you just have to accept you'll never be perfect
I cant help but rewatch this video over and over, it was my first and probably favorite studson video and it absolutely delights me to watch it every time.
So disappointed that youtube is just now recommending this channel to me when crafting and sarcasm is essentially my family crest. I've never been so entertained while watching someone make something that great, dude. Thanks for all your hard work (on the crafting *and* the editing, seriously that must have taken ages with all those quick clips and audio bits worked in all over the place)
most of these building channels use dollar store items and im already super impressed but this person just rummages around their house, cuts it up, glues it together and bam its beautiful
I love this channel bc it feels real. It doesn't seem like something unattainable, it's something that you an average person can do if you put the effort in
me when I have a hand modeling assignment: ugh why can't we just model it digitally that's industry standard now me when I have a digital model assignment: *procrastinates on youtube* wow look at this craftsmanship I can't believe anyone would choose to not work with their hands this is where the real magic happens
I cant believe how real and authentic this looks! but the most impressive thing is how steady it is, I feel like when I glue stuff with crafting glue you have to touch it super carefully or it breaks immediately
I saw this video 2 days ago as well, and just today it has 383k! I had to do a double take since I was like "wait.. wasn't that like 150k 2 days ago??" I'm a new subscriber and just wanna say, today he has 43.1k Subscribers. ^-^ I know his channel is starting to get noticed so it is exciting!
"This body has no face, but it needs a No Face face, so I printed out a No Face face then glued that face onto the body with no face, making it No Face." Best ever. 😆😆😆
I honestly am amazed by how much work You put into making this minatures and videos! I don't craft stuff as often but i enjoy watching a good craftsman in work. Everytime i get an info that "Studson Studio Uploaded new video" i say to myself: Yeah, today is going to be a good day.
Your work has given my sister and I something to reconnect on. In the value of how your life impacts the lives of others, please know there is little work closer to divinity than this. Thank you.
"This body has no face, but it needs a noface's face. So i printed a noface's face into a piece of curved plastic and then glued it into the body with no face. And voila"
This is some of the most incredible, amazing, magnificent stuff I have ever seen anywhere! You, my friend, are epic! The build, the jokes, the use of whatever you have lying around, the editing, the quality?! Everything is friggin awesome!
Even though I watched the whole thing and know exactly what you used for materials, the fished product is so realistic that brain juzt refuses to see those simple marerials. Great build and video. Thank you so much for sharing it.
I have made a lot of things in my life, but this is fantastic and has given me some ideas, as i often am loath to throw away plastic trash, old jewelry and take away plastic food containers which fascinate me with the textures. You are obviously more practiced and have given me more delight watching your skills.
*Derek Zoolander* : “What is this?! _A CENTER FOR ANTS_ ?!! How can the spirits be able to bathe and replenish themselves _if they can't even fit inside the building_ ? The Bathhouse has to be at least............ _THREE_ times bigger than this!!” Okay, but seriously, I wanna say as a Studio Ghibli fan and a lover of "Spirited Away", this replica miniature is gorgeous! The fact you made a whole bathhouse by using a tissue box is impressive!
This is insane! Looooove it, and soooo excited for the rest of the series! For suggestions, I'd love to see literally anything from Terry Pratchett's Discworld universe!
I might be living under a rock, because the name Discworld didn't ring a bell, so I googled it, and instantly filled in all the blanks in my mind to every time I've seen a reference to that turtle. I think the only Terry Pratchett I've been exposed to is the Good Omens tv series actually. Is The Colour of Magic the best place to start for reading a Terry Pratchett book?
@@StudsonStudio ah awesome! The Discworld series is just the best. Such a hard question lol. The colour of magic is good, and I loved the BBC film adaptation, but honestly I didn't enjoy the book too much, or the light fantastic, especially when compared to the rest. I actually started with The Fifth Elephant, number 24 lol! But that's the great thing about the series, you can pretty much start where you want! Personally I'm glad I didn't start from #1 because I don't know if I would have kept reading! I loved The Last Continent, Guards! Guards! But they're all so good it's hard to choose. He basically has different "themes" ie, wizards, witches, city watch, and a couple others. Different books interlap sometimes but generally stick to their groupings. Hope that helps!
I often think of going back to this type of art, as a child I did stuff like this only on an eight to twelve age range level of skill, I sewed grass tubes together, I wove plants into braids, I made bridges. I used instant Mac and Cheese boxes for walls and caps for stools and I'd make the floors and such. Didn't have paint but I still did as much as I could with boring brown walls and construction paper. My dad would often pick them up while they were half way with the Popsicle stick porches and the Popsicle stick house in progress, and smash them into the trash, so I'd have to restart over and over, he was a hoarder who screamed at me for keeping trash around and often threw my stuff into the yard. From backpacks to plush animals. So I would cry and then start over. I once made a chair from paper plates and two pencils perfect for dolls. Just about everything I made was crushed and smashed into the trash. So as you can see, I lost a lot of the motivation to do this. My dad's abuse and insults over my passions were always in my head. Seeing an adult do what I grew up told I could not just fills me with fire. I wonder if I could even do it anymore.
It sounds like you really have (had) a passion for this, so why not get it revived? If you were that creative as a child, just imagine what wonderful creations you could come up with now! Regarding the "I wonder if I could even do it anymore", I think it's all going to come back quite fast, just like riding a bike after you haven't in a while! So totally go for it!
@@alexandratudorescu2162 In ways I think it's the abuse. I'm scared to do something I love so much and maybe have it destroyed. Watching this man slave hours into a project and put so much effort in and keep his made me a touch envious. I wish I was that lucky, some part of me wishes I had pictures of what I made, some sort of reference from my old self. I do all manner of art now, this is just one that I've been scared to step back into. It's so delicate and easily destroyed. It's been almost twenty years since that me existed, and it feels weird to unearth such a rusted wheel and fix it. I will likely have to start small with bottle cap bar chairs and crude shapes, then see if anything bad happens to them, and when it doesn't. . . I'm not sure how I will feel, relieved, I hope. Watching Studson's videos feels like a form of therapy for a bruise that never healed.
Thank you for sharing your story, I really appreciate it. I actually only got into this hobby as a 30+ year old adult and I believe it's never too late to start any hobby. Before that, the last time I crafted something was probably my pre-teen years. I agree with the folks above about starting small and jumping back into it. I started small following videos and templates others had made since it made me feel like there was less room for error, as I was just trying to replicate something I thought looked nice and didn't have to worry about putting my own creativity into it. It sounds like you have a passion in you that's ready to be manifested in some way. Good luck and have fun with whatever creative path you go down!
I think you should start , it may well be more beneficial to your mental well-being than can be imagined. Many people have these kind of scars from chilhood , and healing is important. Just knowing that nothing will happen to your creations is worth it alone . Do ourself a favour , you deserve it.
Wow. You are so talented. I love that this was made with a lot of recycled items and not that expensive to make. It looks absolutely beautiful, and i adore the tree that you made. Thankyou so much for sharing this. :D
Honestly if we told this guy "make a house out of garbage" and put him in a landfill, the entire landfill would be gone and the house would be a modern art masterpiece.
Holy Cow! We couldn’t click fast enough. This is absolutely amazing! The level of talent is off the charts. We will never look at Tissue boxes the same 💀❤️
