By lighting the fire up in the in the air and then moving the shovel towards the hole, you increased the risk of the young man burning his arm. A good of friend of mine has seen many incident occur due to this. Ideally you want to light it with long matches near the door so there is less movement, even if it is a miniature
@@MrStationHouse imho a 12-24 volt fan on top of the smoke stack will produce a better draught. It seems more and more miniature steam enthusiasts are going down the route these days. I've seen many struggle to raise a good fire with just an extension.
