Hi guys! Today's video is a remake of a tutorial I made years ago on how to create a miniature 1/12 typewriter. This version is more detailed and much more realistic as it uses 3d modeling techniques. I’ll also show you how to improve the handmade version we created years ago to get a similar look as the one we’re designing today. Enjoy!
Here is the tutorial for the handmade version: • Miniature Vintage Type...

Wow, making a 1/12 scale typewriter is truly genius. Even the smallest parts look very clear and neat. Thank you for sharing!

I really like the printed typewriter but still prefer the vintage wooden one. Love the improvements! 🥰🥰🥰 I follow some Japanese miniature crafters, they create everything out of wood, so impressive! I miss the days when you were crafting with wood, so creative and inspiring. 😍😍

Wow, I'm always amazed at the details you put into your miniatures. Technology has advanced so fast that it's hard to keep up with it. It was only a few years ago that I found videos about making miniatures on RU-vid. Everything was made by hand and now everyone is using machines to create more realistic models. That's great and I'm glad that miniaturists have the tools available. I'll be here admiring what is being made.

Also, remember to increase the sides on cylinders for smoother edges. And, with delicate resin prints, put the raw resin print in warm/hot water for 30sec and peel off supports. Then cure. It means less cleanup and nodules.

Have spent much of my life typing, since 1967. So small mistakes really grate, but could be easily fixed. Paper goes in the back of the platen, blank, and comes out the front with typing. You just stick a page in the back. All typewriters need a ribbon for the keys to hit and smack it into the paper. Typewriters have a certain number of keys, not just whatever fits. This includes
@hollyingraham3980
@hollyingraham3980 9 месяцев назад
... Shift at the ends of the first row and shift lock on the left of the second row. What you are worst missing is any form of return to move the plate back to the start. On an electric, the return key is always double size and on the right. But on a manual like this, you need a return lever on the left end of the platen. Try checking the Internet Archive for Montgomery Ward or Sears catalogs so you have a reference on details. This is better than most being sold, but you can step it up to chef's kiss.

Amazing as always! How do you decide what scale to use when sizing down objects? Is 1/12 your favorite?
@TheSquaretoSpare
@TheSquaretoSpare 9 месяцев назад
Thank you! 1/12 is definitely my favorite :) I'll go smaller when the project is huge and I don't have the space for a 1/12 version (like my Winchester Mansion) or bigger when I need to fit other components like a motor (my motorized kitchen mixer). I hope that helps!

Impressive and attractive, but not quite as accurate as some of your other replicas. Like everything else, we get the best results when we reference the real thing. Just a few tweaks will get it there. Other commenters have mentioned some specifics; you may also want to check the size as this looks a bit large (although actual machines could vary widely in size, the paper would always be the same, about 3/4" wide in mini). Sorry to seem so critical; I do love your mini as I loved the first one from years ago. You're just so good at what you do that our expectations are very high!
