The 2S sequencer is ace. This vid just scratches the surface. Definitely recommend the 2S over the 2. You can always plug in a MIDI keyboard to play it too.
Arturia the number one factor that has persuaded me to buy new gear has been RU-vid videos showing the features and functionality. I’m sure I’m not alone. You can’t over do RU-vid.
dude i have one of these on loan from my friend because i didnt have a sequencer at this time for my modular but i had no idea this was actually such a powerful synthesizer
Hi! Great video! Could you tell me if you can use the Keystèp or other keyboard to insert notes (step rec or realtime rec) into 2S sequencer? Thanks a lot!
Wish there was a way to see the note by pressing the button or shift function to see note of each step for quick recall of what note was played instead of moving a knob to change the note to see what note was played. My biggest pet peeve so far is that. The reaction of the sequencer in realtime mode seems to miss the first note. If we checked your work here in this video I wouldn't be surprised if the first note you played into the sequence wasn't exactly on the first note. yes do make more tutorial videos on this synth. when I was trying to think of way to combine shift and buttons to press to lock in a setting on the sequencer to then be allowed to select any button to view notes; does that feature exist, am I rambling?
Hi, Sorry for the delay in replying, we released the 5th episode in February ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-KOckQ5-1qO0.html. Best regards.
Direly in need of episode 5 to really grasp how to use tracks 3 and 4 as second pitch and gate tracks. Can I enter that second pitch track using live recording? Doesn't sem to work. Also, how to use the per-step LFOs and envelopes . Also, how would I "build" myself a pitch wheel and be able to set the range like on the keyboard version or Minibrute 1. I'm thinking this would somehow be done with an attenuator but not sure
@@SpeccyMan thank you for your remark! Voor de ene is het niet altijd makkelijk om zich in een andere taal perfect uit te drukken, et l'autre maîtrise aussi bien la langue qu'il le considère nécessaire de faire des remarques stupides. Therefor, I will not correct it so others can learn from my mistake.
Monsieur Arturia, could we have in a software update: 1. Triplets time division 2. a gate setting resolution if 5 or 10 increments instead of 100 ? And a way to set the same gate for all steps with a single knob? Also a way to preview what note we're on in step rec & play without having to change it one semitone and back?
Many thx for the video. But how do you deal with the chords, the scales, the modes (Aeolian, Myxolidian..). If I want to use the Aeolian mode on the C key, how do I do ? Are the keys locked/muted accordingly ?
Hi! To be honest I don't remember how to change the root note but I know you can do it, in Scale mode, each wrong note will be shifted to the nearest note within the current scale. Hey there, Here are the steps to follow to create a chain: - Press and hold the Chain button - Using the pads, select a pattern from the 16 that are available within the bank. It is not possible to create a chain from different banks. - Remember: pads that are blue contain data. Pads that are dark are empty. You can select empty patterns if you like; they'll simply play back a bar of silence. - You can use the same pattern more than once in a row; just press its pad again. - Continue pressing the pads in the order that you want them to appear within the Chain. You place up to 16 patterns into the Chain. - When you release the Chain button, a chain of patterns will have been created using the first 16 patterns that you entered. You can find out more in our manual : downloads.arturia.net/products/minibrute-2s/manual/minibrute-2s_Manual_1_0_EN.pdf Best
@@ArturiaOfficial it works fine with the internal oscillators but seems to malfunction when sequencing externally (acidlab m303) - is the slide/pitch parameter locked to the internal sequencer and not supposed to be used for external control like the beatstep? thank you for your help.
@@emilyschmanks As it's fully analog it should work with an external analog instrument. I suggest you to get in touch with our support team with this link: www.arturia.com/support/askforhelp I’m sure they will be able to help you :) Best regards.
I would like to incorporate this into a dj set, is there a way i can ensure that the sequences i play remain in a specific musical key? Sorry ive never used a synth before!
to change the key: push the transpose button at the bottom right and then choose the note at the left.... Before composing, you can also store your own scales: shift+user and choose the notes of your scale... pushing the 'chain' button + playing the note you want is quicker :-)... The interest of personnal scale is when you turn the knob during 'live'
