That is why I love this company so much and will continue to enjoy their amazing products, they take their users needs and pain points into heart by default on launch, and by listening to continues feedback 👏
I appreciate the update. But I can't find any further documentation or manual to the new firmware. I would love to read more about the new relative knob modes. Whats the difference between them?
But how does it work? whatever option I choose, the relative modes barely move the values. Or do nothing, or jump to the end. A bit of documentation would have been nice.
@@basicnoise I don't really know why, but it only works for me if I turn the knob left when mapping. When I turn right when mapping, it jumps values just like you said.
It's shit, don't buy minilab 3 if you want infinite knobs, they still don't work and that firmware update only added relative functions that are useless because it only jumps from 0 to 127.
EXELENT UPDATE!!! the transpose bank feature tremendously useful , thanks so much, if allow i would make a suggestion for the next update, in the arp feature you can add a "mutate" opcion like de novation launchkey has, its really usefull and you can replacit in the "sync source" knob wich really isnt necesary when you want to use the arp in a performance way. thanks to everybody working on this project!
Great! Today a new update after which the keyboard stopped working altogether. Now, instead of making music, I have to fiddle with the settings, write to support, and read all sorts of nonsense on the forums. Bravo Arturia.
can you help me? I just bought my minilab 3 and I'm having problems. my computer is not recognizing it and the midi control center does not want to update the firmware so that is why its lights do not stop blinking and it does not work.
Dear awesome Arturia, if I press shift as suggested can i double the midi map of the 8 knobs+4 faders to have 24x5 assignable controls? If not please add more custom banks in 1.2. I cannot bring an heavy keyboard in the backpack
What's the point of adding the "relative" option for encoders if we are not able to modify the "DAW" preset by any means? I can change the encoders behaviour (or any other element), but then saving it as a new, custom preset disables the Ableton Control Surface (or any other DAW) integration completely
Hello Does it work with MPC ? Can the sliders be assigned to some tracks volume on the MPC ? Can the pads be assigned to mute/unmute tracks on the PMC ? Thanks, Daniel
Hello! the other day I bought a midi keyboard arturia minilab 3 and at home I noticed that one key (E) 3 on the left is slightly higher than the rest by about 1mm. Is this cause for concern? how are you with that? Thank you!
Hi. Bought minilab3 3 months back. Wasn't very happy in the early days. But today I feel its reasonably good for a beginners (like me). The only botheration now is 25 keys is too low...My next keyboard shall be 61 or 88 for sure. Thanks for this detailed video. Glad From Pune city, India.
The Transport Bank is really handy, thank you! But after updating my MiniLab3 I ran into a problem that transport control doesn't work (with Ableton) when choosing a user template (instead of "Arturia" or "DAW" mode). Is it a bug or am I doing something wrong?
Hi everyone! I work with Ableton Live. Do i need an Audio Interface (like Focusrite) between the Arturia and my Laptop? Or can i connect directly via USB C without having Latency when playing e.g. Drums in the Arturia?
That sounds interesting. But... Many musicians and amateurs continue to explore their musical experiences with the Minilab Mk2. And there are no plans to change anything yet. And we'd love some inspiring and creative updates too. Looking forward to it ;) Good luck and thanks for all you do for us!
Guys, can anyone answer my question? I know there's a velocity options in software, but when i control hardware with MidiOut Din port, will it save the same settings for controlling external device? I have some midi keyboards, with them i can assing any velocity i want BUT only when i'm in Ableton or any other DAW, and when i control external hardware like my Electribe 2S, all velocity options are not saved and cannot be used! How does this keyboard works with it? Does anybody know?
I updated my Minilab 3 to the latest firmware. However, it will no longer work in Cakewalk. I had no trouble until the update. Pretty frustrated at this point. I've spent two days trying to get it to work. Un-installed, reinstalled the Minilab. Reinstalled drivers and the updated firmware. Still nothing.
bit late, but: "Depending on the relative mode used, the values sent and the reference value will vary depending on the DAW or software used. The expected values may also differ. Our Controllers are handling 3 different Relative modes described below: Relative 1 : The knob will send values 61-63 when turned in a negative direction and values 65-67 when turned in a positive direction. The turn speed determines the parameter response. Relative 2 : The knob will send values 125-127 when turned in a negative direction and values 1-3 when turned in a positive direction. The turn speed determines the parameter response. Relative 3 : The knob will send values 13-15 when turned in a negative direction and values 17-19 when turned in a positive direction. The turn speed determines the parameter response. Please note that a "0" value will be sent between each steps. In relative mode 1, moving (slowly) right will send 65/64/65/64/65 etc... This addition of this "0" value has been made to prevent browsing issues in Ableton Live. This parameter was called "knob fix" in Midi Control Center, but has been hard implemented in the last firmware versions."
The auto sync mode on my keyboard doesn't always work. I need to switch to another mode and then return to auto again. And after a while it stops working again. I have not yet seen patterns in this, I hope this is happening because I am doing something wrong. I work in FL 20.8. I'm using the input wait mode with arpeggiator.
I just tried the new knob functions and all the relative modes are just useless in any mode within the daw (like pick up, jump, scaled) I don't get it. And I still have a controller with endless encoders that actually aren't endless. I couldn't be more disappointed. How could you get this not right?????
they had to add more presets to not delude minilab2 users, is a clear strategy that will destroy Arturia itself, when i can have a lot of presets in mini mpk akai, they do not undersand that the 100 eu target is not the 500 eu target from freak
Has there been a fix to this problem? I read in a lot of forums that the endless encoders just jump when switching to an other vst/instrument. I am not sure if I should be buying the minilab3 @@basicnoise
i just updated my MiniLab3 but it doesn't appear the 'Option section' to choose between Asbolute or Relative. I can't upgrade the MIDI Control Center either. I press 'upgrade' but nothing happens. It open the midi center but same 1.14.2 version
Hi there, I am a logic user. I have both minilab 3 and monogram controller. I just hope some function of monogram controller could be used in minilab 3 as well. It s more a kind of function for users shortcuts. for now, in the DAW mode of minilab 3, some knobs and touchpad are not participate into the function. I feel minilab 3 has very similar physical access, so I imagine it s not too hard to make the change. Hopefully next time, I am able to zoom in and out on logic by turning the knobs under the DAW mode of minilab 3
It's shit, don't buy minilab 3 if you want infinite knobs, they still don't work and that firmware update only added relative functions that don't work because relative 1 leaves the knob stuck in the middle, and relative 2 and 3 just skips the values I measured at 0 and 127.
Looks like this little keyboard needs a way to connect to a mobile phone to use as its display interface, like a drone remote control. That tiny OLED looks hardly fit for purpose.
The only fair change in a firmware should be to give us the knobs you took away with 10-12 preset modes instead of 5, is more than 80 programmable midi knobs less than the ML2!!!! Too bad because as target i cannot really afford the arturia freak, i can hack Akai to have 8 banks of knobs from sir 'O Donnel, this is a pity because I love much more Arturia for quality, iconic french quality and synth analog lab integration, that unfortunately was better before with 16 knobs than now
Agree it could use more knob controls. Could holding shift and turning the knob(s) be an easy way to double the knob count within each preset? And since the Mk 3 has the display, it would be great if you could rename knob functions so if you touch a knob it would display the function on the display before turning it. Not sure if the knobs have capacitive touch though.
The site is a big pile of garbage where you can't find anything... Arturia hasn't updated the minifuse 2 drivers for years... It's all a load of crap... Never again buy Arturia.
im struggling for hours trying to look for a way to update my analog lab v on my macbook, i'm probably just to dumb for this but the instructions aren't clear or there aren't any instructions for mac:/
