Minimalism | Capsule wardrobe update and declutter 

I don't believe a "one and done" declutter is for everyone. I've been gradually decluttering my life for the last five years now, and I revisit my wardrobe each season. A big part of that is being really careful about what I add to my collection. I am trying out the 5 piece French wardrobe idea: only buy 5 items a season but make them good quality and research carefully. I currently have about 25 neutral pieces in my year-round wardrobe and I swap out colourful pieces (from storage) each season to make up my capsule.

68 down to 46 is amazing - you basically got rid of a third!

You did well! I narrowed my wardrobe down to 40 clothing pieces in the fall of 2018 and that has worked well for the last 2 years. I have the following: 19 professional items 13 casual items 8 workout & lounge items

I want you to know that you have really inspired me... I've put on my list for the Christmas holiday that I need to go through my wardrobe and attempt a Capsule. I'm really overwhelmed by the thought... but seeing all your videos is giving me the courage to tackle this daunting goal!

I loved this video! You made a good call on the dress you tried on. When you put on the black skirt I was amazed at how flattering it was in comparison. You looked gorgeous in that outfit and with the long jacket!

Charlotte usually minimalist put there summer clothes away in a suit case, or container and store them away, each spring, and summer you can pull them out..You add things to your capsule to fill in if needed..just a suggestion..

I do capsule wardrobes! I do seasonal capsules. It's a lot fun creating them. I have 45 pieces in my capsule for this season most of my capsule wardrobe essential stay in there all year. I just switch seasonal pieces in and out. I do decluttering during the season if I feel like I don't love the item or feel uncomfortable in it anymore

Very nice capsule wardrobe, you could put the money aside that you would normally spend on clothes so that way when you have list of items you want you could spend on investment pieces :) :) I'm funny wear I hate wearing black because of all the lint and I don't like wearing white as I'm so pale it washes me out they suit you really well though :) :) I instead go with grey, navy, kahki, emerald green, purple and burgandy :) :)

I thought I did good getting my wardrobe down to things that (1) actually fit me and (2) all fit in my side of the closet and my dresser.

I would have kept the red dress! you need one fancy piece for nights out and parties. Plus I'd layer it with the black cardigan and black tights and make it work wear.

I need to start using that British word.... "Faff". YES, get rid of all clothing items that are a faff. I have to force myself to do that too... especially things that I have to pin to keep in place and not show my bra strap or nonsense like that! Or things that make me feel frumpy or uncomfortable or that I'm always tugging at!

Do this 30-40 pieces I see a lot of people use this range does this include pjs workout clothes?

minimalistic is definately the best way to go and de clutter all those things that you will never wear and if changed size we always hang onto them don't we thinking we will fit into them one day but one day is not now...can always buy lovely stuff when you lose weight so for now ditch the idea as in does not come quickly enough and is taking up space

Why keep your summer with your winter? I think you would have small capsules if you separate them.

Too old to wear polka dots little dresses? I would wear them and I’m much older than you for sure. The polka dots print is a classic and just be seeing them close to your face, we could see it suits you really well.
