Well done packing light! I would also need a hat + laptop for wrking which adds a lot of weight unfortunately. Like you, I like to pack less clothes + hand wash 👌
Thanks! We'll, unfortunately you can't avoid bringing a laptop if you need it for work. The rest of the stuff can go lightweight and minimal. Certain stuffs e.g. toothpaste, soap, sun cream, could add up weights which could be purchased easily after arriving your destination 😀. Handwashing your own clothes regularly, you won't need a ton of clothes, and that will reduce your bag weight to allow extra space for your laptop. In actual fact, my backpack in this video could still fit a 14 inch laptop if I wanted to. That unutilize laptop space could be utilized for contingency use because I always have some allowance in the event I grab a small souvenir along the way. Hope this small tip helps you along the way to go minimalist backpacking.
Yeah! It’s cleaner and after washing yourself just hang it dry using a hanger from the closet. Sometimes I do bring my own lightweight plastic cloth hanger along in my backpack if I know the place don’t provide clothes hanger 😊
Do they let you carry on that bag? For many international flights the maximum measurements of a carry on bag is 56x36x23cm, but this bag seems to be 70x28x25cm. The Osprey Arcane Duffel bag (30 litre) is a good fit for carry on, and it’s about 820gms. A lot of Jetstar / Air NZ flights have that 7kg limit, so the weight of the bag itself can make a huge difference. Also the Arcane opens like a suitcase, making it easy to pack and to find things in it.
You will never go wrong with a lightweight bag preferably clap shell style and stay within 35L capacity for a one-bag travel. You could get almost everything else at your destination e.g. shampoo, soap, toothbrush, etc. to make your bag weight not more than 7kg for to meet most Budget airlines weight limit. Believe me I’ve done Japan on 3 weeks travel with just a 7kg backpack without my laptop. Travel light is the goal 😊
